I have been loving your 'How to Choose Fruit' series. Subscribed and looking forward to watching many more videos on food prep, etc.
Thanks for your support!
They say you should soak them in baking soda and salt to remove the pests and dirt before you eat them. I almost watched every video tutorial about fruits that you made 😁 keep up the good work sir! Be blessed and thank Yah!
Thanks for watching!
I have a great tip to preserve strawberries for much longer than typical, and it is VERY counterintuitive. Place your strawberries in a bowl, and fill with equal parts white distilled vinegar and water, enough to completely submerge. GENTLY swish around to remove any dirt/particles. Drain and DO NOT rinse. Gently place on a towel and dry each strawberry. Put them in a bowl in the fridge. They are supposed to stay fresh for a full 3 weeks. But I always end up eating them within about 4 days. I can not explain why the strawberries smell of vinegar, but I promise that there is zero vinegar taste. Go figure 🤷♀️ No trimming nor single layer required. And when you stain your kitchen towel with that bright red berry juice, NOT a problem. A trick that I learned from my much beloved mother-in-law more than 30 years ago is pure genius. To instantly remove ANY fruit based stain, including red wine 🤯 - just pour boiling water on it. Instantly gone. Because a kitchen towel is larger than a single spot stain, I put a pot of water to boil on the stove when I begin this strawberry preservation process. Then when ready, I just use tongs to dip the kitchen towel into the boiling water. The kitchen towel has zero stains, and the water turns pink. Long reply, I know. But had to share. I REALLY enjoy your videos. Thank you 👊
Great tip! Ascorbic acid (Vitamin-C) and water also works. This is how they preserve cut fruit to sell at the grocery store.
@@FoodChainTV I will give the absorbic acid a try as well. Thank you!
thank you...guy

Great tip, will use it next time I buy strawberries.
Excellent !
11:38..do u cover them when you cut them up for the fridge?
I do, with Saran Wrap. Never noticed anything different. I really can't stand to open the fridge and be hit with a lot of different odors
I LOVE THIS RECIPE!!!!
Is it true that strawberries and broccoli have worms? And what about cherries?
