Thanks! My mom said I couldn’t and I would burn the house down but my sister lets me do it I did one and my mom said I can do it but I cannot burn the house down
I did this with my friend we did this as a contest and I won. If you do keep spinning the strawberry in the syrup, it will turn into this really crispy crunchy sweet and sour treat, but if you just dip it in the syrup for a short amount of time, it will just be a boring normal strawberry. (Hope this helps!)🍓👍
You can also make tanghulu in the microwave just get a normal sized mug and put in 5 tbs of sugar and 2 tbs of water then put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Once it’s done it should be tinted yellow and bubbly if it’s not put it in for 30 more seconds or more till it is yellow and bubbly then make an ice bath and dip your fruit in. It should be able to make 3 - 4 normal sized strawberries and a couple of other things then enjoy! Tip: when you clean the mug or thing you put the sugar in put hot water in the cup so the sugar wil dissolve! I hope you try this! ❤❤❤❤❤❤🍓🍓🍓🍓
please dont do this! microwaveable containers are not made for the high heat of sugar like this, so at best, your container will be extremely hot and dangerous, and at worst, your container might melt and possibly spill boiling hot sugar everywhere.
Thank you for sharing the recipe! Would like to add a bit of introduction. This snack originated from Beijing/Tianjin area in China, and it is actually enjoyed in Winter, as the sugar would easily stay frozen in cold weather. One of my favourite snacks since my childhood :)
You should really try it, it's awesome! Doesn't even have to be strawberries, my brother and I tried this technique with many fruits such as grapes, pineapple, apple, mango, peach, etc. What I don't recommend is dtuff like bananas or dragonfruits or sth similar, maybe there's a trick to it so you can use those as well, but when Leno and I tried it out the banana fell apart and the dragonfruit tasted really weird, it's hard to describe... (We gave up after one try and ate the rest of the dragonfruit normally😇)
I appeared cuz I really hate fruits like strawberries cuz for my taste test they taste terrible but I was salivating for the Tanghulu like ima taste it and it will taste different 💀

For anyone wondering how to get all the sugar out of your pot. I struggled with this for an hour and 15 minutes. No kidding. So you put some water in the pot that has the sugar in it of course and then you boil it on high until the bottom of your pan starts making those little bubble thingies and then take a spatula of some sort and put it in the pot and start moving all the sugar around. Make sure you get the sides too. And then once that done if you have any sugar left over in the pot that didn't boil and you're going to take a small strainer like the ones they use to do a little powdered sugar thing and you're going to pour the boiling water over that don't do it too fast and don't burn yourself like I did and then if there's any left, clean the side a little bit and rinse and wash with soap and water

When you add the water to the sugar, do you mix it? (I know don’t touch it in its cooking process, I mean when you first combine those two ingredients…)
I do this in the microwave: put strawberry’s on a stick and mix 1 tsp of sugar with half a tsp of water , mix until it gets a liquid texture, then put it into the microwave for 3 mins , when it’s done u should take it out , ITS HOT , then put the strawberry’s into it and place it into a ice bath and ENJOY
