I recently have come across a deal with MacBook 2015 version. I found your video very helpful and straight to the facts and figures. That saved a lot of time. So, one thing I wanna clarify. During the video you mentioned within the next few years, this version gonna be officially outdated. So, will that affect so hard to the workability of the laptop? Especially to someone who is expecting to use it as a secondary laptop with only email, Word, Excel, browsing, zoom?
got a 2012 with i5 64gb ssd 4gb ram and i kept it on moc os mojave and it runs like a dream and can do video editing 1080p with some lag but it works! got it for £60!

How does the 4gb ram work? And is it ddr3?
@@sakshambishalgurung8350 it's ddr3. 4gb you can get away with light use. If you want to bump up the ram it's possible with some modification. I did mine bump up to max 16gb
@Moments thanks for the reply! I'd def want to upgrade to 8 gbs but I cant do it where I currently live. I'm just hoping 4gb ddr3 can work well to support zoom and browser s.ooth while working

I got the refurbished 11.6 inch 2015 model a year ago equipped with 8gb's of ram and a 2.2ghz core i7. The reason I went with the i7 even though it may use more battery life as well as outputting more heat was so that it can "theoretically" do some multitasking as well as keep up with the times a bit longer so that I don't have to upgrade to a new machine immediately. The only two things I had to do with this machine was upgrade the storage and replace the battery and it works pretty well overall. Another reason was because I was on a budget back in highschool but didn't want to buy a Chromebook, so I found this model for a decent price and I'm currently trying this comment with it. Its a decent little machine!

Just so you know, the 2017 model MacBook Air loses updates at the same time as the 2015 MacBook Air, both end at Monterey, so you may want to take out that one part when you suggest to buy the 2017 one for more software updates because it won't get any more. Also, I found a good deal for this laptop, with 8GB RAM and 256GB, and in great condition, for only $199!

I just got a sweet deal on an early 2015 4gb ram 1.6ghz with a 500 gig storage. It's on mac os moneterey. I use matlab, ltspice, blender etc. All works great and there is no issue at all. I would love to know if I can run Linux for ros.

I've had mine for 8 years and i just switched to the 2022 macbook pro. I only did this because my charger broke in many ways lol & half of the sound from the keyboard wasn't working. Also, it just got a little slow. However it lasted me a while and it's not that bad. I only upgraded because it was necessary
i don’t want this cuz the internals are super old, but something about that old tapered design, and unpopular opinion: the silver bezels, need to come back when apple redesigns the new macbooks in 3 or four years again. i’m sure the chips will be super efficient and allow designs like these to come back.
I am not a huge Mac person but I am looking at a 2015 MacBook Air for $200 USD. I am honestly only looking to get it to use things like iMovie and any kind of picture editing that it comes with. I have a ASUS ROG gaming laptop and a custom built gaming rig and they are powerful but I feel I can do more with a Mac for editing. Primarily it would be short 30 second commercial type videos for my store and pictures editing. Any advice before I drop $200 would be appreciated. The laptop is in good working shape. I just dont know enough about Mac is all. Thanks.
I just got a mid ‘12 pro that is now running Ventura 13.4 with 16gb and 1tb. Runs flawless too. Not alot of work but worth it because You can still replace internals

I just picked one up for cheap to get through one year of college I plan to upgrade next year when I go to uni but I’m excited for it to come as it’s my first MacBook and hopefully it’s a lot better than the windows pcs around the same price

I've been using this Mac for a few months, bought it used for 330 euros, the basic version with 8 GB of ram, I immediately noticed a leap forward compared to my old Macbook Pro 2010, but with the latest operating system it uses, I must say that situation is not the best, so I tried various versions of MacOS and the ones that have the best results on this computer are High Sierra and Mojave, I opted for High Sierra, since it takes up less disk space, and I must say that I can work quietly on Photoahop or Lightroom, I have not yet had the opportunity to edit 2K videos on iMovie, but I think they hold up, because in my old Pro I easily edited them in FullHD, so in my opinion one thing to do to improve this computer and continue to use it over time is to downgrade to an older version of MacOS!

I got my hands on a perfect condition early 2015 MacBook Air including it's original good condition charger, is has the 8gb ram but the only issue is it only has 128gb ssd which is fine because those are easy to upgrade, this laptop also had only 270 cycle count on the battery with norma working condition, I can tell that it has been rarely used it only costed me $135 I couldn't believe the price with what I'm getting. and it's pretty fast for basic tasks and plan to gift it for my mom on here birthday that' why I bought it in the first place.

Got the same configuration for 182 Australian 💵. Want to use it as on the go laptop for traveling and in the out and about. Maybe I put chrome os on it.But maybe I will just install chrome. I m new to the apple universe.

I recommend contacting apple support. I got my macbook in 2015 and up until a few weeks ago was still running OS Yosemite before I found out I could upgrade to Monterey. I contacted apple support and went into one of their branches and they helped me with the updates, cause it was a big jump and needed a reset. So it's definitely possible to go up to Monterey on the 2015 model. I was ready to get a new macbook but since this update my 2015 model is working so much better I can hold off a bit longer.
How does it handle 2023 versions of Microsoft Word and Excell?

iCloud works fine, yours must be an older Mac, or you haven't updated the software
I have a 2015 macbook air with a pretty sad dual core i5. Since Apple no longer supports this, I just put Windows 10 on it to use it for web browsing and a security camera server. It actually feels pretty 'snappy'. I will say will be our last Mac computer since Apple claims to be a 'green' company but discontinues support after 5-7 years to force consumers to buy the latest and greatest. I am aware there are 'workarounds' to put the latest Mac OS on it and from what I've seen, older Intel based Macs run JUST FINE with it. There is no other reason for Apple not supporting this hardware, other than greed.

Simply NO. I did and greatly regret it. I bought it as it said it can go to OS 12. Um no it can’t it will go to OS 10. Which is useless as there’s little to no apps that work on it. So it’s a big expensive paperweight.

Maybe you have an older one, the 2015 model was receiving updates till last year, and is still getting security updates
