Fun Fact .... RAY was the bloke who wrote the show. When they couldn't find an actor, he stepped up. And what a performance. Some of the Best Stuff I've seen in a minute. Bravo!
Brittany (Ray's daughter) is the real life STEP daughter of the Producer, And Dave, Actor Matt Nable, had a Brother with Motor Neuron Disease, who ultimately passed away. Matt was partly in the show because he gave advice to the actor for Bruce (Nicholas Cassim) on how to portray MND. ua-cam.com/video/Dvz4ThAQM1M/v-deo.html
Cool info, I didn't know that. Sort of like the Genesis of Rocky, except Stallone wrote it and would only sell the screenplay if he played the title character
Are you sure about that? You do realize that this Ray Shoesmith character predates this series, right? The same actor created and played the same character in a movie in 2005 called "The Magician". The "Mr. Inbetween" series is a sequel to that movie.
Gotta say, I don't normally watch an edit all the way through, but this art. Captured the essence of the character in a very pure way. Well done, Maestro.
This show touched me in such a deeply profound way, and I cannot for the life of me figure out precisely why. It's something else. Bless you, Scott (Ryan), and thank you for this gift. Namaste.
I binged watched this recently and actually put off watching the last episode because I didn't want it to end!! Was worried the end would be disappointing but no " RUN" ❤❤❤
A few of the cast from the Sopranos were trying to get him on a podcast...& they thought they were being cat fished...but they got the man himself. They are all big fans of the show & him & the way he went about getting the series made. he wouldn't sell out for big money or let anyone f#ck with the script etc etc.
I've never seen this show, but I've been saying for years that society will not improve until good men find the will to do really bad things for the right reasons.
The line he gives about assholes is more true that people can comprehend... The reason there are assholes is because we tolerate them. The asshole understand this...and exploit it.
Very well done mate this is great editing , that bloke who plays Freddie the Club owner was in Tarantino’s ‘Once upon a time in Hollywood’ think he he played Charles Manson .. looks like the show has been watched by heavy-hitters
The director is Nash Edgerton, brother of B list Hollywood star Joel. Between Damon and Joel, this HAS to have been seen by those who count. Scott Ryan gave as authentic a performance as Gandolfini gave us for Tony. I’d love to see him do more things, but could I ever see beyond the brilliance of Ray……
The best, the very best show I’ve seen for a long while. Funny and tragic, plus Ray’s way of looking at life and it’s consequences is spot on. His comment on why people are ar**holes. - “because people let them get away with it” is so true. Run an election campaign of that logic and you could become Governor.
I am a big fan of Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul, but I have to say that Mr Inbetween is my favourite tv show. I rewatch it regularly. Wish Scott would make another season or two.
Absolutely incredible series. And just rewatching these highlights, I got the reference, "the magician". UA-cam it as this was his first amatuer film that Ray's character is based upon.
"You know, there are a lot of assholes in this world, right?" "Yeah, because people let them get away with it." "So, society should thank you." I've been doing what I can do all my life for the same reason. People ask, "why can't you just let it go?" My answer, "I can't". This part of his character I can completely identify with. What I do now and then, makes me think that next time someone wants to be an asshole to another person, they might think twice.
They put up 3 grand To film the movie, The magician, where we were first introduced to Ray. They touted a potential series for years across multiple agencies both on Oz and the USA... No takers. Fantastic series, great acting, strong writing, and in a way More moralistic than a sermon in church. Thankyou all involved.
You just shouldn't root for Ray, but you do anyway. He's so very practical about violence and funny as fuck, even if he doesn't mean to be. I have known violent men, in extreme circumstances I myself have been violent but I was always mindful of what was happening, I didn't lose control? Some of the most decent and honest men I ever met in my entire life were violent when they needed to be, end of. Proper decent men that would help you if they could? Friends.

Wow! He is absolutely brilliant at it. I would love to see a film or two with the same characters!

@@hanscombrinck1481 the magician was a short film made for the Sydney Film Festival.
I suspect this series will stand the test of time and be a modern day classic.

Run. Do do do do
🤞🏼
Absolutely!
One of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Comedic, tragic, violent, heart warming and sentiment in this show
Yes you are right about that 😎
What are the other shows?
This show is #1 on my list .
I saw it in like 2 days …. Very cool show. If you like the wire, Sopranos then you will like this too.
@@streetsoundselectro124 the brothers storyline was beautifully done, not sentimental at all, just done right
If Ray looks up and gives you a big toothy smile-you’re in BIG trouble. Great show!
What happens if I don't pay?
Do you really wanna find out?
....run
I laughed so hard at the very last scene of the series. That big toothy smile!
The world needs more Ray Shoesmith’s.
Yes we do
'We've' always been around, just not advertising it 🤫😏
💯
We needed a third season.
@@auntiesemite9295 there is 3 season’s. The 3rd was a ripper.
Gotta say, I don't normally watch an edit all the way through, but this art. Captured the essence of the character in a very pure way.
Well done, Maestro.
Watched all 3 seasons 4 times now. Love this show!
Yep. It’s about time I watched it again myself……
Just finished watching for the second time. I’ll give it a few months and watch it again. It’ll be a nice watch in front of the fire around chrimbo 😃
@@theshmed yeah, it’s rather festive 😂
I want to completely forget this show so I can watch it for the first time again.
Fair enough. Cant wait to start.
I've tried and now watched like 5 times through showing others
IKR?
Good luck with that! (I wish I could, too.)
Like breaking bad and call Saul.
Absolutely loved this series. One of the best ever.
What name of series?
Criminally underrated and underseen - a truly brilliant show.
If the therapist knew half the shit he's done, he would have added sir at the end of every sentence😂
One of the realest shows you’ll ever watch. 💯
What a brilliant edit…..fantastic….and a truly FANTASTIC show…..incredible
Gotta admit, this was one of the best shows on TV iv`e ever seen. 20/10
Loved this show ... he is amazing in the role and wrote/directed this thing too I think. Amazing work!
Didn't want it to end best tv show ever its a modern day classic
This is a must see...for anyone who hasn't. Just Brilliant!
An absolutely fantastic series. Up there with Breaking Bad
Great edit really nailed the feel of the show. More people need to be aware of how good this is 👍
One of the best series I’ve seen in a hot minute, too bad he won’t do another season.
This show touched me in such a deeply profound way, and I cannot for the life of me figure out precisely why.

Fabulous show wish there were more like it.. 🏴
The way he elbows Kev’s fists when they’re fighting in the woods.🔥
This show was a gem. It covered all the bases.
One of the best series and characters on TV in a very long time
I didn’t think I’d find a series as good as Banshee but here it is. It’s a cracking show and I hope they do another season or two.
Yeah, that's another good one Banshee. Gotta get into that next
Hope I spelled it ryt?🎉🎉❤❤❤❤😂
Remembering the original short movie "The Magician " when Ray Shoesmith got terminated.
Glad to see the character resurrected.
Was an awesome show.
Fantastic edit, does justice to a fantastic character👍

Ray Shoesmith is a Legend.
I liked how Gary seemed like just a screwup but he was a stand up guy
@@eldee9242 He is a true mate
Amazing edit!!!!!!!!😊 Best scenes we're perfectly added at the end. When je walks in the secret room to kill the child predators is iconic 👍
Truly one of the greats. One of the few shows I would think about days after watching an episode. Just brilliant all the way around.

fantastic series - wish more people had watched it and heard of it here in the UK.
Great show. Real as it gets
Brilliant edit. What a show!
Great edit. 👍
I went to AA and experienced pretty much the same thing. Men who loathed their own families and wouldn't just quietly end themselves to spare them.

Love the reference to "The Magician" at the end! The 2005 Movie that this series was based on.
I did not know that! Thanks! I’m going to go look that up

The funny thing is that usually, The Magician didn't actually make anyone disappear. On most occasions he made them dig their own hidey holes.

WRONG. Ray has a justice problem.

Superb actor. You get swept in as he's so believable.

Best aussie show in years, its just a pity its still not going
The best show 😢,I can relate
Absolutely how I wish life actually played out. Unfortunately, there are far too few Ray Shoesmiths in the world

"You know, there are a lot of assholes in this world, right?"
"Yeah, because people let them get away with it."
"So, society should thank you."
