- A week in my life update... I survived the last month 🥲 So much going on in our fam, including me finally doing a Prenuvo scan (with results!) and our little Nova having a rough time after surgery.

Confused? LONG STORY SHORT:
My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. I met someone new, got married at age 19, had twin boys (Kyson & Kaden) and another son (Landen). He cheated, we split ways, & he’s not around much. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. We’re one big, complicated, blended family & every second of our story is on UA-cam, you can start from the beginning here: • 8 Weeks Pregnant!
FAQ: Yes, we’re done having kids.
FAQ: Names and ages of the kids: Caden (step son, born in 2009), Lilia (daughter, born in 2010), Tommy (step son, born in 2010), Kyson (son, born in 2012), Kaden (son, born in 2012), Landen (son, born in 2014), Addelyn (daughter, born in 2016)
FAQ: Who are the dads? Gabe (Lilia’s dad), Drake (Kyson, Kaden, and Landen bio dad), Chris (Caden, Tommy, Addelyn’s dad)
Please remember that if you have a fatty liver or the beginning of it, you not only have to change your diet but your childrens as well. Or they may be in the same situation not too long from now. Some believe that kids can eat anything and they will be fine. But even though your kids are not chubby, children are now being diagnosed with fatty livers. Back in the day, only the elderly had this condition. Please watch the diet of your kids as well. Love you guys....
I just had an ultrasound of my gallbladder bladder and liver I guess and my dr said I have fat on my liver but made it a no big deal… idk worried now
@@taraguffey8847 I don’t blame you. It’s all about diet. If you. Change now you won’t get worse but if you don’t then that’s when the consequences start. I’m currently in the same boat but I was due to other issues not diet necessarily
I had to cut sugar out and cut back on carbs as they turn to sugar in the liver
Don't forget to add drinking alcohol!
Congrats Jess on being proactive. ❤
My 36 year old grandson had fatty liver and totally changed his diet and no longer has it. Hope you are able to get yours under control. Good luck ❤
I love how your kids were so concerned about Nova. They have kind and caring hearts. ❤
So glad to see both you and Nova are doing well. I unfortunately lost a cat a couple weeks ago due to complications from the anesthesia after coming home from her spay appointment. 😭 It was very traumatic, so seeing a kitty recover again is comforting.
Love you all so much 💗 😊 absolutely love watching the vlogs Jessica!
The soft flower cone has CHANGED MY LIFE and my cats! My baby has severe allergies, she’s on a prescription diet, and has a tendency to open up sores in her skin by chewing on it too much. Cat skin heals sooooo slowly so she has to be in the cone for extended periods if she has a flair up. Her quality of life has increased so drastically since switching to the soft cone. I’m sure Nova is living such a good life in hers now too ❤
Thanks for all the updates!!
A fatty liver can be reversed, but if it continues on scarring, there is no reversal. My mom just died of cirrhosis and cancer of liver which developed after her initial diagnosis of stage 4 cirrhosis and is common (the development of cancer). Unfortunately, her cancer spread. Diet and exercise is crucial. I would not want to see my own worst enemy go through what my mother did. It was horrific. 😔
I wanted to edit to note that there is a common misconception that the cirrhosis of the liver is associated with someone who is a heavy drinker and that is not the case. it is not just alcoholics who can develop this. There needs to be more education on this. What we put into our bodies is so important. Healthy eating and exercise is critical to a healthy liver. There is a thing called nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and over time, as I mentioned above it can cause significant damage to the liver leading to cirrhosis if someone is not proactive once, they’ve been told that they have a fatty liver.
I heard people have reversed fatty liver with carnivore diet.
I’m dealing with stage 1 fatty liver
I'm going through it with my mum now she's only 55
Is there anything important I should be watching for? The drx were so vague
@@PXEGirl first of all I am so sorry to hear about your mama. There really needs to be more education on this. a lot of times doctors will just gloss over this. There is not a lot of education around it. Most people associate cirrhosis of the liver with an alcoholic. You can get cirrhosis of the liver by eating poorly. It’s called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. It progresses overtime I remember being so angry when I found out about my mom And thinking that they needed to be more education on this.
Does your mom just have a fatty liver or is she diagnosed with cirrhosis? Unfortunately cirrhosis is not reversible, but fatty liver is. Exercise and a healthy diet are critical to reversing a fatty liver. if you have any specific questions, I can certainly try to help you answer them. ❤️ it has become my passion to try to educate others. My mama was 64 years old when she passed away. 😢
Most certainly I would say cut out all processed foods, sugar and unhealthy fats, which are the saturated fats. Poly saturated and mono saturated fats are the good fats. Those are found like things in avocados and certain nuts and legumes.
Im so glad yall posted and i love yall so much even thow we dont no each other 😊
I love this style of vlog, loved how you were re-capping the week! I fell behind on keeping up with the vlogs so this felt like I was catching up with you!
I love the longer video Jess!!😍
As far as the cone, you can also use a baby onsie. It came in handy for our youngest pup.
Hey jess…i hope your ok! We love you guys! Send my love to the kiddos!
Thank you for sharing this sending prayers for everyone
for my kitty, i ordered of of the surgery suits because she was so bothered by the cone. it’s just a lil onesie pretty much for them that made a worlds difference for recovery
Love your videos and I hope that you guys had a great Easter
I had Surgery Monday and your channel help my though the last 3 days
I am so glad to see yall it's Been forever.
I got diagnosed with some fat in my liver. Changed my diet, dont drink, I feel so much better than I did. Also would recommend if you havent already to get a complete blood workup done, its more in depth than the generic one. I found out I had prediabetes (not everyone has symptoms but I did) now I'm working on reversing it but it also tells you vitamin deficiencies and all sorts of good stuff to be paying attention to. ❤
Happy Easter 🐰🐣
Hope you will get better ❤❤
We used a onsie on out last one worked awesome.
The flower cone was adorable. Our puppy got neutered and had to get a lump removed off of his leg, so he had to have one of those nasty cones for 2 weeks.
How is your back pain Jess? Is it any better? I remember awhile ago you were saying you had some bad back pain... I. hope it got better! And I'm glad the MRI went well for you!
You guys are wonderful with your pets. Lovely to see. Xx
I was talking to my boyfriend about getting a scan like that but never knew how to find it! I got upset for a while thinking they are only in USA but managed to find a few in UK (sadly they test for less things) but it is so worth going and getting a peace of mind :)
When Landon was talking about the incision and said it was blue. My female dog got a blue line tattooed on her incision to tell people she was fixed. I don’t know if it is the same by you, but that could be why it’s blue.
he saw the stiches i think. my 2 female cats didnt need to have any con. They had steal stiches. One tried to bite it of but then ignore it. The vet said they didnt need con. I took the stitches by myself
Yes!!! I agree! I have 6 dogs, years apart, and they all have this blue line tattoo to show they are fixed 😊
My dog has a pink line for the same reason I think
I've had an MRI before and yes those rules apply. As a t-1 diabetic I would even have to take off my cgm because there is a small metal battery in it so I would always bring a spare cgm. Also glasses too have to come off if they are metal, So can verify you are correct Jess
Same! I’m type 1 as well and wear hair extensions so everything off 😂
Glad everything was good. I was just mowing at your house today
I never been this early to a vid for this channel
That MRI thing was quite cool and so informative. I've been a sickly person and honestly something like this would be peace of mind and I do like that they suggest coming back. I have brain MRIs every 2 years since 2007 when I had my brain tumour removed. But I'm always scared a tumour could be hiding else where 😫
Jess could you please tell me where you purchased those 2 chairs near the trampoline ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I thought the cones where a thing form the past (for spaying at least). Where I live they put bodysuits on both dogs and cats and also do stitches that dissolve on their own. As a result, pets are not bothered and you don't have to go again to remove stitches, you just take of the bodysuit in 5-7 days and that's it
I love the way ya’ll rocks around your pool.
Jessfam Family Happy Easter
Last year my birthday was the day before Easter, and I have red hair too and I love watching your videos
I put mine in a newborn onesie for 2 weeks and she did fine
What an awesome thing! I’m scared to know how much it cost
The flower thing is cute
If you spay your dog, I fully recommend you use a body suit (not sure if that’s the right name) and not a cone. My dog gets quite nervous and the vet giving her that suit made the process so so much calmer for her. Talk to your vet about them bc I’m not sure if ones off amazon are amazing because they may be too thin
We did a donut inflatable cone for my male dog after his neuter and he was so much more comfortable!
I wish i could afford a whole body MRI. would love to catch anything super early. poor nova hope she feels better soon. my girl didnt need a cone. she was fixed same way they do outside cats. i even had her a soft donut cone that she never needed.
We had our cat done a couple weeks ago. They recon they stay in heat a good 3weeks after they finish. Our cat acted like she was in heat after the surgry. She didnt like her cone but aftet a couple days she was fine with it.its been 10days and now shes allowed to go bk outside and have the cone off.
excited for this video!
Where is Tommy is he still living with you guys
She stated in another video that Tommy went back to living with his mom and big Caden was staying with them instead. But I think they are just playing it by ear.
😂😂cats with cones is one of the funniest things ever. Poor nova, she was so loopy from it. I still remember when I had to get my cat fixed, they said he would be out of it, sleepy, and loopy, he came out screaming his head off. 😂😅I saw the flower and thought she looked like she belonged on the set of Teletubies, like she belonged in Teletubiland. 😂😅poor baby.
Great video today
Poor Nova. They didn’t make my cats wear a cone. But that was years ago. I hope she is feeling better ❤
I love ❤you all and I get so many mri but mine are 2 hours and I get and IV so it not the best
My male cat was super sensitive after getting fixed. They had to give him more anesthesia after surgery and before I picked him up. They said he was going crazy in the kennel. Once we got him home he wasn’t calming down and ended up ripping his stitches so I had to take him back and get calming medicine for him. It was a crazy experience.
It’s great you can get the MRI too many ppl can’t even with insurance. Don’t need a cone if cat leaves the wound alone
Unable to comment on the birthday video for the boys but I would like to say happy birthday to the boys and I'm glad the cake situation worked itself out.
When my dog got fixed we had her wear baby blankets onesies. I don’t know if she is big enough for that but maybe try it
I like the shorter hair!
I wish I was as fantastic Mom as you.!
How much was the full scan?
What’s up fammm❤
Could be a good idea if you have signs of fatty liver and that runs in your family to have your parent scanned from that side of the family (or both parents) in case they too have that and happen to be able to reverse it or at the least control it.
I'm so excited
Did you get the digital results before the nurse called you?
I love you so much your videos are amazing and I always look forward to your next video ❤
Surgery suits is what we use for our pets. It’s a onesie for animals.
Hey!
Nova having to have extra anesthesia is funny to me (not in a bad way) I'm considered underweight for my height and I had my wisdom teeth removed a few years ago. The surgeons said I had to have double the anesthesia that normal because I wouldn't stop talking.. and even after I stopped talking, I hummed to their music their ENTIRE WAY THROUGH MY MOUTH SURGERY. I don't remember any of that at all😭😂
I’ve had this scan. My work paid partially for anyone who wanted to do it.
Chronic illness girlie here:they say no makeup because makeup with shimmer or any face product that talks about glow, glowy, etc usually contains nickel.
We have had 3 cats spayed over tge last 5 or so years, never used a cone for any of them 🤷♀️ they know how to look after their own wounds
I did the Easter egg hunt and my mom still gets me a basket and I’m 25 pls never stop with them 😂❤
Jessica you're such a sweetheart, you're so caring and loving of your cat, God bless you!
My grandma had breast cancer and although they found it very early on the they did surgery to take it out but it kept on spreading she went to kemo and it was clear and then it came back so they did another surgery but it didn’t stop the spreading so it spread to her bones and she went through kemo but it didn’t work and she passed away a couple of months ago sadly❤
1 hour for a whole body ?!?! Gosh takes nearly that for my back !!
Happy late Easter to everyone and I love your guys videos they are the best
Are you going to get your herniated disc fixed i had several and needed to be fused
Could you change your custody agreement so it says if something happens Chris will look after the boys?
How much do these MRIs cost?
How much does it cost ???
What about the hyatil hernia?
What is that mri called and ins. help pay?
The fatty liver can be scary. I’ve noticed you eat a lot of carbs/starchy and fatty foods. Diet is a huge part of it.
I wish I could do that but I would be scared. Ugh
Wow Jessica your a month behind on posting
I have a hiatal hernia and I'm on Omeprazole to help with heartburn
Having a full-body MRI so quickly is suspicious to me. I've had 3 MRIs, each of specific areas (lower spine, right knee, right hip) and each took at least half an hour. There was music (which you couldn't hear because the machine is so loud) but never Netflix.
I took a nap during mine
Literally I had a heart MRI that was suppose to take 30-40 minutes and it took over a hour... I got no music cuz I had to do breathing exercises to help with it... but it didn't help that my heart rate was WAYYY higher than the recommended heart rate for a MRI like that 😅. So I can't even imagine doing a full body in a hour... and with how much I know is wrong with my body I don't even think they could do it in a hour 😅
The nurse called it the “lambo of MRI machines”… it’s top the the line (which is maybe why it’s so expensive)🥲 but supposedly faster than the average machine 🤷🏼♀️
When you get Honey fixed look into doggy surgery suits. They look like doggy PJs and no cone is needed. That's what my vert does now instead of cones and they are super cute on dogs.
wow jess posted a 20 minute vlog 😱
You should go to uc davis to fix your hiatal hernia
Milked thistle and dandelion root for liver!
Was about to write the same!
Getting cats fixed is one of the most common and easiest procedures done. It can take vets about 3-5 to do it. How ever every animal is different with meds. But cats n the wild don’t even get comes they just get fixed n back at it again. So Nova will be fine
This month has been the saddest month for me I just lost my dad so unexpectedly April 12,2024
The cone you got for Nova...I got the same thing for my dogs when they were fixed...so much more comfortable
Having a full body MRI that only took a hour is crazy to me. I had a MRI on my heart and it was suppose to take 30-40 minutes and it took over a hour and everything came back normal. So I can't even imagine doing this I'd be in there for like 5 hours I bet especially because Ik there's a lot wrong with my body 😭😭😭
If cancer runs in your family, definitely talk with yours and your kid's doctor. It's never too early to help prevent it.
That lavender flower for the cats head is so cute, it looks just like my large Easter pillow on my bed.
How much does the Prenuvo cost and does insurance cover it at all?
The full body scan is $2500. Insurance doesn’t cover it yet 😔
In the beginning of the video all I could look at was your one hoop you have in 😂
If you drink alcohol, its called alholic fatty liver. If you dont drink , its called non alcholic fatty liver of which i have too. Its very common
Metal, what about fixed retainers?
It's non permanent metal. Fixed retainers are permanent.
Permanent metal used in the body for things like rods, screws and other hardware and pacemakers are made of titanium which is perfectly safe and doesn't have a magnetic properties like other metals. Titanium doesn't cause metal detectors to go off where ever you encounter them in federal buildings, schools, airports and such. Given the hundreds of thousands of people who have something made of titanium in their bodies it would be a complete nightmare if titanium made the metal detectors go off resulting in major delays when going through security. Anyone who has artificial knees, hip replacement, screws, plates, rods, and any other titanium hardware used to fix broken bones, Scoliosis, spinal surgeries and fusions would have to carry a special medical card or have something on their ID that would indicate that they have surgical titanium in their bodies.
Oh, I like the cloth comes so much better! 👍🏽🐾💕
Question!!! How much did you pay for the MRI?
It’s about a little over 2k
I'm so early hurray 😁🎉 uploaded 2 minutes
Fatty liver can be reserved by change of diet.
