Heel does not mean lay down! The heel commamd is to teach your dog to follow alongside the heel of your foot on the side they are walking on. While walking forward or Changing directions you say heel to them. So that way they walk next to you instead of in front of you.

Heel literally mean to walk next to...if your gunna train a puppy train them with the right words..."Heel is a pet command that is used to train dogs to walk in a specific pattern that is usually close to the owner. It is usually accompanied by the use of a leash and can be used to teach the dog to stay beside the owner, or to walk right beside them in a specific pattern"

actually a lot of working dogs get trained with made up words or in different languages or whatever, so that strangers can‘t give them commands or they get confused by other people working their dogs. I realize that‘s not what‘s going on here, but in all reality it‘s not like that puppy is going to get a dictionary and check the words. Or talk about it with other dogs. So long as anybody who works with the dog knows the commands it‘ll be fine …

Hey Jessica you’re puppy is so cute! Please stay away from retractable leashes. Because once you start training to go on walks it’s best if she walks close to you. And if she pulls you on the walk it’s easier for you to pull her back with a regular leash. Also the retractable leashes can rip your skin if it comes in with your hands or if she decides to wrap herself around your legs. So stick to regular leashes. Enjoy your time with your new pup!!

    • @ashleighdean6943

I can confirm this! I had a dog when I was younger and he got really excited once and wrapped the extendable lead around my thigh, causing it to burn me as the one we had was fabric. It has left me with a scar as well.
If you have to get a retractable lead, please go with something softer rather than fabric.

When redoing the plants please make sure they are all nontoxic for dogs! You would be surprised by some of the plants/flowers that can be toxic for them!
Also the new trick is actually lay down/down heel is when you want the pup to walk next to you!
Some tricks I think you should start working on if you haven’t already is leave it/drop it in case she picks up something dangerous and stay to get her to stay back in a variety of situations (like if you spilled something, left the door open, etc.)
Last thing I’ll say- sticks are fine for dogs! Definitely still keep an eye on her with them but with everything a puppy could get into the sticks are the least concerning!

I would also try to avoid walking and very active play after eating a large meal to reduce the risk. This is more for when she's older but think it's better for you to be aware, with having a large breed dog. I've seen quite a few cases with these types of breeds in hospital. ❤

I have a 2 year old goldendoodle, the only thing I would recommend with them is clean their ears at least once a week, and this breed tends to have an allergy to chicken in dog food which can cause ear infections too. We've had ear issues with our dog for the past year, and just now getting it under control.

She’s adorable. Dogs are the best. The kids look so excited. I do have one suggestion. I’m not really sure this is a thing
Or not but I see you have an open electrical outlet in her enclosure. Maybe you can just put the outlet protectors just God forbid if she ever tried licking or chewing on it. I don’t know but I figured I would throw that out there. Good luck with your gorgeous fur baby. 🐾🐾🦴🦴

She is so cute!! Get her used to teeth brushing you can get doggy brushes and paste, it’ll really benefit her. Also don’t let her have sticks as they can get stuck in the roof of their mouth and causes infections

Hi Jess I have got a few dogs and I am very cautious as well. I have come to the conclusion that with my 9 week old golden doodle is some sticks are ok but generally stay away from pointy ones/ sharp ones. Dogs generally know how to swim but practice can be really beneficial to them. Grapes, and sultanas are poisonous. Check ingredients of things to make sure they can eat them and they are safe foods. Make sure to walk her on a harness so there is no pulling. Any other questions let me know as I am a dog trainer.

Try a vest when you take her for walk. It helps you you teach her not to pull when walking. Also I wouldn't attach the leash to her collar, it she pulls she could choke herself, the vest helps that not happen

Teach that dog to swim or get gates around that pool, if that puppy falls into the water she wont know what to do. If your not watching her she will most probably down. Also when there past 4 months old they should only be having breakfast and dinner and especially how many treats u give her daily she wont need lunch dogs dont get hungry like humans.
