    When you train Honey, you should switch the commands around. For example: don’t always say “shake” after “sit”. That way she knows that it’s two different commands. Another example, don’t have her “lay down” from “sit”, sometimes have her lay down from standing.

    Leave a towel, on rainy days, right inside the back door and wipe her feet off when she comes in. It doesn’t take everything away but sure helps. Oh and wipe her tummy too.

    If you get a lot of storms, you should put the trampoline in ground. You’ve got the diggers for the build. It might be an easy task.

    Something that worked really well with my puppy was getting waterless foam shampoo and rags by the doors. It'll also help her get used to her paws being touched (which will help with nail trimming). If you don't want the foam, you can get pet safe bath wipes 😊

    Jess for muddy paws we use a juice jug and wash a paw or 2 at a time, for spot training for pee and poo is key especially with a female, the pee will ruin your lawn, maybe you would consider adding a proper spot with a different base that can be watered down, some dog boarding or vet clinics may be able direct you on the right product, our vet has a pea gravel that can be cleaned regularly

    Suggestion for you... train Honey to sit at the door after being outside, to get her paws wiped.... same concept of having the shoes taken off before the kids come in. :)

    With regards to the muddy puppy paws what I do myself is make them wait (teach them this command very helpful one to have) then wipe their paws with a old rag and every time you go to each paw say paw and they’ll also learn this too! My dog immediately waits before venturing off our rug as he knows it’s wiping paws time 😂

    I’d definitely recommend having a cleaner once a week! I used to clean for a mini mansion once a week for six to seven hours! Now I’m cleaning somewhere a lot smaller for once a week for four hours! I feel like it makes it easier for you and the cleaner doing it every week because it doesn’t get quite as messy and so much faster to clean each time!

    They make tie down kits for trampolines. I'm glad it went into your pool because those things can take off flying through the air and cause a lot of damage. My sister's trampoline hit her neighbor's car and her neighbor's trampoline knocked her electric meter off her house but either time could have been much worse which is why I bought a tie down kit for our trampoline.

    It might help if you keep things near the back door to clean off and dry Money's paws before she comes inside. Something to consider adding is a concrete pad either with or without tile and a hand held sprayer for bathing Honey and the kids can also use it to clean off any mud or whatever. You can have both hot and cold water. As she gets bigger it will be easier to bathe her outside.

    as far as getting your house cleaned, do what you can afford. If you can afford to get it done weekly, do it weekly. You can also customize cleaning, say whole house floors and everything once a month and then maybe bathroom, kitchen and all floor work the other 3 weeks or something along those lines. A cleaner is so worth it. I did residential cleaning for 8 years..

    XD it always makes me laugh when someone whose not used to wind or rain or any other weather that I'm used to gets it and their not used to it. like power outages, heavy winds, heavy rain, that's all pretty seasonal where I live in NM, which is why I reccomend getting a generator, better to have one and not need it than to need it and not have it even if power outages are not common place.

    Little tip for bringing the Honey in during the rain, slightly have the door closed but to where you can hear her scratching or asking to come in then have someone ready to let her in and catch her to dry her / her paws off before coming inside...it helps a lot with muddy paw prints

    @MorganJoblin 6 місяців тому

    I used to be a house cleaner, I recommend for your house having a cleaner once a week or twice a month AT LEAST. You have a large house and a lot of traffic, trust me you and your cleaners would prefer more frequent cleanings because it works out to actually being cheaper for you and it’s more manageable for the cleaners. They’re less likely to miss spots because they’re maintaining clean instead of creating clean.

    When we were training our dogs, we locked them up in the crate when we were leaving the house until they were old enough not to have accidents and so they got used to the crate more. We still have our frenchie in a crate when no ones home, for his safety though since he has a back issue that we don't want to get worse from him jumping on and off the couches.

    We own three big hairy dogs we have a cleaning lady every other week. But there will always be dog hair so we just live with it and have her every other week and then we have a dog poop service come in the spring to clean our yard since we don’t pick it up during the winter since where I live we get a lot of snow. But then we just keep up with it until we get the next winter.
