38:07 Neil Gaiman has said that Aziraphale can always miracle his way out of things but he ENJOYS when Crowley does it/helps him, that it makes Aziraphale happy.
But just like you say: here we see Az is more than happy to help Anathema with the light, arm and bike. It’s such a subtle little part of his relationship with Crowley that he pretends to need help and give puppy eyes and Crowley loves to help even tho he knows the Angel can do it AAAGGHHHH
In the book, Pestilence retired in 1936 muttering about penicillin
Yeah, and "if only he knew what future would bring"...
"Are you friends with benefits? I mean depending on which fanfiction you are reading, I'm sure." I LOVE YOU 😂😂(51:36)
Humans not being good or evil but silly little decision makers is Terry Pratchett’s entire brand and I hope you try the Discworld books some day if you never have. Love how much you catch in this!
1:32:27 “that fire looks terrible” they actually set both the bookshop and the bentley on fire so i think that was real, although they did also use cgi fire so im not sure
The producers stated it was real fire and DT was not CGId into it. He quote was "paraphrased, "It's David Tennant. We got him in and out of the fire as quickly. Same response about the contact lens. It's David Tennant, those were contacts not CGI.
Re: Lack of doom
I feel like the lack is also because the end of the world doesn't technically kill our protagonists, it just ruins their little lives that they have built for themselves.
Re: The Bandstand
I love that we are introduced to the idea that A wants so much to 'save' or 'redeem' C, and C just wants to save their ability to be together. #foreshadowing
I also love that it isn't just one pining after the other, but both got attached pretty early on and just... don't communicate. #ninaandmaggieareright
"What does Aziraphale know? What is he trying to accomplish? Is he still trying to stop the apocalypse, or is he just trying to save Crowley's life at this point? We all know what Crowley is trying to do- hes trying to stop the apocalypse, but hes also just trying to carve out a space that he and Aziraphale can continue existing the way they do together. But Aziraphale is trying to save him, which might end up with them getting separated"
#prophecy ... ? #season2
Re: Order of Prophesies
They don't seem to be in order. They are numbered, but seem to come up more or less at random. Hence, the card system and endless study.
@@reasonablyreliablebruh stop spoiling her in the comment section smh
Neil Gaiman said they are asexual and that this was written to be romantic. You can feel and see that connection between them. I love it, cause I see that love develop between them in the show.
I remember reading that he has only realized that they accidentally wrote a romantic story after he reread GO. He also always says that canon is only what's written in the book or shown in the series, that those are 2 different canons and that he supports every headcanon anyone can have even if there is something in the canon that would contradict it. I absolutely love this mans view on stories and fan-interactions with those stories.
Correction: he said they're sexless not asexual, theirs a difference
@@phoenix_Mercury They're sexless unless they feel like Making An Effort, and genderless except when they feel like engaging with that.
@@iesika7387 the first part is correct(I have already said that🤦) the second is head cannon, gaiman has literally never said that
Yoooo i can't believe you talked over the "get thee behind me, foul fiend!" line. 😂
The 1941 scene when Crowley saves his books, it was canon that Aziraphale falls in love with Crowley. They’re very gay
how can beings without a gender be gay?
Gender is a human thing. Angels and demons don't need gender. They don't need to procreate
Oh my goodness i absolutely love good omens! Will you be watching season two? I’d absolutely love to see it!!
I don’t think she could right now because of the SAG-AFTRA strike
@@83croissant Gaiman, Tennant, Sheen and the team are promoting it. It's work already made, and they want to make GO 3, which is already outlined and partially scripted, and won't ever be made unless GO 2 is popular enough to encourage Amazon to sign up for it when the strike is resolved. People are even recommending just running it in the background, over and over, so it gets Amazon support for the next and final series.
@@m.b.6402 there’s been promos shot ahead of time, but are they actually CURRENTLY promoting it ?
@@m.b.6402they’re not promoting it now. They recorded promo/interviews before the strike.
@@UserName-vb4lg They are not doing formal promotion--instead they pre-recorded most of it and got it out before the deadline, so it's doing its job anyway--and they continue to talk in "private" forums, on social media, knowing that they can speak as themselves without breaking faith with their union ties. No one I have seen is arguing that they shouldn't support the show--it was made well before the strike with work done before the strike, and it won't be re-upped if it is not popular during the strike. They're not required to burn the fields and salt the earth of future projects to respect the no-work-now strike of the present.
With season 2 on its way, I rewatched your reaction and I'm impressed by your opinions. You went much deeper in the thought department and I liked that. What do you do with the time you have left and who will you spend it with. Very wise.
One of my favorite things about this show is the message about the power of independent thought. And how that is overall a good thing but also comes in shade of gray.
You’re react series was by far and away the best one for good omens I can find!!! I’ve been binging reactions to S1 on UA-cam since I’ll never be able to watch it fresh again and I’m losing my mind waiting for season 2
Thank you for literally picking up on all the plot points and quirks so quickly ! So many other reactors were missing so much of the goodness
shadwell and madam tracy’s storyline was actually much worse in the book. madam tracy is mostly unchanged but the show made shadwell much softer and more approachable like i can almost understand why madam tracy might be attracted to him. in the book he’s disgusting and grubby and racist and even more verbally abusive towards her so 🤷♀️
I can’t remember the exact quote but I also belive the book said “He was racist in such an indirect and specific way it was not remotely offending” or something
i sat through this all, i loved (re)watching the whole show with you. really enjoyed your insights and commentary. hope when the second season drops you'll react to that too! i personally can't wait to see it and have our fav angel-demon due back. i more or less remembered the whole story from the book for this first season but it's just so exciting to have a second season where i have no clue what to expect! i bet it'll be a really fun experience esp bc in my opinion you can never go wrong with a david tennant show. :D
Just tonight I came across your posts for season one and I must say that you caught onto what was going on in the show very, very fast. I enjoyed binging all the episodes at once, just as I did GO. I can't wait to see what you have to say about GO2. Thank you for this.
Hi. I just found you. Four minutes into the video and I just love your wit and energy. Kicking back now for two hours with you, Tennant & Sheen.
Ooo I can tell you’re a voice actor. You enunciate beautifully & your voice is mellifluous. Even your laugh is excellent!😃 I’d love to listen to u read the Good Omens audiobooks. Subscribed!
Little thing about the soldier who vanished from the airbase. He actually DID get sent to his parents house so ur joke was real.
The stuff you picked on about Adam was spot on. In the book, Adam is treated by the rest of the Them as even more unquestionable as a leader and its stated that it was impossible for anyone to think about him on a level deeper than superficial. He had no one in his life he could truly connect with who didn't continue putting him on a pedastool that his AntiChrist aura had influenced. Anathema calls him the sweetest kid in town even when she knows he's got a negative reputation, she's infinitely endeared to him. And when she dumps all the harsh realities of the world onto him in an attempt to endear him to fighting FOR the world, that pressure combined with his entire lifes role as a leader and King as well as his deeply ingrained loneliness led to a bundle of emotions he didn't have a hold on. Also the reason for Pestillence swapping to Pollution, to further present the theme of Adams spiral. The harsh reality of his childhood leaving him as hes forced to confront how the world is ending regardless of his influence, he's essentially having an existential crisis at far too early an age to make any rational grasp on it, with no one around to keep him emotionally grounded. It's an incredibly interesting take on the antichrist as a concept, to stuff it in the body of a young boy whos struggling to take in reality as his imagination shapes the world around him. Quite frankly its kinda a miracle that he managed to gain any sense of self control back.
Your reactions were very cool, and you had some great commentary! Cheers!
miranda richardson will be in season 2 as well but in a different role!! glad u commented on her great performance a few times, she’s fantastic B)
Late Comment i know, but to answer the question 4:27
The Latin for for evil is malum and the word for apple mālum. So the Fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil either became associated with it or it was a translation error.
The Old Testament was written in Hebrew/Aramaic. Not Latin.
@@UserName-vb4lg I made no such claim 🤨
In case you don't know, latin became the church language, and latin manuscripts where used in church
Maybe you missed that Elvis was working as a fry cook in that fast food place where Famine received his delivery.
This was fun to watch and to hear your take on things^^
And now I have to ask whether you have seen In the Flesh? It is a zombie mini-series BUT the premise is that the apocalypse is already over and a treatment has been found for these "Partially Deceased Syndrome" aka PDS sufferers. And they are sent back to their families who first of all had lost them in various ways to death and then had to fight/fear them when they rose. It is such a beautiful, fascinating story about humanity, otherness, loss and different kinds of love. I don't much care for zombie things but that one is the exception (and it has minimal gore).
Can't wait for season 2!! Loved your reactions, great supercut.
Leaving a comment to boost the algorithm!!! Your reaction is absolutely incredible!! Keep up the awesome work ❤
That was very enjoyable and I love your takes, I'm hoping you'll do a season 2 reaction!
I enjoy your reactions alot! Hope to get to see you again on season 2 :D
Sorry for ALLLL the comments BUT Neil said today that season 2 will be a mystery that is solvable piece by piece as you watch; so will you do reaction vids to season 2 and give your insight and try to solve the mystery? You seem so ON IT
Loved it! Hope you check out the second season
Is there a word joke behind the name Anathema Device? She laughed so there ought to be....😮
ah i really want to see your reaction to season two
The Bastille was not or near Versailles .

52:40 what's with fallen angels and ducks? x')
8:12 omg I love your wings and mine!
Hi. Sad that this video of the first season and your reactions are no longer on Patreon.😮😢
@@Miriam-eb2iu they aren't??? They definitely should be.
@@doctorcanonvo4647 when clicking on the video it says something like the video is no longer there and tries to redirect me to a different site, where i would have to sign up to be able to maybe see it.
@49:48 as someone raised S.B., I *felt* that! 💀
@59:13 HA!
@1:35:00 wrong, I have *upper* back pain
Great reaction! 💜🌈😈😇
If you like unique horror I reccomend you The Magnus Archives
In hindsight, if's a good thing that the human characters in this season aren't a highlight of season 2, given they were your least favourite part of the show.
season 2 is outttt
4:26 Ah, I see someone was t forced into Bible classes as a child-
❤❤❤Absolutely the BEST review/reaction content that has been created for this show. Your analysis had wonderful elements of humor, philosophy and wit. Incredibly well done. I just learned that Good Omens will have a Season 2 and I hope you will watch and create a review/analysis for that as well.❤❤❤
Do you plan on watching the second season?
It's really difficult for me to watch this because you are really talking non-stop😅 I'm constantly worried you're going to miss stuff.
