Can I just say, I love that you don't have a prerecorded intro and you seem to nail it every time 😍 I used to listen to your videos in the background and it wasn't until I got the time to sit down and watch, that I realized you actually say it each time 🤭 thank you for all of the effort you put in your content. I find you to have such a soothing presence 💚💚💚
What about your fern (I think) that you had to cut right back after only a few weeks, which then regrew but ended up being a tasty meal for those pesky little slugs ? 😊
Can we have a full Hoya collection update!? I may be a little obsessed with the genus right now. ☺️ Great videos. Always enjoy watching them.
I recently purchased the same small greenhouse from IKEA. I ran a bead of silicon caulk around edge of the frame on the top to seal the plexiglass. Then I used adhesive narrow door seal around the inside edge of the door to close the gap between the door and the frame. I use this small greenhouse for calathea and other cuttings that like higher humidity. I have a seedling mat in the bottom for warmth and saucers with rocks and water. The humidity level hovers between 65-70%.
L💚VED Y💚UR UPDATES... #PlantLivesMatter!!!
I love watching your past videos Claire, such a lovely collection. Are you planning / have you branched out to do some outdoor plants on your balcony? I notice it's a very useful space for growing a mini garden ! 💚
Hi Claire! First time commenting and I love your content! I would love to see an update on your giant P. White Princess. You inspired me to try and get mine as giant and beautiful as yours! ❤
I would love an update on your pink princess! I feel like I haven't seen much about her since she struggled after you moved house. I originally found you with your gorgeous pink princess care tips video.
Hi😊 I love your “easy plants”-video, but every time I see videos about “easy” plants, they always assume that an easy plant is one, which does not require attention and much watering…but you see, I am an “over-waterer” and I WANT to nurse and give my plants attention.😊 So, I was wondering if you could make a video about plants that need a lot of water or that don’t mind being watered a lot? They are honestly the ones that I would find to be easier, because I would not struggle with over-watering so much.☺️
Voodoo lilies are great! So weird, BUT...they stink to high heaven. They're also commonly called the corpse flower. That's because, when blooming, they mimic the smell of decomposing meat to attract pollinating insects. I don't have this particular one so I can't say for sure what yours might smell like, but I have Dracunculus vulgaris in my back yard, and the bloom is incredible to look at. It also reeks😂
🙏🏾 💯 for the Green 💚
I'm also growing anthuriums from seed in moss. I put mine under a grow light and they're growing relatively slowly. I had to replace the moss when their first leaves were about to unfurl because I noticed fungus gnat larvae. The roots already looked well established when I did. I wonder if they prioritise root growth/nutrients over leaf growth when there's more than enough light. I love your experiments. Please keep us posted :)
I also tried growing voodoo lilies, but unfortunately they didn't make it. They actually are closely related to alocasias! They're both part of the Aracae family. The flower blooms for only a day and emits a stench of rotting flesh and produces heat to attract flies. I'm not sure if it loses its leaves indoors, but apparently you can plant these outside in May. The tuber will keep growing and produce a plant each year.
Love the update, Claire! Glad to hear both of your chop and extends are going so well for you! I’m trying my own first chop and extend right now with my painted lady philodendron. Just made the chop today and letting it callous over now…fingers crossed but your experience served as a helpful roadmap and is giving me confidence that it will go ok!
In terms of other plant updates I’d love to see, I am still very curious to hear how your pink and white princesses are doing! It’s kind of sad to hear you’re not so into the PPP anymore since it used to be one of your favorites! Isn’t it strange how our interests can change so quickly? Do you feel like your falling out of love with the PPP was affected by its declining popularity in the plant world? For me at least, as much as I would like to think I am unaffected by trends, I must admit that they do influence me…and that bothers me! In any case, I would love to hear more about the journey you’ve been on with those two and what you’re planning to do with them next!
Oh my my, you have a sort of plant muséum 🥰 and the lovely green little babies.. and the green is really héalthy looking.. they are all so beautiful😀
Omgosh!!! So excited 🌵💚🪴
Try putting sphagnum moss on the top of your regale roots...
Thanks for sharing!
Aaaaaw I'm so glad you're having so much success with pon :)
What a gorgeous big prop box you have! I love how it all looks! SO organic and fresh all mixed together xx
The propagation station looks great!
I spied (I think) a calethea orbifoli? My favorite died. And a Chinese evergreen, I have a stunning red one.
Really wonderful update, great to see all the new growth
I Claire, just a guess with the silver sword, mine was out on the deck in summer and it started to go yellow at the top and middle leaves,it didn’t have any pests so I put it into a less bright spot and it solved the problem, that worked for me anyway!
That definitely is a syngonium frosted heart ,I just bought one, love it as it’s different to the regular shape! 💚🪴 Natalie
My lemon lime maranta is about to flower 🥹
That’s so exciting that you got a cutting of a fern leaf cactus! It’s such a cool plant.
My Calathea Medalion is flowering🎉 Happy plant mum!
I recently propagated my triostar to give to my sister who's just bought her own house. It's my first time propagating to give to someone else and now I think Im hooked, haha
My Regale looked like that for a long time too (it grows painfully slow in my experience). But mine is currently holding 4 leaves! You’ll get there 😀😉
That red coral cactus BEAUTIFUL right now! ..so I don't actually have a p. splended but my mature Squamiferum flowers every once in a while and it comes out in between the cataphyll and previous petiole like that, so although its pretty weird, it's possible that's what it is🤔 what a beautiful splendid though!!❤
like Planty Chat
Liking that ikea greenhouse, and shows in stock on the app. Must resist!
Love your update videos! It would be great to see more light vs. dark propagation experiments with different plants (alocasia would be an interesting one!) I'm wondering if your silver sword leaves might be getting burnt being so close to the light? Thanks for the great content 😊
i bought a bushy chrysocardium in a hanging basket last week, awesome plant. if your alocasias drop a leaf as soon as they grow one, try feed them more. else they will drain out the energy of the old leaf
I grow voodoo Lilly in Florida. Yes I pull up the bulbs in the late fall put them in paper bag in my garage. Plant in soil out side in spring. Partial shade
Probably wasting your time, depending on species… I leave mine in ground year round in kentucky
I am really curious how your Hoya terrarium is doing. I found that a really creative idea because you don’t see many hoyas in terraria. It is usually fittonia, asparagus, ferns and begonia and the like
Your fern leaf cacti loves more shade and moisture than the other ones. It will scorch in bright light. Ask me how I know.. lol.
I just got the greenhouse too and mercy is it costing more to do it up than the cabinet itself! If your lights have a metal backing - I would 100% suggest magnets to secure the lights to the inside! (Either super strong magnets from the outside holding on or some have mounting clips that you can screw into the wall and work very well with a smaller screw to magnetic hook bases - I’m not describing them well!) I’m curious if you weather stripped yours?
Hi! Sauromatum venosum i think you pretty much treat them how you would a caladium, so i would say that its time you pot it up now though.
my monkey tail cactus has got mealey bugs 😫 hardest plant to treat or what!! on the plus side my majestic and plowmanii are really sizing up which is making me sooo happy
Any chance you could do a video on pawn? Scary to me but seems like working well!!!
Was that a baby banana tree by the Frydek?😄I just got a cream splash too, such striking variegation.
I Just put my philodendron standleyana outsite in the garden she has the hole winter trips and cant seem te get rid of them of she survives she can Come indoors again in fall.
Voodoo Lilly is now on my wishlist!! That is so cool!! Never seen or heard of it, but I'll definitely be on the look out now! Lol Also my silver sword has been growing like crazy but the leaves are such babies, and the older ones are big....I don't understand...maybe I need to chop it??
Smaller new leaves usually indicate not liking the environment or care completely, try fertilizer, more lighting, consistent watering or repotting if needed.
The bulb one is ace and there is a bit on yoga and plant with roos on here she may have some advice
Looks so fub
Where are the clear acrylic window shelves from? 😍 thank you
Hello! 😊 I've recently found your channel and am loving all the planty content. I don't want to butt in but PLEASE don't just chop off the two yellowing leaves - it may need some further investigation first. I remember reading somewhere that a cause for yellowing leaves (especially in older leaves first ) could be a sign of nutrient deficiency. The plant pulls nutrients from the older leaves to feed the new and is essenti Ially using the old leaves as life-support. That may not be the case here, but please look into it before making any cuts.
Please let us know how you get on with the IKEA greenhouse. I'm trying it with my succulents but they've taken a bit of adjusting!
The bottom leaves on my 4 ft silver sword loses the bottom leaves randomly through the year. Im not sure why. First i thought id not watered it enough. Now that i water it a few days earlier it hasnt done it but i still dont think that was why. It started in the winter. Anyway i really hope yours picks up. Mine carried on as normal after i cut off each leaf with no more yellowing untill a good few months after.ive lost three all in. Now its grow8ng two at a time but they are really small.
Hi! I am flying to London from the US today and would love to visit plant shops you recommend! Any that are your “must sees”?
Will you be able to bring them back to the States?
Where is your top from??? ❤❤❤
❤❤❤
first off, you have such beautiful plants!!! Currently my Philodendron Florida Green is THRIVING!!! Thank the LORD, her leaves are getting bigger now that I have given her support and I am just so amazed by how beautiful she is ❤❤❤❤. Got any tips on getting a rhaphidophora hayi (shingle vine) to attach to a wooden board??? Thank you for your amazing planty videos 🎉❤🤗.
