I just got this monitor. I use on Windows 11 with auto HDR. It's plenty bright enough, and it's an absolute beast in terms of in-game performance.

Most people seem to misunderstand HDR. It's not about pure brightness, it's about the *_INCREASED DYNAMIC RANGE,_* which is extreme with the infinite contrast ratio of OLED panels.
The only exception being use in brightly-lit rooms, as he demonstrated here.

100% agree. I got my pre order and I sent it back because I’m not paying $1000 for how dim it was and 1440p fuck that shit. Give me 4k and double the brightness and I’d consider it. With how it was I was not impressed call me crazy.
**edit** before any shit talkers come around I did use it on windows 11 sdr and hdr. Using the windows slider for brightness as well which ruined sdr. I also used it with a MacBook Pro M1 Max and same situation. Not for me and I assume it’s to avoid burn in situations.

Hey there! I have been using this monitor for the past 2 days and have noticed on full screen games, it's SUPER DIM. When I put the game into windowed mode, or windowed full screen, it gets way brighter.
I am running HDR, and full brightness and it's very dim and disappointing.
Let me know if you have the same issue with the full screen/windowed mode issue with the brightness.
Some have said turning off the energy saving mode in the menu fixes it, but it did not for me, and you can only do this in SDR regardless.

@@TypeCTechReviews Of course! Please let me know how the full screen/windowed mode changes things for you. Also forgot to mention I noticed the brightness increasing when I turn adaptive sync off. I've boosted the default brightness on the nvidia controls to ~65-70% (+15% from default) and it looks great until I open the game in full screen. Looks beautiful in windowed fullscreen or windowed, but not ideal because I don't run competitive games like valorant at native res (I run at 1080p @ 240hz full screen).
Additionally, I've tried to connect this monitor to my macbook for work, and the colors are HORRIBLE and I've tried every setting possible.
I'll probably returning it and re-purchasing an XG27AQM (at full price because I bought one during Black Friday but returned because the LG OLED was announced) to use for both gaming and productivity. Super sad this monitor was an awful experience for me and others.
