    I am so glad you have such nice neighbors - especially to come over without you asking or knowing to help with the dock. Yes, you would have had a hard time with your order of materials coming in by plane had the dock been messed up.

(Love the Grumman Canoe) I was on a USN Contract on loan to the JASDF. A year or two at Iruma AB, my daughter was born, at Yokota, and the rest at Misawa AB. I was USAF ‘66-‘70, with two trips to Vietnam, then 4 years in the USN, then Grumman till I retired. Really enjoy your videos! Best wishes to you and your family!

I choose to film as much as I can while I'm out there, then make a video for every day I was out there. If I have enough footage, I'll make two videos of a single day. This allows me to practice making more videos, and post videos for longer between trips.

    Love your bandids!! They are the same brand as mine. LOL Work like a charm and can be mortified to fit nearly any need! I do a lot of work with my hands from car repairs making shelves and gardening. I am far more Klutzy than you are but I also pair that style of bandaid with some polysporin. Soaking in a saline solution helps prevent infection but who has time to stop to do that? Thank you again for yet another wonderful video!! After a soggy day getting back in the cabin later must have felt amazing with the wood stove heat. 🤩

    Good to see your getting the rest of the dock done.
    Cutting a finger like that is not fun. I have made many a band aid on the job and out in the woods pretty much the same way. I usually don’t have duct tape, but always have a roll of electrical tape.
    Here is another thing you might want to consider keeping in your cabin first aid kit. Minor cuts are no big deal when you’re out at the cabin. But a major cut that needs stitches in a whole different matter.
    I have cut myself badly before working in the woods. What I keep in my first aid kit is some of the small tubes of super glue the thin kind. It burns when you put it on, but it will glue the cut closed more than good enough to get you to a place where you can get proper medical attention.
    I learned this from building model airplanes. Can’t count the number of times I have glued my finger to a piece of balsa wood. I have even glued my fingers together a time or two. The stuff really works in a pinch.
    Have you added cleats to your deck yet?

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  3 місяці тому

      Yes we are! I have a small first aid kit out there right by the front door. For any substantial cut, I would bust that out. I'll have to add some super glue to it though, thats a great idea!
      My dad and I added 2 cleats to the dock last trip, and I add 2 or 3 more this trip. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    How does one go about buying a piece of land on a lake like you have done?

    • @OhashiOutdoors
      @OhashiOutdoors  3 місяці тому

      Lots of research, and visit the area you wan't to buy. My family and I took an AK vacation in 2022 and visited this property, and a few others around south central AK before purchasing. I recommend checking the websites of small, local real estate agents in the area you wan't to buy. There are also bigger websites like Land and Farm, Zillow, and Mossy Oak Realty; these all list properties for sale.
      Last, if there's a property you like, reach out to the owner. We originally bought the 5 acres next to this cabin. I reached out to the owner of the cabin to introduce myself, and ended up purchasing the land and cabin a few months later.
