1:10:49 "Manboobs, bellybutton and all" made me laugh😂😂😂 Also, you forgot to mention the scenes in which they showed Rusty's ghost train traveling towards the old iron bridge
Which is very odd, because you'd think they would look at how the railways operate in different countries and use them as concepts. But no, instead we have episodes of Thomas learning Kung Fu in China, sigh....
@edArgorriblePart of the problem is that the series, even in CGI, is supposedly set in the 50s or 60s - remember that Kenji is brand-new when he's introduced, and he's a 0 series Shinkansen. A lot of places would be unrecognizable to what they are today, China being the prime example.
Tbf, in Whistles and Sneezes, at least how Awdry originally wrote it, after Henry sneezed on the boys, he described them as "black as (n-word)s". As in the hard N-word.
Something I wanna mention is the deleted BWBA scene with Carlos. That scene was included in the original upload of the Free and Easy song on UA-cam before the movie premiered in uk cinemas, and it was up online for a few weeks I believe before Mattel removed the original upload, and replaced it with the final version. I went to see BWBA back when it originally premiered in uk cinemas around July 2018, and I can confirm the scene with Carlos was not in the movie at all.
* I believe the "deleted scene" from Percy Takes The Plunge is actually for books - most kids books of the TVS version of the episode likely cut out the Henry scene cause it's not really important, and the ending is instead Thomas making fun of Percy * This is probably true for a couple other episodes too, but I think it's most obvious here that the intent was just for books, since we do know in Season 3 they took photos for kids books of Thomas' Train so it wouldn't be exclusive to this episode
I also laughed when I saw that deleted scene from Sir Topham Hatt's Holiday when he looked down at his dirty trousers. Nice of you to bring up Gate-Crasher, Tug. It's a great piece of fan content and I never thought we'd receive an original fan story on Sir Lowham Hatt, but we got it, so that's cool.
7:53 What I really love about this shot is that it shows the model makers made an effort to be faithful to the books. They bothered to make it accurate to the books with the red brick single shed and stone sheds built onto it later.
The BWBA Carlos scene got online when the song Free and Easy was uploaded sometime before the movie aired. Lots of people disapproved of the scene and the video was soon after deleted and reuploaded without it, possibly because of the backlash
Another piece of deleted scene from “Duncan gets Spooked” was seeing the engine traveling to the bridge before it fell over and plunged into the ravine. Even though it’s obviously Skarloey’s prop with a dark gray color, It’s really mysterious and eerie to see it traveling- unaware it’s heading for its demise.
1:00:20 honestly I think they probably cut this scene because the Gordon scene where he congratulates Edward served pretty much the same purpose. Would still be cool to see the twins tho.
The first deleted scene you mentioned for Sir Topham Hatt's Holiday were Thomas pulls up by the station along with some other footage of Thomas pulling Annie and Clarabel in footage that never got used in any episodes was used in a video somebody made that put that footage together with a customized Season 5-styled Thomas theme. When watching that, it felt like a lost Season 5 episode had been found.
What i think is nuts about the deleted scene from "a close shave" is the fact that we can see see daylight through the the boards tells me this set was built to be destroyed on film: as in, they FILMED THE LARGE SCALE DUCK CRASHING INTO THE SHOP FROM THE INSIDE! Man I wanna see that footage
My own personal theory for Diesel's presence in Useful Party is to be a Debby-downer but in a different way. Edward expresses that he wants to help out with the party then Diesel rolls up. "It is a grand occasion, to be certain but without rails, you wouldn't be much help for garden party, will you?" Diesel rolls away and Edward is sad. I personally like how, in the final cut, Edward is mature and self-aware to acknowledge his own limitations, even if he is upset about it
Hope the wedding goes well, Nic. Best of luck to you and the soon-to-be wife for your biggest day and the honeymoon. This series is fascinating when it comes to unused content. When you're a kid and you watch Thomas on videotape or even DVD, you just naturally think everything flows, and then a song comes on and you see many shots you don't recognize. Look at Thomas We Love You. Most of that music video is just cut scenes from Season 3... Granted, I don't watch the show anymore, but if anything, it just makes me feel disappointed they never included deleted footage on DVDs. I get why they didn't, there's a lot of it (just look at those S5 rushes!!!), it all more than likely wouldn't fit on a standard DVD, not to mention most of it doesn't have any audio since I'm pretty sure they were shot silent, but the thought of having all that at your disposal would be pretty cool, especially at that age...
Whenever there are deleted scenes for an shows I always get a lot of joy out of them because they expand upon the show and add more to them and all the deleted scenes/behind the scenes footage for Thomas is just so awesome
Interesting how the second deleted scene for "Gordon and the Famous Visitor" features Duck being annoyed instead of amused, because in the book, when Duck says "He'll knock himself to bits." he shows more cynicism rather than amusement.
Man this is a long one, I was looking forward to this! Also I think City of Truro’s leaving scene was deleted because his prop was a static model which is one reason why his prop became scrap dressing. Great video as always Nic and congrats on the wedding!
"Why did they re-stage the scene in a different location in Gordon & The Famous Engine?" 2 main theories: 1) Season 3 was split up into 2 different blocks of filming. If the episode was filmed in the first block and they were told they needed the stills when they were filming the second block, it would have been MUCH easier to stage the shot in a new location than completely rebuild that part of the set 2) The shot was originally filmed in the station, but they wanted a more sweeping shot, which was more of Season 3's style.
10:53 Lmao this is literally a "10 Haunting Photos Taken Minutes Before Disaster" meme in the making. I think it was probably cut for being too scary in an otherwise very comedic episode. Also, I really love the presentation here.

Imagine those deleted scenes added to those episodes is REALLY intriguing, Unlucky Tug. Thanks for showing us those deleted scenes and the reasons why those didn't make the cut. Also Congratulations to your Marriage.
Awesome vid as usual! I've been meaning to say this to you, and that is: thank you SO much! Because you're the reason why I got back into the Thomas franchise (my childhood! ❤) and my love for both trains and Thomas ever since I found your channel. It made me realize how much I missed Thomas, both figuratively and literally, so much. And I absolutely love your content. Keep it up!
I'd argue the shot of the Ghost Engine traveling towards the bridge in DGS should be in this video. Yes, it could be considered just an "alternate shot" but it really changed the way I see the episode with a full view of the character from behind.
So the big thing that's missing, to me, is the deleted shots of the ghost engine in Duncan Gets Spooked. Both the shots of it getting shown off besides the bridge, and the alt version of the firefly ghost where they tried to use a practical effect to depict it
54:57 Arthur pulling coaches is something I wished I saw them do with him. 55:13 I also wished the same thing too, especially with the red express coaches. They just suit Arthur very well.
Don’t think the Missing Coach would’ve been too confusing at all. Yet, I did find Percy Takes The Plunge to be extremely confusing because it was like Percy made up a lie about braving water and keeping his promise when I was a child. Even to this very day, it’s completely ridiculous how they put Percy’s Promise into season 3 long after Percy Takes The Plunge. Now that’s more confusing than The Missing Coach and those still alive need to know it. Also, Diesel reappeared in the Christmas episode in season two despite being sent away. I get why Daisy wasn’t there because she shared the same face as Boco. It’s sad they didn’t make an extra face because episodes of Boco and Daisy together would’ve ideal because we didn’t see Daisy until season 3 after Percy’s Predicament. It would’ve been more interesting if they made another episode about Daisy whilst Percy was away being mended before introducing Boco. Boco would’ve been the perfect mentor to Daisy because he was a kind Diesel engine and showed respect for all. I think the episode Bullseye was also meant to be a season 2 episode because it Percy’s Predicament, the narrator states Daisy was frightened of bulls and Cows and remained very lazy and stubborn. Just watch those episodes and you will understand why I believe that because it fits perfectly.
Tbf, they did intend to film Percy’s Promise as part of season two, alongside Double Header and Gordon Goes Foreign. It was cut due to them not knowing how to make the flood scenes work, as early scripts show, since they weren’t used to live water for the show yet and were worried about damaging Percy’s model by having his chassis fully submerged
In "Toby and the Stout Gentleman," there's a photo of Toby traveling past the goods station near Tidmouth Sheds. They likely filmed it to line up with the narrator saying he takes goods to the engines on the mainline.
Great video really enjoyed looking at the many deleted and unused scenes that didn’t make the final episodes in both the classic model series and in some of the GGI series and movies of Thomas and friends thanks again Unlucky Tug for sharing this 👍❤️🚂
My favorite deleted scenes come from seasons 5 and 7 as they're the most interesting, the same goes for alternate angles as well. Also I think the deleted scenes with Harvey are actually the night before Percy's accident and they probably filmed that entire sequence at night but then decided to switch it to evening instead. Either way this is quite a lovely video. Who knows maybe taking a look at all the alternate angles of shots could be another video of its own. Once again great work Nic keep up the good work and congratulations on your marriage!
1:26:15 the way that panel flipped out made me think Carlos was originally meant to have that panel built into his smokebox, and could flip out for festivals and celebrations
I think the concept of the scene with the muddy Percy and Thomas was that he was pulled outalong the rails, not with a crane. Someone mentioned (and is probably right about) it most likely being for a book version, which kinda makes sense, because when too many scenes and visual changes are happening in a short span of time, it can be hard for very young children to put together, especially if they aren't good or are unable to read.
There I was thinking this was gonna be the Season 10 Retrospective. Still, this one was great! Speaking of which, I want to give thanks for the inspiration I got from your Sodor's Finest of Diesel, which led to me making a video on Emily and the Special Coaches that was very successful. You made some very good points!
40:44 "Botheration!", said the Fat Controller. "We're stuck!" And they were. This scene makes me laugh for two reasons. One: Michael Angelis (RIP), the UK narrator, saying "Botheration!"; and two: the still shot of Sir Topham Hatt leaning over the controls of the boat, upset that the vessel is stuck on a mud bank.
10:40 I was bracing myself for this segment, and I think I knew why subconsciously: This shot was used in the picture book Diesel's Devious Deed, and I remember being totally wigged out by it.
1. I'm pretty sure the Duck image was always mentioned to be stationary. 2. There are photos of Gordon pulling trucks up the hill in The Trouble with Mud 3. Idk if this is an actual shot or a promo pic, but Thomas and Gordon travel through an unused set during Paint Pots and Queens 4. What about that one shot of Oliver by the shore in Season 5 looking sad? It appeared in a book retelling Busy Going Backwards, which geographically makes no sense, and unlike the Season 4 promo pics there's only one character 5. The Haunted Henry scene with Gordon was adapted in My Thomas Story Library but with Thomas 6. The Spencer one would make a lot more sense if there were an alternate take of Spencer coming in the opposite direction 7. Not related to deleted scenes, but I'm convinced the Emily subplot in Salty's Stormy Tale was a last-minute add-on, because it was filmed after Bill, Ben and Fergus when Fergus' flywheel broke, and we see very little of the actual flywheel in the final episode 8. Do you think the rain scene from Ode to Gordon was originally intended for an episode (Don't Tell Thomas?), or specially shot footage?
1: I think Lee Pressman filmed The scene with Thomas, Percy and Harvey for “Three Cheers For Thomas” as part of the original script before he had to make changes. 2: I think the scene with Harvey bringing the second load of timber to the Flour mill in “Toby’s Windmill” implies that his role was meant to be bigger. 3: There was an extended scene of Arthur and Percy passing each other at Maithwaite in “Something Fishy”.
I think the shot of Murdoch pulling a goods train through the set for "Gordon and Spencer" was an inspiration to how @theburiedtruck wrote his story, "Murdoch's whistle". 😂😂😂
With the photo of muddy Percy, I wonder if maybe they originally shot another scene in place of the one where Henry asks Percy if he liked he water. Maybe it was an alternate take where a muddy Percy went up to Thomas as they looked at the sign and had a similar conversation to what they'd had at the beginning or Thomas was given Henry's lines? That's one thought I'd had.
After reviewing the deleted scene from The Green Controller, I have a theory for why it was cut. Percy being in charge and causing a 3-engine pileup in the process (starting with 2 colliding and Toby colliding afterwards) probably made it too similar to Emily Knows Best, which also had a character cause a 3-engine pileup by being in charge and involving Toby in the crash.
A lot of your videos are good Tug, but, I’ve got to be honest here. This one is absolutely marvellous. Seeing these shots and stuff I’ve never seen before is like reliving it for the first time again.
22:34 I think I know why they changed to a blue sky. It says in the narration that the storm had passed what I’m guessing is that the storm is passed it is now sunny, but the aftermath has left the real slippery with leaves. So I think that’s why they changed the backstop.
@@ambrmthe wiki says the shot of an owl in the smelters yard (the one with a normal sized owl and a gigantic owl appearing out of nowhere) was supposed to be a deleted scene from scaredy engines
Love this video. However, I believe there are a few things that could be acknowledged. The scene of Thomas & Gordon at Tidmouth sheds in "Squeak, Rattle & Roll". Had this scene have occurred in the episode, Series 8 would have been the 1st series to feature Thomas in every episode. There's also the broken windmill after the storm in "Calling All Engines".
My theory about the Percy Takes The Plunge scene is that it's an alternate version of the ending. Percy was supposed to be pulled out by one of the other engines, similar to Gordon in Off The Rails, and Thomas is there to say "I told you so" to end the episode.
This is now one of my favorite videos from you Nick, it's very well done, the only thing I think you missed was a deleted shot from Percy and the trousers were some jam gets on a troublesome truck's face
Personally I would have included the picture of Bill and Ben on the waterfall bridge that the wiki claims is in “Heroes” (but I REALLY think it was the original ending for “One Good Turn”) but still a great video none the less. Also, congrats on your marriage and best wishes to you and your soon to be wife!
1:26:49 if memory serves correctly, I remember I followed BWBA closely before its release, and the official Thomas & Friends UA-cam channel actually uploaded a few music videos from the movie to promote it, one of them was Free & Easy, with the deleted scene intact, I remember watching that scene and being completely weirded out by it, clearly others were too, as the scene was cut from the movie, the original upload was deleted and the Free & Easy music video would later be reuploaded with the sun worshipper scene removed
There was a deleted scene with Oliver and Stepney passing each other while crossing the viaduct in Edward The Very Useful Engine. It was then reused in the Little Engines music video. Other than that really good video Nick 😊

Then after listening to Percy’s story and Edward offering an apology, the engines have a change of heart and praise Harvey.
1:10:49 "Manboobs, bellybutton and all" made me laugh😂😂😂
Also, you forgot to mention the scenes in which they showed Rusty's ghost train traveling towards the old iron bridge
Holy hell that sun worshipper scene. Yeah - these guys wanted to market Thomas to new countries and had no idea how to do it.
Which is very odd, because you'd think they would look at how the railways operate in different countries and use them as concepts. But no, instead we have episodes of Thomas learning Kung Fu in China, sigh....
“Thomas Accidentally Became Racist” and other stories. Coming soon to dvd
@@GiordanDiodato That is very true...
Duck's close shave was scary enough - I do NOT want to see that close-up of him barrelling right at the camera!
Right, it’s too much,
And yet, with Trainz, a capture program, Photoshop and your video editor of choice, it is so easy to recreate.
i do
* I believe the "deleted scene" from Percy Takes The Plunge is actually for books - most kids books of the TVS version of the episode likely cut out the Henry scene cause it's not really important, and the ending is instead Thomas making fun of Percy
* This is probably true for a couple other episodes too, but I think it's most obvious here that the intent was just for books, since we do know in Season 3 they took photos for kids books of Thomas' Train so it wouldn't be exclusive to this episode
I love how aces face in that deleted scene from bing world big adventures movie is basically what everyone else’s face is like when they see the scene
The Green Controller's deleted scene has fascinated me since the day I learned of it.
Imagine if bloopers could even be alternately ending
I prefer the deleted scenes from the green controller, then what we got. I agree with unlucky tugs too.
Nobody told me the fat hat was gonna be a devil. Thomas Lore is insane.
It would probably fit too well for the people who make the theories about the engines being slaves yet haven’t seen the show
"Except for these three shots of Thomas talking to Satan" -The Unlucky Tug.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 -Me.
We also see the engines crew briefly.
I personally like how, in the final cut, Edward is mature and self-aware to acknowledge his own limitations, even if he is upset about it
It is always so cool to stumble upon unused clips from the show. It makes you wonder what else from the behind the scenes we haven’t seen.
49:39 That's a pretty good impression of Angelis' James.
It actually is
9:54 "Don't call me dirty Percy" joke needs to be here!
DONT CALL ME DIRTY PERCY
😂😂
As a kid buying my first Thomas DVD, I was disappointed ☹️ that it had no BTS content whatsoever.
Now times have changed thanks to the internet.
Whenever there are deleted scenes for an shows I always get a lot of joy out of them because they expand upon the show and add more to them and all the deleted scenes/behind the scenes footage for Thomas is just so awesome
What if the bloopers in season 5 could even be alternate endings for it to happen
Tug, your ability to turn around such huge videos so fast is absolutely amazing.
You outdid yourself with this one. Well done.
Interesting how the second deleted scene for "Gordon and the Famous Visitor" features Duck being annoyed instead of amused, because in the book, when Duck says "He'll knock himself to bits." he shows more cynicism rather than amusement.
Alternate title: The Unlucky Tug tries to take about deleted scenes and accidentally explains the plots of half the show
This is probably the coolest video you’ve ever made. Like, just when I thought there was nothing left for me to learn from this series
Man this is a long one, I was looking forward to this! Also I think City of Truro’s leaving scene was deleted because his prop was a static model which is one reason why his prop became scrap dressing. Great video as always Nic and congrats on the wedding!
* I think the reshoot of Thomas and the Guard is because in the original scene, you can already see the guard next to the signal when Thomas stops
"Why did they re-stage the scene in a different location in Gordon & The Famous Engine?" 2 main theories:
1) Season 3 was split up into 2 different blocks of filming. If the episode was filmed in the first block and they were told they needed the stills when they were filming the second block, it would have been MUCH easier to stage the shot in a new location than completely rebuild that part of the set
2) The shot was originally filmed in the station, but they wanted a more sweeping shot, which was more of Season 3's style.
For whatever reason, because of the Busy Bee James in the thumbnail, my brain thought this was going to bee the Season 10 Retrospective.
Same bro XD
You're not alone on that one, mate.
Haha bee pun
@@CreativeTankEngineI think that might've been a typo. But people are running with it.

49:48 His James Impression is my everything
10:53 Lmao this is literally a "10 Haunting Photos Taken Minutes Before Disaster" meme in the making.
I think it was probably cut for being too scary in an otherwise very comedic episode.
Also, I really love the presentation here.
A scary live size Duck.
Truly terrifying!
42:10 Topham could have said "So I See!" while looking at his ruined trousers.
😂😂
I’ve always wanted to see all the deleted scenes thank you tug for showing us
The BTS photos of the models look so cool. They honestly make the NWR look like an actual railway IRL in my opinion.
Congrats on your marriage, Nic!

Amazing video Tug! Honestly I'm glad the Carlos scene was cut. It was so weird, like the rest of BWBA and the Paw Patrol wannabe that it was.
Hope you have an amazing wedding. Congrats to you and your future wife!
I'm not gonna lie, that James voice was pretty good!
Keep it up!
10:45,
Duck: *Hey how are ya?*
Both the shots of it getting shown off besides the bridge, and the alt version of the firefly ghost where they tried to use a practical effect to depict it
1:10:43 they also built a small scale devil sir topham that we’ve never seen a pic of on set, but it’s owned by Thomas tank merch
1:10:39 Finally, REAL proof that Topham truly is a ruthless dictator
I must say, your motion graphics are getting more and more impressive
Great video really enjoyed looking at the many deleted and unused scenes that didn’t make the final episodes in both the classic model series and in some of the GGI series and movies of Thomas and friends thanks again Unlucky Tug for sharing this 👍❤️🚂
Have a nickle everytime Tug says “In this one”
I would be Rich
My favorite deleted scenes come from seasons 5 and 7 as they're the most interesting, the same goes for alternate angles as well. Also I think the deleted scenes with Harvey are actually the night before Percy's accident and they probably filmed that entire sequence at night but then decided to switch it to evening instead. Either way this is quite a lovely video. Who knows maybe taking a look at all the alternate angles of shots could be another video of its own. Once again great work Nic keep up the good work and congratulations on your marriage!
9:54 DONT CALL ME DIRTY PERCY!
Great video! It was really cool to see the Thomas deleted scenes!
49:49
That James impression was perfect 👏👏👏👏👏
There I was thinking this was gonna be the Season 10 Retrospective. Still, this one was great!
Speaking of which, I want to give thanks for the inspiration I got from your Sodor's Finest of Diesel, which led to me making a video on Emily and the Special Coaches that was very successful. You made some very good points!
49:48 Nice James Impression Love it 👍
39:22 “Nice going, dipstick! Now how are we to get our goods trains to their destination?” James griped.
And Lady Hatt looking at the ordeal.
10:40 I was bracing myself for this segment, and I think I knew why subconsciously: This shot was used in the picture book Diesel's Devious Deed, and I remember being totally wigged out by it.
Thank you so much for the shoutout! It really means a lot ❤
1. I'm pretty sure the Duck image was always mentioned to be stationary.
2. There are photos of Gordon pulling trucks up the hill in The Trouble with Mud
3. Idk if this is an actual shot or a promo pic, but Thomas and Gordon travel through an unused set during Paint Pots and Queens
4. What about that one shot of Oliver by the shore in Season 5 looking sad? It appeared in a book retelling Busy Going Backwards, which geographically makes no sense, and unlike the Season 4 promo pics there's only one character
5. The Haunted Henry scene with Gordon was adapted in My Thomas Story Library but with Thomas
6. The Spencer one would make a lot more sense if there were an alternate take of Spencer coming in the opposite direction
7. Not related to deleted scenes, but I'm convinced the Emily subplot in Salty's Stormy Tale was a last-minute add-on, because it was filmed after Bill, Ben and Fergus when Fergus' flywheel broke, and we see very little of the actual flywheel in the final episode
Love it. Interesting, I never know that there are a lot of it during the tv series model era and lots of hard work put into it
0:50 I never had the thought that Sodor would consider Sir Topham Hatt himself as THE DEVIL.😈
A lot of your videos are good Tug, but, I’ve got to be honest here. This one is absolutely marvellous. Seeing these shots and stuff I’ve never seen before is like reliving it for the first time again.
6:13 they broken our glass! They broken our glass! 😂
22:34 I think I know why they changed to a blue sky. It says in the narration that the storm had passed what I’m guessing is that the storm is passed it is now sunny, but the aftermath has left the real slippery with leaves. So I think that’s why they changed the backstop.
49:48 That impression of James's voice by Michael Angelis sounded great 😄
it's good to see that some of the scenes didn't gone to waste
"BOO BOO CHOO CHOO" HAS SOOOOO MANY B-ROLL AND DELETED SCENES FROM SEASON 6!!!😊😊❤❤
I think most of those were shot specifically for the music video though
I must say this, Percy yawning is the most adorable thing I’ve seen in a while
Honestly Arthur pulling the red express coaches goes hard.
What I mean; 54:47 54:58
This is now one of my favorite videos from you Nick, it's very well done, the only thing I think you missed was a deleted shot from Percy and the trousers were some jam gets on a troublesome truck's face
49:49 God, that is a scarily good Michael Angelis impression, Tug.
Nothing beats Unlucky Tug Fridays!
49:48 Part 3 of unlucky tug being a great voice actor. Also the journey beyond sodor storyboards.
Didn't expect Risk of Rain music, but it does make for great background. Awesome video as usual.
39:31 The loss of the turntable has caused confusion"- Tug
"And delay!" -Me
Personally I would have included the picture of Bill and Ben on the waterfall bridge that the wiki claims is in “Heroes” (but I REALLY think it was the original ending for “One Good Turn”) but still a great video none the less.
