Bought Skoda Rider Plus Automatic. Great driving experience in an affordable, safe, solid, spacious family sedan minus the gimmicks! Cancelled KIA Sonet booking.
Am driving 1.6 AT for the past 5 year still fresh elegant , Inexplainable joy. It's a complete car !! Drives all the way to Kerala yearly twice from my Mumbai location no tension no tiredness !!

Price difference between manual and 7 speed DSG auto was 1L, now that they went for 6 speed torque converter to reduce costs, the difference increased to 1.5L :)
The difference from manual to dsg was also 1.30-1.50 lakhs
I own a rapid diesel dsg from one year , and it’s just class apart in driving experience. People who are planning to buy a car in this segment or price range just take a test drive of rapid.
Now Skoda needs to work on interior . Rapid's interior is so basic so I hope Skoda gonna make it attractive from inside also in next gen Rapid
Good review Saumil. What people are looking for perhaps is the comparison of this combo with the discontinued TDI + DSG. And I guess the Style variant is better than Monte Carlo because of additional side airbags.
I am using it (Diesel)from last 7 months. All I can say Superb. On Highway it is really like a rocket.
The D3-D2 jerk has been a known issue in the DSGs and it's surprising it's there even with the TC gearbox. Makes you wonder if it was an issue with the DSG in the first place or just the tuning of the gearbox.
So Rider+ AT gets a 6.5” touchscreen over the manual?
Just bought Rider plus AT recently! It's a classy looking, fun to drive, solid, safe as well as an affordable family car without the gimmicks! Loving it!
Indian Rapid styling hasn't changed since 5 years.. But every year they say it's NEW RAPID..😇
If someone from Skoda is seeing this comment, please change or add to be in the competition.
1. Change Tail lamp (bring European Variant)
2. Add Sunroof (even hatchbacks are offering now a days)
3. Paddle shift (The wonderful DSG engine with paddle shift will give more respect to Indian buyers)
Good interiors, polished exterior, refined automatic.
I don't care about the lack of change, unnecessary change is pointless.
The car is very very nice.
The new skoda rapid is still a great looking car, that's good to drive as well, the engine and performance is also is very good. What could have better is the design of the interior which is little dated , it doesn't fell like 2020 car. Hope when next gen comes the whole car will be updated in terms of good features and interior design to.
Any idea if the next gen Rapid is coming to India in 2021?

Will skoda rapid next gen come in oct 2021?
The price that you are spending on a car, superior build quality and the best engine in its segment and even better in next segment when comparing with cars like Civic is more important. I dont think spending 4 to 5 lakhs more in its rivals for features likes sunroof and good looking interiors is only a second concern. Interior of rapid is absolutely practical and to know its build quality, just hold its door and front bonnet.

Well, this car is a showpiece in showrooms as Skoda India's production has halted for the year and waiting periods over 3 months is crazy!!!!
Why change something when it's not broken , that's skoda's policy I guess.
If someone can help me with knowing whether Skoda Rapid next gen is coming to India in 2021? I want to buy the Onyx Automatic but I have learnt that the next gen will be launched next year.
It may be released in late 2021. Skoda focused on their next generation vehicles in an order. First Superb(launched already) next Octavia planned in early or mid 2021. And then finally Rapid. But I expect Rapid 2021 would be expensive considering the build quality compared to it's rivals. Go for Onyx Rapid. A balanced car.

I recently bought the Style variant. The latest android infotainment system which comes company fitted is absolute garbage. Even after 2 time replacement, doesn't work properly.
•Pathetic touch response.
•Not at all user friendly.
•Doesn't suppport iOS connectivity even if the Skoda claims they have in-built app to do so.
•No stability in wifi connection.
•No OTA updates.
•Bluetooth connection issues.
•Chinese cheap tablet with Skoda's interface.
If anyone planning to buy kindly consider above points and do not opt for Style or Monte Carlo variant unless they give you Orginal Skoda/VW Infotainment system which comes with Ambitious model.

Depends upon your driving style. If you are a guy who is light on throttle then expect around 14.

I personally like this brand but the exterior look remained same and the dashboard is boring and outdated. Overall not impressive at all.

Honda city might be a good option but the enjoyment is different on both cars but in a positive way. And fir the people who are avoiding rapid for a smaller car with tablet are really gonna cry when they see the difference in driving experience.
One thing is for sure the Honda atleast will last so much longer than a skoda

because a sedan is less likely to topple over, has better aerodynamics, and much better driving dynamics.
