Are you kidding me ? It's probably the best Car in its class around corners. This has a stiffest suspension, which does takes away some comfort but proves to be a boon around corner.

as I've been an owner of fiat and tata brands, but know thinking of adding skoda rapid in my room.
love their superb fit, finish and build quality.
Past 2 years am enjoying Rapid 1.6 AT drove from Mumbai up to kerala 2 times during vacations ..... Simply.......... Superb car .... This is my 5th car but this is the best out of all my old cars !!
i own a skoda rapid 1.6 TDI and i must say it is a beast in performance.. i can easily cloak 140 Kmph without any effort and it still gives a decent mileage of 14-16 km per ltr.. absolutely loves my vehicle except the drastic after sales support.. this car is built like a tank too.. by far the best handling sedan in its class... any enthusiasts will love the engine..

taffy dcruz you're lucky u got the 1.6. the 1.5 isnt as explosive in peformance as 1.6. if u maintain it well u can enjoy it for long. as all the newer engines arent as great.

getting a maruti / hyundai, might have been a choice of majority of our society, bcoz of low cost maintenance & great mileage due 2 its thin light body. but it z definitely very weak n more prone 2 injury / life risk in case of any accident. d cost of maintenance isnt costly than ur life. thats why most of d people now a days prefer german engineering. intelligent ppl are preferring vw polo (hatchback with sheer built quality) over maruti dzire(compact sedan with very light body structure), as both costs around 8-9 lakhs. life z precious. dont bank on d afterlife.
I almost comment the same on many posts. I bought a POLO 6 years back and its running and look brand new even today after doing 70K on ODO. Primarily because its metal sheet and paint quality is as good as their own premium brands like Audi/Porshe. No problem in Engine till date and not a single rupee spend other than service. I literally HATE other brands now as I feel they are making Indians fool by charging 10 lacs at the name of tin can which doesn't even have proper wheel claddings, leave aside 100% galvanized body which is a norm in VW.
What about its rival Honda City. Is it as safe as a Skoda?
Hyundai isn't bad now

What good is a car if you can't comfortably seat 4 people..
You may talk all you want.. but this is a known issue.. ☺️ not everyone is willing to adjust with non existent leg room.
This is my gripe with the polo.. make it 3.9 metres with slightly more leg room and I will buy it.
Until then... Honda jazz is a better pick....
(Please don't bring in the weight factor.. Honda jazz is 1045 kgs while the polo 1.0 is 1030 kgs)
I think they are both built well.. I like the Polo s paint slightly more the Honda's .. but it's not a big difference.. ☺️

Yes, it's as safe as Skoda..
I had my doubts over the new City..
Looked at much crash and accident reports...
I can conclude that Honda city current gen is a safe car.. as safe as the rapid..
The slight weight reduction appears to be due to the use of high tensile metal.
As of noe.. it's safe...Let's hope they keep it that way..

These 2 are really good cars..
Just that.. rapid is not as spacious as the City which feels like a D class sedan..
We have the older ANHC in our family.. and the new city is even bigger than the one we have.. ☺️

Nice review. I would like to share my my experience with you guys as owning the colour (Carbon Steel) DSG Skoda Rapid 2017. The car is best handler in its segment. The colour looks beautiful i personally don't like the braking on automatic cars (this is a person to person view) . I've grown in love with this car have ridden it 10,000 Km in 3 months. Few problems i've faced if you sit up 4/5 people in car the car is sure to scrape on speed breakers . The mud flaps are very easy to break over our Indian roads. DRL cannot be switched off ( that can be irritating for some) . This car is absolutely worth the ₹. The ride might be too hard for some people's liking
Beauty of cars comes with lights please make a video on lights which on cars looks fabulous

Rapid is the best car in the segment. Using it for 4 years now. Used other cars from the segment but nothing like this. Skoda service has improved a lot & now i feel its good nothing to complain.Just go for it.

After two years of using it normally I upgrade stock tires to 225-50-15 And stage one code 6 ,now its like a beast, mileage also increased
why there is difference b/w back side of monte carlo edition lanched in India and monte carlo lanched in other countries . Back side is little bit lifted upwards like sports cars in monte carlo edition lanched in countries other than India
Rapid and vento both r twins.
After buying a vento I was in doubt for about a year as I made a mistake instead of buying a Japanese car. But after a year I got a chance to ride honda city for about 40 kilometres and thereafter I realised my decision was right. And also i decided never to buy the Japanese Korean toys. Japanese and Korean cars cannot give u so much of safety, which u can feel in Volkswagen, its a class above the honda Toyota and many other. Moreover Japanese cars looks so ugly, Volkswagen looks as beautiful as a Taj Mahal, which can never goes out of date
My suggestion to others don't become fools, if u feel Volkswagen is expensive then I will suggest u to buy a used vento instead of swift i20 honda Toyota, which will be more cost cheaper then Japanese and Korean cars.
Škoda is doing a great job and I can see why their sales are increasing.Škoda Rapid definitely is the best looking car in its segment.

The best in class sedan. compared to Vento or City, 7 speed DSG Automatic Transmission remains the differentiating factor. With day running lights & a front grill similar to that of Octavia / Superb, this is definitely worth it. Awaiting 2017 make cars to come to book it!

yeah they should facelift it by adding a sunroof or so still i love the way it is. I dont really like TDI engines TSI works more responsively and doesn't go deep in your pocket. The 1 or 2 lakhs extra on diesel car or a little extra on petrol fuel ITS THE SAME any way you look at it .

Rapid is better than City & Ciaz. you can feel the power pf Engine while driving it. also i love it's simplistic look.

Nah, i own one. And it is crazy good.
Vishruth Raja lot of polos n vento tsi on road. so far havent heard of any issues. just make sure u service car when its due that is once every year and when u stop at a signal for long always shift to neutral. in D mode if u stop for long thrs risk of clutch burning out as its a dual clutch and the next gear is engaged waiting to change.

If you want solid german build, driving pleasure, understated appearance, safety buy Skoda rapid/vento.
If you need powerful diesel, style, good aftersales, resale and high quality interiors buy 2018 verna, if you dont mind an average engine honda gives a good mix of all.., buy ciaz if value for money is your priority.....

I get what is considered "great and amazing" in some parts of the world.
At the price this car is being offered... People aren't looking for best drag times... they're looking for good fuel efficiency and a decent power.... Fuel efficiency and maintenance cost play a really important role here.
It depends on the market and the pricing that market is used to as well... For ex iphone10 is considered really expensive @1000 US dollars in America.... But if the same phone would be offered at that price in India...their sales would hit the roof top.

Screw this, I'm waiting for Fiat Egea/tippo to launch in India which is far better looking than Rapid and Vento. But any idea when it's gonna launch?
Given Fiat's current state of affairs, they seem to be still in the waiting. Expect the Tipo to drop in by end 2018. That will surely shake the C2 segment big time!

Harsh 1 I own a Fiat Punto diesel. The car has done 125000 km in 7 years. The car is mechanically fine with only periodical service being done. That being said, the interior quality is very bad with low quality plastics that'll fall apart after a few years. Also my experience with the service networks wasn't the best. If you only care about the diesel engine that wouldn't give up then go for it. If you want anything more, steer clear of Fiat.
P.S: Don't buy automatics from Fiat. They have a bad reputation globally.

In petrol automatic, Vento for sure is the better option as it comes with the 1.2L TSI engine mated to the 7 speed DSG transmission while the rapid gets none of that !
Rapid has 6 speed, vento has 7 speed auto. Vento has turbocharged tsi engine but this new vento looks dope. Killer front looks. Totally confused.

Skoda after sales service is still as terrible as ever. Can't buy this for that sole reason.
R R almost all car buyers have these problems in India. no one want to support after payment done.
R R If you have a Royal Enfield, you will not feel this is a problem. It all boils down to managing people and relationships. Don't think this shluld deter you from buying what is a truly mangificient car in ita class with no real rivals.

Can it beat Verna in long race??
its usually 180-185 comfortably for a DSG equipped 110bhp-ish engines.. but guess it can do 190-193kph given a longer open stretch.. Linea T-jet Does around 192-ish with 114bhp but 209nm Torque and 5 speed manual.. this has THE DSG 7 speed and 40nm more Torque and almost same Horsepower..

Supreeth nayak I took a test drive of city automatic a few months back. It may have been impressive 5 or 6 years back. Now its just dated, and don't even get me started on the "CVT"!! It looks ugly too.
