- The Skoda Rapid has received a change of heart. So under the old bonnet now sits a new engine, which is a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol. Nice review Mr.Nair, this is the first review i saw of yours ,pretty calm & composed when compared to many other over hyped reviewers. Waiting for Automatic review,please do share shortly. Being a polo 1.2 petrol owner, im totally inclined towards rider turbo petrol. For many ppl who are confused,these cars offer fantastic ride quality with solid build n these are what we should expect from any car,arent we? or just the bling factors? Hi Arbaaz. Skoda is working on a replacement for the Rapid. It will be based on the MQB A0-IN platform and will get completely revamped exteriors and interiors. Thank you 😊

Frequent gear shifts becomes necessary once below 1500 rpm which is a concern in traffic. That makes the riding difficult in city which I am facing with my ford figo diesel also.
Having said that how about an AT rapid? Will the change from a diesel figo to petrol AT a mistake or burn the pocket more than expected?
The Rapid AT will be introduced on 17 Sep. We strongly believe that a petrol AT will be considerably less efficient than a diesel MT.
2nd gear pe 100 tak chala o, no problem in gear shifting, bar bar gear change karne ki jyada jarurat hi nahi hain
How many Rapid versions are there at this point? :-D There is the original European version, the new facelifted Russian version and then this Indian(?) one. Unbelieavable.

Which variant is the best?
Hi Pranav. We'd recommend the top-spec Monte Carlo trim as it comes with all the bells and whistles. If you have a budget constraint, then even the lower variants are well packaged and priced. Thank you 😊
Hieght adjust + cruise + fog lamps + projector headlights should be in all car models. For safety reasons

I cant park this machine in my city drive and i go through pocket roads i cant turn this one easily 😥. But width of rapid is same as amaze love it.😍
Not only for me we indians use a car in city and highways. So in future make a compact sedan of length 13 feet and width of same 5.6 ft.

I drive both cars, and trust me rapid rider performance is awesome, so powerfull engine, suspension and feels luxury

Mkar the back seat spacious + remove the transmission tunnel ( so that middle passenger can sit comfortably ) and then this car can beat the Honda city

Why does every car reviewer reviews only the Monte Carlo version. This car is old and everyone obviously would not pay the higher price tag Skoda demands. So enthusiasts who want that TSI engine would likely go for the Rider Plus or the Ambition.

Only the base rider model makes sense, anything above can't match the competition. Puny 1.0 three cylinder engine in a 10L plus car is absurd
I get your point. That's how I felt until I drove the car.
@@sandyboy775 Performance will be punchy thanks to its turbo but with age turbos wear out and the 1.0 engine can't compensate the power loss. An inline 4 turbo could have been offered in the higher spec models. Anyways, loved the review!

Not too much chrome not too less chrome... Look at style variant and carbon black.. trust me it rocks!!!
If u look at a 3 4 year old verna it looks outdated yet rapid is kinda timeless 5 years later it will still look good..
Anyhow those who buy cars on outer look are really atupid people accoirding to me...

What ever may be , but after sales service and customer support is worst.
If anyone wants to buy tension with a new car then go for SKODA...
If u want real peace of mind then don't go for specially SKODA OR VW group cars....
Sure, Skoda is lacking in the after-sales department, but under the India 2.0 project with over 90 percent localization, we expect Skoda and Volkswagen to improve its after-sales services considerably.
Buy there 4 years plan and live in peace
