    Would the coco-apricot wax be too soft for the melts? Would you recommend adding some bees wax with it in making melts? Thank you!

    I noticed you didn't mention q cure time for the wax melt. Do you not need to cure with the type of wax you used in this video?

    Isn’t the virgin coconut soy wax too soft for this? I had some leftover wax the other night and poured it Into my clamshell and it was too soft aftwerwards.

    • @julieaviles2458

      I've tried making melts with the coconut soy and had a very hard time getting it out of the mold...I used the clamshell. It does not make good molds, it is way too soft and there was a lot of residue in the clamshell. This wax for me makes a way better candle....burns nicely and pretty much burns all of the wax. I would not use this wax for the molds though. I guess if we put it in the fridge it would harden up enough but you shouldn't have to do that.

      We have many customers who use this wax for clamshells and tarts!

    • @julieaviles2458
      @julieaviles2458 3 роки тому +4

      Of course you can use it for melts and tarts but it leaves wax residue and it is a very soft wax, it crumbles as I try to pry it out or break up the little blocks. Unless there is something I'm doing that is compromising the integrity of the wax??

    Hey could you help me with colour dye? So I'm using a paraffin and stearin mix blend because I want to make mould candles, with a really bright colour! So I bought candle wax instead of liquid dye? Do you know where/ how I can get information on this? Thank you :D

    Newbie here ! Why did you decide to use 7-8%? If you use 12% does that mean your hot and cold throw will be stronger? Thank you!

    • @makesyofficial
      @makesyofficial  3 роки тому +1

      In some fragrances yes! But more doesn't always equal a stronger throw. In melts, some people use even up to 15% load!

      Beeswax is actually great for melts since it is a hard and brittle wax.

    Would any wooden wicks be good to use for pillar candles? Im not sure if it looks right but I’m still more concerned if it would melt properly

      Yes!! We have customers who make these. Just wick down from the recommended size so you don't form a full melt pool.

    I love the look of the botanicals but I am paranoid about how they burn, especially if selling them and a customer leaves the wax warmer on for too long, or if the one they're using is higher heat, etc. Is there any safety issues with these in wax melts? I know it is probably pretty slim chances of them catching fire without a flame but just still worries me =)

    • @makesyofficial
      @makesyofficial  3 роки тому +2

      Hi there! :) There are no safety issues with them on a wax warmer, only if exposed to a direct flame. Hope this helps!
