    You are amazing. Thank you for not being selfish for sharing how to do these things. I wanted to do something for an add-on to my small business (I sew handmade drawstring bags and other things). I wanted to make candles, however with my color aesthetic, its hard to find matte black candle jars for 6oz's. The three suppliers I checked into, are sold out. And it really saddened me because I had JUST created my labels for 6 scents I will be launching. Then I thought what about wax melts. I've made candles before a long time ago but never to sell, I never dabbled in tart making.
    I stumbled on your channel doing a generalized search for tart wax making, and found you. Thank you from my heart!!!

    • @LadyCIMONNECandleCo
      @LadyCIMONNECandleCo  3 роки тому

      Deanna Branch Hi!!! Awww thank you so much! ❤️
      So the math will depend on how much wax can be held at the wax fill line!
      So I use 9oz jars but it hold 7oz. I use grams, so I converted that to grams; and I use a 10% fragrance load. So here is my math that I found has worked for me:
      Net Weight / 100% + FO%
      198g / 100% + 10%
      198 / 110% = 180g
      So 180g is how much wax I measure out for one candle. So to know how much fragrance I need to reach 198g for fill to my jar line,
      198-180=18
      So 18g of FO
      Hope this helps!

    Hi. Thanks for sharing! So after using this video as a guiding tool I couldn’t figure out why I only filled 3 tart containers. Eventually I came to the conclusion that the melting pot alone weighs 8.64. Therefore, I would say 16 oz minus the melting tool so that beginners do not get confused. I still measured 1 oz of fragrance so I hope isn’t too strong. Any suggestions pertaining to measuring?

    Just a helpful suggestion. I make candles as well. I was using a battery operated scale. Well, it started to act up. While I was looking for a new one, I stumbled onto this point. I read, that in battery operated scales as the batteries get old your, or the scales measurements may be off. So, I suggest get a scale you can plug in, that way the measurements are always correct. What do you think about pouring at a lower temperature? 135-150? Also do you still add FO at 185ish or 160? Or do you add at 160 just for your candles? Right now I’m doing a bunch of snap bars for a Christmas drop and staying away from candles at the moment. Wicking will be the death of me. 😅

    Love ur videos ❤️ I have a question My clamshell instructions say to pour at 140 degrees but when it cools it has a lot of frosting on top...I do use soy wax How do I prevent the frosting issue bcus they don't look really nice like that? I do add color I feel that's too low of a temperature to pour but that's according to the instructions TIA 🙂

      It’s nothing else you can really do; it’s just the nature of the wax. It happens to mine too but it doesn’t really bother me or my customers. Especially because my label covers it in the package.
      Color actually makes it show up worse.
