I’ve had a friend work at Disney and he told me most of his coworkers or managers were some of the most toxic people you will ever meet. From just rudeness, unwillingness to really show you anything, snitching on you for the dumbest reasons, the managers scheduling being messed up or not giving you days you specifically asked not to work.

The math test gave me some slapping urges. I had an interview for a job at McDonald's where they insisted that I would put 2am at my max clock out time. And I really mean INSISTED. And I said "No, I won't work past midnight because that's when the last trains go and I need train to get home." They were so dismissive, saying stuff like "Ok, it would be a significant help for you to get a job" etc... The thing is, they're McDonald's. I knew they needed people at every hour of the day, and I knew she was bullshitting me. And surely enough, I got a job, where they made me work from the earliest time I've put (9am) to the latest (midnight) with a massive 3 hours gap in the middle. And with 3 hours, I didn't have time to properly get home. I could, but I'd stay one hour and then leave immediatly so it wasn't worth it. And so I'd stay in the McDonald's on a 3 hours break. Big companies treat you like a video game NPC, and the way they push you towards it at the interview is repulsive.
When I worked at Disney we left at 2AM. Some Disney shifts started at 5AM. After one year, you could bid on shift "lines" which were definite start and stop times, -some sanity. But don't expect a traditional weekend day off for the first 5 years. The Unions at Disney did get some us some great benefits. I don't believe the Unions are there anymore except for the professional entertainers/artists.

I took the Disney Math test. It's the basics: add, subtract, and multiply. You were not required to take it for Transport, Landscape, or Custodial. But you could transfer from Transport into something that requires the test w/o taking it!

My mothers cousin and her husband met when working for Disney. They still say it was their favourite place to work, one in food & beverage and the other in the retail. They go at least once a year (we live in Canada) and even got married there. 🥰

After watching all the confessios and revenge story, i would say that Disney did him dirty with the managers. He loved his job so freakin much but you guys made it painful for him. The revenge story made me cry at the end because it was so sweet
Maybe they recognized what sort of "quality" employee he was from the start but needed bodies in certain positions and was willing to give him a go anyways. His story telling is very entertaining, but I assure you if half of what he was saying is true, he was a shit employee who didn't really want to work for it. I am glad he seems to have found success in life though.

My mothers cousin and her husband met when working for Disney. They still say it was their favourite place to work, one in food & beverage and the other in the retail. They go at least once a year (we live in Canada) and even got married there. 🥰

After watching all the confessios and revenge story, i would say that Disney did him dirty with the managers. He loved his job so freakin much but you guys made it painful for him. The revenge story made me cry at the end because it was so sweet
Maybe they recognized what sort of "quality" employee he was from the start but needed bodies in certain positions and was willing to give him a go anyways. His story telling is very entertaining, but I assure you if half of what he was saying is true, he was a shit employee who didn't really want to work for it. I am glad he seems to have found success in life though.

You will literally be on your feet all day unless you have a job or position that lets you sit, like watching the security cameras or working in an office. The only times you will sit is when you go on your lunch break or if you go on a bathroom break. The "no leaning" thing is true too, if higher ups catch you doing that they'll get on you about it.

As a retail manager, my guess is that you don't let people sit on stairs because it's a fire code violation; they could get trampled in an emergency. She probably should have just explained that to you and let your lie about your trainer pass. Maybe she was worried you would get the trainer in trouble, eventually? Idk, devil's advocate.

Well it started out as free, then they implemented employee discounts for employee meals. Though we also got free food from returned or cancelled orders.
