Hey Michael. Sorry this is off topic of this thread but where do you get those vinyl/plexiglass risers to make figures seen in the back rows of the shelves? All I can find is jewelry ones that are too wide. Got a link? Big fan keep up the good work! Nerdmaste!
I will order them my friend. I really need them for my MOTU figures. Keep up the great work. Blessings!!
Thanks D.C.! Good luck!
Man, better than the rubber bands that were put into the legs of the action figures originally. 👌👍
Thanks Ive been looking how to replace my rubber band in my hordak
Great video. I've done this many times and I can tell you it's a whole lot easier if you remove the armor and arms before making the repair. It allows you to get a really firm hold on the figure's torso without risk of damaging the accessories in the process. I'm actually impressed that you didn't ruin the cape so nice work.
Yeahhhhhhh !!! he lives again! !!!!
And the battle for the Universe, never finish!
Total like from Brazil!
I'm from Argentina and I'm very proud about this.
Now we have the power!!!!
These are awesome. It's nice to know there's a way to repair these figures without damaging them. Definitely going to order these.
YOU’RE surprised with how much you enjoyed repairing it? I’M surprised with how much I enjoyed watching you repair it 😂
Thank you! This is so much better than the screw-hook method!
Its great to see a video of the process being done as its being done :) I have no broken bands yet, but I do have a few that are a little loosey goosey. I suspect those bands don't have long. So, I will be buying some of these from Amos Del Retro as well soon just to hang on to for that moment I will need them and then refer to this video tutorial. I really appreciate it as I am sure other collectors do. Thank you Michael!
Thanks!
What a therapeutic video to watch which helps me be at ease. Now if I were to be doing myself I may felt a little frustrated. It is as if you are a bonsai tree teacher.
Thanks! :D
amazing Mr. Mercy....what trips me out is how they were originally made....way easier than the joes........love this...thank you
you definitely did the best job ive seen on here....everyone else did it slightly different and you gave me hope to fix mine...
Thank you some much Michael and this video is why I call u the most powerful youtuber in the universe!
This is fantastic. I purchased these connectors months back after watching this video. I finally got around to fixing Beastman and Hordak today. I used the hair dryer technique and followed your process. It was painless and smooth thanks to you and these bands. Figures now look tip top and are ready for display. Can't thank you enough. Great informative content as always. Nerdmaste bro.
Glad to hear it! Nerdmasté! 🙏
Well....my mind is blown...i was really worried about this eventually happening to my he man toys but now i can rest easy knowing there is replacement part out there. Thanks so much for sharing this video!
Yes! It's like a new O-ring for GI Joes. Nice to be able to properly restore these vintage figures now without having to damage them. :D
Fantastic. I can finally fix my He Man action figures and play with them with my kids. Yay
Great video. Great to know I can repair my old toys
I love, love, love this. Any sort of retrofitting, seamless modification, or otherwise repair is fascinating to me. I especially love that the fix is better than the original design.
Thanks! Yeah there's something therapeutic about it. I need to make a Joe o-ring repair video too. :D
Wish I could say my experience was smooth as yours, but I use to have a really hard time to make the rubber connector go through the waist, and ended up ruining two rubbers. :( Still, I could fix my Skeletor and Rio Blast. Maybe I can get more luck with the remaining rubbers and figures when I try it once again next time.
I had the problem and I broke 3 out of 10
If they would've had these when I was growing up I wouldn't have lost my figures when the legs broke. These will also work on those old Remco Conan and Warlord figures released around the same time. Great instructional vintage toy repair video!
Thanks Ronnie!
Yet another awesome video and I loved it! I'll be buying me some here in a little bit. Thank u so much Michael. U truly are the most powerful youtuber in the universe!
Great video u made me smile in a rough time for me and my family
Thanks, glad I could help. Nerdmasté! 🙏
Fortunately I don't need these, my vintage MOTU figures still have good legs. However, I purchased those Visionary stands you reviewed in a recent video. It's great that you make collectors aware of these things. Great video, as always. I expect nothing less from you.
Thanks Mathew! :D
These bands are great I've done most of my collection once you've done a few it becomes easier .
My trick was to place the legs and bands in hot water to soften dry well before fixing tho .
Great video thank you .
Love the hordak cartoon bits
Love the hordak cartoon snipits
i dont have any broken legs, but A LOT of twisted ones. this sounds like it'll fix that problem too. As long as i do it correctly
I think i need a blunter instrument for pushing the joints into the legs. Used same tools you did but my first attempt almost tore the joint. Probably gonna need to repair it again later. Hopefully second attempt goes better. But even torn, King Randor’s legs are in better shape now than some other figures.
This helps so much!
When my Hordak came in the mail and I placed him on my self... hi's legs came off. The person I bought him from replaced the bands in hi's legs. But I had to sent him back to the seller. Never want to go through that agein.😒
Also I love your channel. 🖤
Awesome! I can finally fix my Master of the Universe Mantenna.
Great review. I wish I had these before I tossed my vintage collection years ago.
Thanks!
The crying Jordan picture really works for this comment...
Way cool love to see a good repair option
Nice, I was thinking about these things. I think you just made up my mind !
That's so awesome! Thanks for the video sir. I came across those bands on EBay the other day but, I was a little ifey about them. Looks like I may just order some now. Thanks again for the video.😁✌
Thanks James! 🙏
I heard the second release of these were better I'm going to have to get some and try them out
Very cool I was always terrified off using the screw hook way of fixing the leg.
You know, I tried to watch another toy video and all I could handle was about 15 seconds. It was like a conference call on a toy, boring. Your videos have so much character, Mr. Mercy! You're my new favorite channel and top 2nd host of a UA-cam channel. My mom was over when I was watching and she said you have such a relaxing voice. I said you have more of a radio/TV voice. But guess what!? You're mother approved! ;) These would of been handy as a kid, but as you mentioned, I'd probably just get frustrated and make a mess of things....then my mom, like always, would calm me down and try to help. I'm sure you've heard this before, but for people who don't have the time, the space, THE MONEY to relive their childhood toys, we get to take that trip down nostalgia lane with you. I couldn't think of anyone better because your videos ooze (sorry, just finished watching your Ghostbuster Firehouse video last night) the same love that we all have for these vintage toys and the wonderful memories that come with them. We're a unique generation, one day we'll be gone, and that's why it's also so important to archive our memories. Thank you for another great video!
Thanks Jesse! I greatly enjoyed reading that. I feel like printing that out and putting it on one of my shelves as a keepsake. :D Great to hear your mom likes the channel too, that makes 2 now, yours and my own! I don't have the income I once did but I'm glad I used it at the time to build this collection instead of on booze, drugs or other wastes of money so that I can now enjoy them in the leaner years as well as share them with others who wouldn't be able to afford them. Thanks for the encouraging words good brother, Nerdmasté! 🙏
I did it!! Thank you.
I got a kick out of this when you finally got the last leg done...
Agh! Where was this idea in 1982?!!
I think Mattel put elastics in the legs because they wanted the toys to break and be replaced by buying the same character again.
Absolutely phenomenal reference video Michael! Thank you.
Can you share what tools you used besides needle noose pliers?
I love this video, great job and u can bank on me getting a bag of these. Awesome!
thank you i have a spikor i completed and the elastic snapped broke my soul.
Thanks for giving this some exposure, the crude method of using screw eyes and o-rings is terrible.
thank you for telling me about this because my skeletor's right leg is looking a little weak
haha you don't want to have the figures do the jcvd splits....love ya bro....merry christmas
I learned how to repair those heman fgures it's fun
i need to get around to doing these repairs on mine. pain in the butt to get the old joints out. also the link takes me to the site but im not sure what to search for when i get there
Another tool is use and swear by is a nice pair of medical locking forceps. It gives you a third hand and you can pretend you are clamping off a leg artery.
Thank you!!!!! Your one of a kind!!!!!
Thank you Mr. Williams, likewise! :D
Would be nice, if there was also something like that for the vintage Crash Bandicoot and Darkwing Duck figures.
Best way to fix them
It's to bad, the MOTU figures didn't have a screw on the hip/waist section like on the GIJoes. Then you could fix the legs, place them in the waist section and clamshell them back together with a screw. I have 2 he-man figures that always fall down, these seems like a very good fix. I currently fixed some of my old Joes...but have 6 left that worry me. The screws are super tight and I'm worried about stripping the heads that I stopped and put them on hold. Any tips on those?
Try the next size up of screwdriver from whatever you're currently using first to see if you can get a good grip on the screw to turn it. I've discovered that not all Joes were actually put together with the same size screws. Push into the screw as you try to turn it, I have original '82 Joes that can take the pressure without damaging the torso (cracking or worse does not happen). Lastly if none of that works you can try to use a Dremel or other similar tool to literally grind the head of the screw into oblivion and just take the torso apart. Remember that Zartan and his siblings were glued together - the screw in the back does nothing for them.
Great video!
I would love to see someone do a repair video for moss man. Can you heat him up without ruining the flock?
Clear glue gun work it in… and you can always peel away the glue …of course best way is to replace but an easy reversible fix glue gun clear .
Hi, thank you for making these MOTU videos; however, I couldn't find one where you talk about your motu 80's collection. More specifically, the vehicles you have in this video as a background. For example, that red one where Mekaneck is sitting. What is the name of it?
Where can I buy those? I have vintage he man figures. And how do you keep you're vintage figures so clean? You're vintage figures look brand new
Search "Masters of the Universe" and "connectors" on Ebay.
Is it the same size for teela evil lyn and sorceress also as the rest?
Off I go to 1985, to repair all my toys I had, and make 5 year old me happy again.
nice, by the way amosdelretro means "masters of the vintage" in spanish 😎
How do you fabricate broken thumbs and crotches of G.I. Joe action figures?
When I do a replacement I take off armor arms etc
I remember mines had thin elastic ropes wich could stuck in each others , then the legs twisted o man
hair dryer is a great idea cause it won't chip the paint....
Would this work for the DC primal age figures?
The funko ones are made of plastic. At least the Zorn and Freddy ones are. I haven't moved the legs to much on king shark.
Donde puedo comprar los conectores
I repair 5-8 a week do under 5 minutes
I did not get that nice of packaging...luckily, I don't really care, but....it's B&W now.
WHY is it always hordak I see with broken legs the most?
It's because Hordak's legs were made too thick to fit properly into the existing MOTU crotch piece. If you compare him to the 1982 figures, his upper thigh is slightly bulkier than the old legs that were used on He-Man/Skeletor/Beast Man etc. So the rubber connector gets stretched too much.
