Absolutely. Even was a good person which is more important. He and Chester Bennington were exposing child trafficking. Most definitely rest in peace to both of those guys. Just in the last few short years we've lost so many artists of all genres. This is a lump in the throat track
Chris told Prince that he wanted to do a cover of this song. Prince said that he didn't think Chris had the right voice for the song. LMFAO. Best version ever
@@joeshubin4655 Really. Never heard that before, anything is possible but doesn't sound likely. Chris actually said the first time he performed it was right around Prince's death. "Prince's music is the soundtrack to the soulful and beautiful universe he created, and we have all been privileged to be part of that amazing world. I performed his song 'Nothing Compares 2 U' for the first time a couple months ago. It has a timeless relevance for me and practically everyone I know. Sadly, now his own lyrics in this song could not be more relevant than at this moment, and I sing them now in reverence as I pay tribute to this unequaled artist who has given all of our lives so much inspiration and made the world so much more interesting. We will miss you Prince!!!"
@@frankmarasco6233 Well Frank I think you maybe right. I know I read it somewhere although it was probably someone's comment on UA-cam. But in looking for an article on Google to back me up (nobody wants to be wrong). Anyway I found an interview and it stated that Chris knew that Prince didn't like people recording his music. But he went and did it anyway and he did it 6 months before Prince died.
If you want to see a video of Chris Cornell singing with Eddie Vedder, the singer of Pearl Jam, check out Hunger Strike by Temple Of The Dog. Chris is one of the greatest singers of our time.
As much as I love the Temple of the Dog version with both Cornell and Vedder, Cornell has a studio version (him and a band similar to this) where it’s just him and his scream is insane.
I’m 42 and these artists voices and music is the soundtrack to my life, thank you for your beautiful reactions, I love watching you fall in love with this music!
R.I.P. Chris. One of the most talented people ever. Seems all of us that grew up in the 80s 90s. Just have heart, real people. People sang from the heart.
Most people here are just telling her to listen to the next song, instead of just admiring this one. Brilliant performance, I can hear the sadness on his voice. Depresión is a real thing
Everyone rightfully getting on about Chris' voice, but how about that excellent acoustic guitar solo adding to the feels? Cello really sets a mood here and was a great choice to round out the song.
Oh we LOST her to Cornell as well now! LOL. Welcome to the 90's Seattle guys! RIP Chris, you ARE sorely missed, a broken heart thinking of the years and years of listening to Chris Cornell with Soundgarden, Audioslave and solo. :(
Thank You for such an honest real reaction. Yea, the world lost a true good guy and seriously talented soul when Chris Passed away. It seems the Greatest Artists carry around the most pain.... RIP Chris. Have a Wonderful Day filled with Peace, Love, Music, Friends and Family!!!!! Be Well!!!!
I feel that Chris and other artists like him have a much higher purpose....Their Souls are only on loan to us.... It's too bad not enough people get/learn the lessons that their lives and songs are sending us! Just my thoughts....Peace :)
He has my most favorite voice of all time. His voice is just cerebral. This song and Wild Horses seem to capture his truly unique voice. His death was an incredible loss that I don't think I'll ever quite get over and I didn't even the know the guy.... crazy to think about.
RIP Chris Cornell. Every time I see this video its like a punch in the gut. I always appreciated his vocals and song writing but for some reason this performance really highlights just how good he was. So beautiful.
Losing Prince and Chris was a huge blow to the music world. Both, Gods in their own right, both, genius, both, have no equal. How lucky we are to be able to witness their absolute domination at the touch of a button. Even so...I wish they were still here.
2 of his best songs IMHO are Outshined when he was in Soundgarden band and also Like A Stone when he was in Audioslave......Cochise is also a great song. i have loved this guy since the first time i heard him sing.......so sad he left us way too soon... :'(
I think pretty much everyone in the western world knew who Prince was, but I still think he might be history's most underrated musician. Amazing song meets amazing voice...
No one sings like him anymore. From the live album called song songbook, I am a highway or call me a dog!! Just amazing !! You haven't heard the next level Cornell
Not many vocalists can make you Feel their emotion while they perform. Now there's something in my eye, I swear 'why I'm shedding tears right now. That's what everyone says now when they hear Chris' Angelic singing voice anymore. Glad I was blessed to see, hear & feel his amazing gift to us all. Rest in Power Chris, and thank you for so much incredible material to listen to & enjoy.
Shiloh, this is the cover version of a song that was a huge hit in the early 1990s, written by Prince (RIP) and performed by Sinead O´Connor. Now that you are familiar with Chris Cornell (RIP), please react to his work with Soundgarden and Audioslave.
The first released versiion of this was by The Family in 1985. Sinead covered them. Prince did record a version in 1984 but that version wasn't released until 2018.
My favorite voice, I had the pleasure of seeing him perform live and in small acoustic shows 5 or 6 times, blown away each time R.I.P mr Cornell and thank you for sharing. Lovely reaction :)
He is one of the reasons the 90s was such a special time. Imagine Chris Cornel , Eddie Vedder and Kurt Cobain all creating music at the same time. I appreciate your heartfelt reactions.

So glad to see and hear someone so young just discovering how talented the late, great Chris Cornell was. Check out some of his stuff with Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. I first heard Soundgarden way back in 1990 when I was just 17 and became an instant fan of the band. Chris had one of the most amazing voices I've ever heard (and I've been fortunate enough to see live). Your reaction was so touching. You really feel music the way it's meant to be. Brought a tear to the eye of this late 40's guy. Lots of respect to young lady. Enjoy your journey in discovering more songs by Chris if you choose to do so :)

I remember the exact moments I heard of their passing. I didn’t even watch the video. I only watched your face. It is impossible to watch and hear this without getting emotional. Another great one from this performance is his song Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart. Another great one to really hear his voice is the Chris Cornell Studio Jam Session of “Hunger Strike” or “Seasons”
