Some amendments to the video / things I've learned from the comments below: On point 7 - Wyatt Weir in the comments has pointed out that the two mausoleums without bells in upper Liurnia "will only duplicate the legendary remembrances (not the shard bearers)". On point 15 - Nuck Chorris in the comments has pointed out that "the whetblades don’t actually give affinity scaling to all ashes. A magic ash cannot be given a sacred scaling, or a fire ash a magic scaling. Magic ashes get cold and magic, fire gets flame art and just flame, lightning/sacred ashes get lightning or sacred scaling. The iron whetblade lets you use any physical scaling for ashes." My bad for missing this, I should have done more research. Apologies
Its probably common knowledge but Fia can give you a greater blessing that seems to last longer, iv only gotten one of those at the end of her questline.
@@darkolli That blessing also doesn't give the max hp penalty compared to her regular blessing. However, you can only get one per playthrough since it's obtained at the end of Fia's questline and she can no longer be interacted with afterwards.
Also yes - I'm working on an Elden Ring lore video. Though first I have to compile most of the game's lore, which is a monumental task! It's important that I get everything right the first time, so thank you for your patience! Also the lore in this game is insane goddamn just you wait
Or a message over every single item, ladder, lever, etc making you miss items when running when running from enemies or dashing through because it will open the message instead of interact with X. played offline for a long time because of that. It’s so annoying. people have completely shit on the message system
If you do use the seeker group will you be able to see summon or be summoned from people not in the group? I’d hate to cut myself off from the majority of the player base.
@@QueenGrezelda yeah the groups don't affect multi-player, as long as you leave the multi-player pass open. And the group messages look slightly different, they have a circle around them
Found a cool little secret you may know of already. In the cosmetics section, you can go into the face tattoo portion, and early game it is rather barren with only a few options. But the more bosses you best, the more tattoo options you have. One is similar to Ofnir's eyes on his armor, another is of Lannseax, one of the Erdtree Blessing. I think it is rather cool to find.
Would love an ability to ask NPC's to spar with you. I'd love to duel Blaidd or Alexander or Kale, but in a friendly 1 on 1 where no one gets killed. Would have been awesome in previous games too! I'm sure Solaire would have enjoyed a few bouts between friends!
Should be noted using a Rune arc then changing Great Runes will lose the Rune arc effect and you'll have to use another one, so be sure which Great Rune you want before using a Rune Arc
About the mausoleums! Some of them don't have bells and those will only duplicate the legendary remembrances (not the shard bearers). The ones with bells can duplicate both the shardbearer and the legendary ones so remember to save the two on the upper section of Liurnia for the non-shardbearers.
@@VaatiVidya I just found this out yesterday when I did all my remembrances but I went to a mausoleum that did all of the remembrances, and then after I went to another mausoleum that didn't do them all I was like oh no. Now I have to get all the first 5 main bosses weapons
@@0hhSly they're remembrances from certain bosses that aren't shardbearers like the one at the end of siofra river (I'm afraid mentioning more would mean spoilers). You can trade them for a weapon and some such like a shardbearer's remembrance but they don't have an associated great rune so you can't get them at a bell mausoleum.
@@GSixV checking every corner in the game and doing all questlines takes about 130h. at the end u'll have about 200 lvl. ive lost souls many times so i ended up being 184. i did NOT farm anything. also worth noting that i didnt waste much time on bosses. the longest one was Malenia that took me between 60-80min. regarding the easy ones, margit was dead in about 10min. the length of ur playthrough mostly depends on how fast u kill bosses
Addendum: the blessing you get from hugging Fia is deceptive - it doesn’t just raise your poise, but also gives you +30% damage resistance for ALL DAMAGE TYPES - which is pretty insane. I don’t know why it doesn’t mention it in the description, but it’s well worth the -5% HP debuff!
Yeah, it's rather strong, but it's so brief and time-consuming to reacquire. Do you know if you can stock up on them, or is there a limit to one at a time?
@@cardmossdn8058 And that's the exact reason why it goes from "oh, I could see myself using this" to "straight into the trash, never touch the item" for so many players. When I saw that I didn't get a second one, I just never touched the blessing ever again and only used it like 100 hours later when someone told me about the debuff you get.
One tip is for a questline that doesn't affect the end game in any way, but one that definitely made me feel like the villain of the playthrough for doing something that I thought was absolutely for the best. When you meet Boc the friendly tailor/seamster in Leyndell, he will mention that he would like to be reborn. You then get the option to give him a larval tear to use with Renalla, only problem being that once he has used it he will then turn in to a naked human in her boss room and die after you try speaking to him. If you want to keep him alive (which again doesn't affect the endgame and is more just because he is a happy guy) then when he asks you if he should get reborn, you can use one of the Prattling Pate items called "you're beautiful" and he will be alive for the rest of the playthrough. You're welcome 👍
it's not, i only play offline and i get it all the time.... it's prob a coincidence that it lined up for him & it's probably not different for offline players nothing else works diff for online and offline, he probably just assumed it worked that way from it coincidentally happening when someone he was talking to in the group did something. i can assure it you procs randomly doing nothing, sometime's i'll afk while i'm scraping my bowl or cleaning or whatever just standing there for 2-3 hours LITERALLY DOING NOTHING OFFLINE and it just pops up, goes away, pops up, goes away & it's the same buff has the gold claw icon & increases the amount of runes i get
@@zeening that doesn't prove anything. There are previous differences in some games based on offline/online play Its nothing new, and nothing to be in disbelief about.

Another thing to note, when an enemy explodes denoting they have loot, the size of the white flame determines how good the loot is. Small white flame is bolts or crafting goods. Large flame is gear or weapons, for example.

In DS1, I accidentally pressed R1 instead of A on the Pardoner. I'm convinced this kind of mistake is why it's done at statues instead of NPCS in DS3 & Elden Ring.
This happened to me with Solaire at the very end of his quest line. I set down my controller and must have accidentally hit R2, because I heard the slice sound effect and looked up to see Solaire dying in front of me. The shame
You're half correct, after DS1, they gave NPCs a 3 strikes rule. I think it progressed something like DS1 it's if you do ___ % damage they're angry, DS2 and onward you need to hit them 3 times, Sekiro you can't even attack an NPC, but since DS3 forgiveness zones became statues. The only game without a setup for that was Bloodborne, where you just don't want to attack people much. DS2 they let you revive their ghosts for their continued business to that point of their death. DS3 they let you collect their ashes to be converted into more wares. Elden Ring follows the same principle of DS3.
Insane quality of life improvement comes after putting all your 3 flasks on the quick use slots if you use more than one flask in a fight not having to switch between these mid fight is insane.
i like to have my quick use slots as : horse ring, ash summon, torrent food, and the lantern. then i just keep my flasks alone in my equipped items as much as i can.
@@joncatlin1020 yeah but you still gonna have to switch mid combat. Unless you only use one of those. In the end it's only preference. I just realised for me it was a better option since I don't have to check what flask I'm on.
@@joncatlin1020 - I have the lantern and telescope in the pouch slots that don't have mappings. Still quick enough, considering I'd never use them in combat.
You can actually duplicate Remembrances from Bosses you have already claimed all Items from, I got both items from one, duplicated again and went to ng+ afterwards. However there is 2 types of Mausoleums, those with Bells and those without. You can only duplicate the Remembrances of big bosses like shardbearers on those with Bells, so thats important to know before using a Mausoleum up for one.

Magic ashes get cold and magic, fire gets flame art and just flame, lightning/sacred ashes get lightning or sacred scaling. The iron whetblade lets you use any physical scaling for ashes.
Yeah, I found this out the hard way. Had to switch from a Poisonous Mist Occult Scythe to a Flame Scythe just so I could use the Black Fire Tornado Spin ash. I was very sad to lose my scaling but in the end it didn't matter much. Just felt weird to lose out on particular scaling unlike any other Souls game simply because I didn't use one of the three required ash types (Blood, Poison or Occult).
@@TrxPsyche I wanted to use the Hoarfrost stomp Ashe with a grave scythe and have it do holy damage for my faith character…I was annoyed when I went back to read the full whetblade description

You can also “Mark Site of Grace” after pressing the “Sites of Grace” button on the map. This allows you to toggle a list of marked Graces. If you then only have one Grace marked, you can very quickly teleport to said Grace by quickly hitting (on PlayStation) *triangle* *triangle* *X* and *X* on the map screen.
I was wondering about that! I had felled one of the mausoleums in Liurnia and was confused as to why I couldn’t duplicate anything. I did notice it didn’t have a bell, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. Thanks!
@@WhiteKnuckleRide512 Shardbearers aren't the only bosses that drop rememberances. Its rare, but some other bosses do as well. I think I encountered 2 of those so far, and I'm in what I understand to be the second to last area in the game.

That can't be, Gostoc accidently got killed when I went up the ladder to escape the knight and didn't know Gostoc was up there. (previously he wasn't there, but must have gone back after I had died) was so annoyed!
Torrent has to die in the bloodstain, but a bloodstain can be watched multiple times, and this type is most common near great drops. Free healing. Hope it isn't patched, as any mechanic that has players linger in places of significant death is oddly thematic with the game, like the miracle buffing system they tried to implement in DS1

God I cannot wait for the lore videos. Vaati, you help me to enjoy these games so much more on my multiple playthroughs with your story breakdowns and details I missed in the beginning. It helps really take in the true magnificence of these games. Thank you and take your time on the lore videos because they are worth the wait!
Larval tear, for respecing is dropped by giant cannonballs that spawns to crush you. Try to make it hit some wall and kill it. I got like 15 of them in my 1st playthrough.
It was a bug that got patched. They only drop one now. You can only have a max of 18 in NG. I learned that the hard way when I couldn't decide on a build and screwed my entire savefile over. (Think level 120 with 20 vigor levels of screwed)
It should be noted that with boc’s questline the golden needle is specifically for him, you get the golden tailoring kit which gives you the ability to modify godly attire not the golden needle
The Baldachin's blessing is actually a really useful item!! It doesn't only give poise, it also gives 35% physical damage reduction according to the wiki. It's supremely useful.
If you loved bloodbornes healing mechanic for attacking enemies shortly after they attack you you will love melanias great rune btw, at that point equip blood hound step + melanias rune and you have yourself a true bloodborne build
@OneFortyFour That's extremely lame. Almost feels like an oversight by the design team, or in the case of Miyazaki, completely intentional because Miyazaki.
Note: Of the seven Walking Mausoleums, only 5 are capable of duplicating Remembrances received by killing shardbearers. They are identifiable by the bells on the underside of the Mausoleum. The two that can’t are both located in northern Liurnia, reasonably close to each other.
Luckily you can fight a special enemy at night in the church of vows that drops a bell bearing which lets you purchase all the turtle meat you want, guilt free!
But the stamina regen items tho! You could get the bell bearing to buy them from the twin maiden vendor... ORRRRR you could go to the spot near a merchant in northeast limgrave by the bridge, where there's a bonfire near THREE turtles, so you can massacre them to your heart's content and get ALLL the turtle necks :D
Also: The song the merchants play on their instrument is identical to the song that one of the corpses play in the hidden catacombs beneath the Forsaken Depths in Leyendell. It seems to be the same instrument as well. I don't know what that means lore-wise, but I thought it might be significant.
Also, within one of the shacks, you get the merchants armor set. Have to have one of the enemies there frenzy the shacks to access the items, but some deep frenzy lore in the game.
@@Stu1391 that has a lot of implications for them perhaps they refused to embrace the flame themselves and left but are still attacked one for being merchants by the ball bearing hunter and by those who are against the flame
They use Frenzy attacks aswell, probably some connecion to the 3 fingers. Might explain why they are almost all isolated or shunned. All i know is every time i saw one i felt so heartbroken i had to buy smth
I have to say, the lore of these merchants is quite an interesting one as well, they use Frenzied Flame incantations and when you reach that one secret location in the sewers, you find someone familiar playing an instrument like every other merchant does.
This is due to the cut Kale questline which was found in the Network Test. Kale had you searching for his people in order to get information on the "Grand Caravan". The fate of the Grand Caravan is ultimately revealed in that secret location.
In that secret sewer location, you can actually find some very unique lore by letting the enemies use their strong attacks on some of the environment objects… a certain outfit that has a description that ties that all together
Another convenient 'secret' for our fellow Seekers: There's an option in System>Sound & Display>Device for on-screen prompts. It allows you to choose between controller and Keyboard+mouse layout for the UI. It makes the life of all those without controllers a lot easier.
@@panzfaust9812 I'm a strictly PC player, coming from several RTS and competitive FPS games. And I've played through all the Assassin's Creed games on PC (with M&K). I understand controller is probably easier, but I'd love to be able to play all games on M&K, since I'm most used to that. 60 hours into Elden Ring (my very first Souls game ever) and I'm loving it. Ever since I discovered you could change all the prompts from Controller to M&K 2 hours into my gameplay lol.
Best UI I've seen in a game really, up there with PUBG. Very minimal and no clutter. People are actually asking for a quest log and mini maps. These people either have mental health issues or have been brainwashed by poor game design into thinking they need that garbage.
No more zooming out, then jamming down left for me. Funny thing is, I knew about that menu and just chose to willfully ignore it. So much time wasted lol
Good tip for farming runes, or just killing mobs in general. Look for mobs with glowing white eyes, they tend to drop 5x more runes than normal in my experience.
Best farming route I've found is in Moghwyn palace or however you spell it, one site of grace overlooks a cliff and there's a bird you can shoot across the gap with arrows, it'll run at you and fall off the ledge, and bam 11000 runes
Just make sure to check weight and stats when using the sewing needle to edit you armor, removing capes does actually change their stats, sometimes by a quite a large margin (removing the cape from the veteran's armor decreases poise from 37 to 29). It could make the difference between mid rolls and slow rolls, or being staggered and not being staggered!
The only piece of armour I've realised worth altering was the bloodhound's, 1 less weight for some very very minor stat changes! Also noticed how some gear that can be altered make it worse without offering any sort of benefit, other than elden bling..
Vaati. When it comes to duplicating remembrances, you can Duplicate one before NG+ and keep it to immediately use once you get a great rune in the playthrough. Meaning you can get a 2nd Regal Scepter Staff or whatever boss weapon is limited to 1 per playthrough. Bypassing the need to kill it a 2nd time overall
I love this guy's content, his elden ring videos are the best, and without spoiling 10 bosses per minute, he creates such enjoyable and informative videos.
Want to say that (minor spoilers) killing the living boulders in the later underground area (you'll know the place if you haven't been there yet) will always dop a larval tear on the first kill!
This can be farmed. Help others through this area and each ball drops another tear for you as well if they havent killed it prior. I went through here with 3 friends jad 15 or so tears.
Easiest way to kill these is Night's Mist. They get trapped in the doors or on corners. In fact Night's Mist has killed more things for me than any other spell 😂
With the amount of lore I'm discovering just by myself I can't wait for those Prepare to cry videos Vaati! Keep up the good work, your videos are amazing! Praise the Erdtree!
Minor observation- when item farming (i.e slaughtering rats for Rune Arcs), pop a Rune Arc with Godrick's Rune to increase your Arcane stat along with all the others. +5 Arcane gives a minor but noticeable discovery boost, and as soon as you get one Arc to drop its paid for itself.
Also the Great Rune buff, unlike silver chicken legs, won't expire when fast traveling, making it a small but *permanent* (as long as you don't die!) item finding buff
For those who don't know, the more summons you have for a boss fight, the more hp it gets and the more damage it deals. 2 summons will equal a one shot on some of the harder hitting bosses
To add to the fast travel tip; if you press R3 you can switch to the underground map, so you wont have to take the elevator everytime you want to switch upper/lover level, like i did 😄
You can also use an imbued key at the the 2nd highest portal at 4 belfries and warp back to the start of the game church where a maiden is located. You can also kill the start boss and get shield sword if you missed it before
You know the game is massive when even the King Vaati is missing/forgetting info and learning from the comments! 😆 If you see this Vaati we all appreciate you ❤️
Also! If anyone is playing a Faith Build and wondering, "Where the hell is my Lighting Spear!?" go kill the random Elite Godrick Knight wandering just outside the Lunaria artist shack. He'll drop a prayer book you can turn in to get a bunch of lightning incantations. Cuz you know... of course it drops off a random nameless soldier with no indication of anything.
First of its not just a random enemy. It's literally the only enemy walking around in that area so its kinda obvious its there for a reason. Second Its a DRAGON CULT KNIGHT, not a Godrick knight hence why its a whole different color and drops the prayer book. Lol
@@huh2597 you can do ridiculous numbers of damage with that incantation and it comes out so fast, one of my favorites. If you have the golden order seal that boosts all fundamentalist incantations plus the lightning scorpion charm you will do some crazy numbers.
Great video! One small detail I’ve noticed that I haven’t seen anyone mentioning: when you pick up materials/ingredients you’ll see a quick summary of whatever you picked up on the right side of the screen. The bars appearing for items that respawn will be black, whereas those for non respawnable items will be blue (at least that’s what I’ve seen so far) It doesn’t have a huge impact but I think it’s good to be aware of it
Thank you for posting all these details and guides to help a novice to FromSoft games get his character to a stage where he at least has a chance of defeating Godrick. Much appreciated! Great storytelling as always.
Easy way for everyone w/o waiting for upgrade materials for damage - there are bleed weapons, equip a semi fast bleed weapon, learn boss patterns, marvel at the bleed damage. Godrick CAN bleed.
Thank you everyone for all the kind and supportive comments. I will be taking on Godrick this weekend and will keep all your tips in mind. Will let you guys know once I've defeated him.
There is so much to learn in this game. I'm a perfectionist too so can't help but want to know it all... it hurts, my brain... it hurts. Liar ahead but hole
Really appreciate the 'Seekers' group! Been guiding and guided by the knowledge of other Seekers since day 1 and the near permanent Rune boost from the community constantly showing those Shard Bearers who the real boss is, is a great bonus too!
The glintstone whetblade also adds cold scaling. It still has Int scaling and does Magic damage, but it does less damage in exchange for a hefty frost build up
and gotta say frost is sooo powerful now :D adulas moonblade feels like the most powerful spell to me. People are losing their minds over comet azure, which takes long build up and misses a lot of times, while the moonblade cuts a wide area in front of you and threeshots some bosses with enough int.
@@pyrokine9538 I have that too and use it when I don't feel like casting, but Adulas does significantly more damage when you hit with blade + shockwave at least in my Setup (80 int + lusats staff), has a faster wind up, and hits a bigger area
Man, it sounds like I'm really missing out by going dex/fth instead of dex/int. Luckily, I beat Rennala so maybe I'll just respec soon. But it'll take some work to figure out which sorceries I need to use and then to go get them
Fia's blessing doesn't just give you poise. Get one from her and activate it, then look at all of your physical defense stats. They skyrocket upwards some in the 50s depending on the gear you have equipped. Check it out. You will only have about 5 or 10 seconds though. It doesn't last long.
The celestial dew can also be used to continue Ranni's quest if you tried to kill her with Seluvis's. I wouldn't be surprised if there are other NPC quests that can be done in this way.
Technically, Boc uses the needles, you use the regular and gold sewing kits (acquired at the same time). You don't lose the ability to mod your items yourself at a grace for 500 a pop.
Also altering lowers defense and equip load when it results in the removal a piece. I learned this when I wanted to take a cape off and started medium rolling again.
Just over hundred hours with char level 128 and havent came across Boc. The game has so much content. Even as a sorcerer who uses high damage to clear stuff faster; there is just so so much content...it never ends!
Just wanted to drop here that Bestial Sling is an awesome faith spell that posture breaks everything and I haven't heard anything about it in the community so I think its getting slept on.
Definitely seen a few players use it, looks cool and it can combo into a few spells (shortening their cast time by like ~20%) just like Catch Flame. It'll probably stay slept on until someone makes an "INSANE BROKEN COMBO, YOU WONT BELIEVE" video tho.
stone of gurranq is better in every way lol higher damage, spammable faster and does way more poise damage, only downside is it kinda sucks for hitting flying stuff and the range isn't incredible but i've honestly stopped using it because it's SO strong it takes ALL the challenge out of killing stuff lol
the weather boost/nerfs confused me because, i had no idea where an extra 20% fire res came from, nor did i for the -20 lighting res. For those wondering this was due to in game rain.
I did know about the menu for Sites of Grace, but the shortcut was new. But, doing this, Vaati, if you don't know, I found there's a way to mark Sites of Grace into a second menu (press TRIANGLE twice), so you can keep a short list of Sites with NPCs and Quests you're working on. Love that you started the Secret Seekers, too. It's been fun playing in a community from the get-go.
I think I made a discovery!!! You can do the "kick" move with rapiers and curved swords You know like the fancy back step with an attack you'd do with those specific weapon classes? If you charge up a heavy attack, then back step before it comes out, you'll do the move. It's so much easier to do in this game
You can also press R3/right thumb stick on the grace list to save your favorite graces, in which you can access by pressing triangle/Y again on the grace list menu.
Feeling pretty called out about the Rune Arcs... I just beat the game last night and had 110 of them just lying around. So definitely don't be afraid to use them guys!
Me too. Ugh, I am so ashamed. I could have sworn i read the description multiple times, and i don't remember it saying that it increases max hp, like embers. I feel silly. Lol.
@@LogicAndCompassion It's not like embers. The bonus you get depends on the great rune you have equipped. Like Godricks's will give 5 lvs to all atributes. Radahn will give you more health. Rykard has lifesteal. Mellania's is essentially the Bloodborn mechanic for an agressive playstyle getting lost health back by attacking.
That's not the "average" experience, though. I barely used rune arcs for most of the game, until the last few hours and I had like 30-40 stocked up. Unless you hardcore-blast pvp or coop or farm rats for 20 hours, you'll not have 100+ arcs lying around.
I would love a step by step NPC quest play through guide from you specifically. There’s so many, they are easy to miss, and easy to do out of order. Hearing you go into detail about each character and the lore and story behind them would be very enjoyable.
11:40 I'd like to add that you can meet Boc even earlier than what you showcased here after progressing his quest for the free armor alterations to become available. He is guaranteed to appear on the Lake-Facing Cliffs grace at nighttime (the very first grace you touch as soon as you enter the Liurnia region). After talking to him and accepting him into your service, he will appear there at any time of day, until you reach the East Raya Lucaria Gate grace like you mentioned. Interestingly you seem to already have that location cited as "Fourth" in your video which is correct, as the one I mentioned just now is the 3rd, you probably just forgot to add it in the script! 😁
Some tips : - Loadout management : if you press the button to switch item/spell/weapon long enough, you will switch back to the first equipped item/spell/weapon of that slot (from left to right) - The talismans that change your appearance, making you appear as a host or a summoned phantom do apply to the Mimic Summon, allowing it to be golden or "normal" (without its ghostly white color) - Each spell and incantation school has its own symbol, which is visible on its icon (on the sheet of paper behind the visual representation of the spell). The same symbol also appears when you cast the spell. This allows you to know without a doubt which spell is strengthened by each specific catalyst. - Blood and Poison status build up aren't inherently strengthened by the Arcane attribute. However, if the weapon applying it has an Arcane scaling, then the status buildup is affected by your Arcane Attribute. This is true for weapon, but also for spell and incantations, if they are cast with a catalyst that has an Arcane scaling (Albinauric staff for sorceries and Dragon Cummunion sacred seal). This also means that weapons with innate blood or poison effect are better of infused with Occult Ashes of War, since it will give a better Arcane scaling to the weapon than from a blood/poison ashe of war. - There are a lot of catalysts designed to be used by hybrid builds or that are even best suited for builds that don't use the main casting attributes : Dragon Communion seal scale with Arcane the most and, as such, doesn't require too much investment into Faith to cast powerful incantations. Clawmark Seal has a really good scaling with Strength and apply it to the incantations, allowing for a build that uses Strength as a primary attribute for casting. Golden Order seal allows to use intelligence as a the main casting attribute without having to heavily invest in faith Albinauric Staff scale primarily with Arcane, making it the primary casting stat... and making the bleed effect of the thorn sorceries even better. - Catalysts that boost damage from schools of sorceries/incantations do so when held, not when used to cast... This means that you can hold the boosting catalyst in one hand AND cast with another catalyst (that scales better with your build) with your other hand.
There’s no corresponding mausoleum. Any one with a bell can duplicate any remembrance, whether or not you’ve used the remembrance doesn’t matter. You can only use each mausoleum once though.
@@leberntaco1795 Alex is correct, I couldn't duplicate my Godrick remembrance in the walking mausoleums in Liurnia, so there is some kind of correspondence
11:42 NOTE! For his 3rd encounter (or 4th, I guess if you count going back to him in the cave after getting the needle) you can find Boc at the first Grace you get to upon reaching Liurnia, whether you went through the castle or went through around it this should be the first Grace you stumble upon. He wont be there if you teleport there, he'll suddenly be there upon resting at it.
As far as I can tell, none of the Merchants hold ill will toward you for killing their brethren despite Kale explicitly telling you they will do just that when you first meet him. That being the case, celestial dew is useless for them. However, one particular questline it is extremely useful for is Ranni's. If you try to make her into a puppet with Seluvis's potion, you will no longer be able to progress her quest. If you use celestial dew afterwards, all will be forgiven and you can speak to her as if nothing ever happened.
Heya! I wanted to point out that there's at least one other whetblade down in Nokron that adds occult (scales with arcane) and poison (also arcane). Which could be potential for a super interesting Arcane build
yeah the Black Whetblade, let's you put bleeding occult and poison, also for the record i've got 99 arcane and the weapons that scale off arcane tend to give X +587, and the bleed damage on weapons w the bleed affix from the Black Whetblade is 105-147 when the weapons are +25 depending on the weapon's speed.
also the dragon communion seal is amazing for arcane builds that use incantations, has the highest damage scaling on any staff or seal i've seen so far at like 397 with 99 arcane and like 83 faith & then you can put another seal in your offhand if you wanna get a +damage type like the beastial incantations

A little note on the last tip: the whetblades don't allow every single affinity on every single weapon art. There's some combos that don't work, though I don't remember any off the top of my head. I think I was unable to make bloody slash scale from faith, despite having the correct whetblade, but I don't remember for sure
One note about Walking Mauseleums. The ones without bells can only duplicate underground bosses. So don't duplicate those ones at the Mauseleums with bells like I did because then that's a waste of a normal Remembrance dupe.
To clarify, the two mausoleums without bells don't only duplicate rememberances for "underground" bosses. They actually will duplicate for the all the non-shardbearer bosses remembrances.
For the rune arc, I noticed that changing the great rune, cancels the rune arc effect you, need to use another rune arc, with the new activated great rune. Nice tip, and very nice video.
Another note about the walking mausoleums- The ones without bells cannot duplicate every soul. Only the ones with bells can duplicate the Lord/Big boss souls.

Great video. Quick note, I gave Boc the gold sewing needle yet I still have it in my inventory so it seems that giving him the needle will not prevent you from doing any clothing alterations yourself. One last thing to remember is that when you alter clothing you actually alter the stats of the armor in the process. Most alterations involve removing or adding a cloak or other bits of cloth to the armor piece in question so when you remove the cloak you actually remove a tiny bit of the protection of the armor. Just found that out the other night.
The round table warp is something I had no idea you could do. Wow. Great stuff. Great game. Probably one of my favorite games I have ever played. Maybe my favorite of all time. I'm in the SEEKERS group and I love seeing other members bloodstained or notes. Game on gamers.
I have a feeling the IRL inspiration was the Dancing Plague of 1518 where people uncontrollably danced for 2 months, 400 danced themselves to death...because truth is stranger than fiction sometimes.
There is another way to complete the beginning of varre's quest. You can use an imbued sword key at the four belfries to warp back to the starting location, there in the room you begin in, will be a murdered maiden... and also beat the living crap out of that grafting creature while you're there
Can't say how awesome the SEEKERS group is, im not active with any members other than watching the videos, but seeing y'alls signs and blood pools amongst the others has been amazing!
Joining the Seekers group has been a great move. The buffs are great, but more importantly, most of the group, generally, leaves behind really solid advice.
Some amendments to the video / things I've learned from the comments below:
On point 7 - Wyatt Weir in the comments has pointed out that the two mausoleums without bells in upper Liurnia "will only duplicate the legendary remembrances (not the shard bearers)".
The iron whetblade lets you use any physical scaling for ashes."

In DS1, I accidentally pressed R1 instead of A on the Pardoner. I'm convinced this kind of mistake is why it's done at statues instead of NPCS in DS3 & Elden Ring.
Can’t tell you how many times I accidentally hit Andre and lost access to his blacksmithing
Hitting any other NPC can be fixed at the pardoner. The problem with hitting the pardoner is then you can't talk to him to fix it!

I mean, I got 130 poise and the damn rats still stagger me anyway. 8 poise not gonna matter that much
You need both poise and heavy weapons, just like in DS3
@@ir-dan8524 because again from software doesn't know how armour works
@@ir-dan8524 130 poise with colossal sword vs rats headbutts, no chance of winning whatsoever
Want to say that (minor spoilers) killing the living boulders in the later underground area (you'll know the place if you haven't been there yet) will always dop a larval tear on the first kill!
some big death status guy in mt gelmir near the volcano manor also drops one
This can be farmed. Help others through this area and each ball drops another tear for you as well if they havent killed it prior. I went through here with 3 friends jad 15 or so tears.
Easiest way to kill these is Night's Mist. They get trapped in the doors or on corners.
In fact Night's Mist has killed more things for me than any other spell 😂
With the amount of lore I'm discovering just by myself I can't wait for those Prepare to cry videos Vaati! Keep up the good work, your videos are amazing! Praise the Erdtree!
Yeah that's the ones I'm waiting for
Minor observation- when item farming (i.e slaughtering rats for Rune Arcs), pop a Rune Arc with Godrick's Rune to increase your Arcane stat along with all the others. +5 Arcane gives a minor but noticeable discovery boost, and as soon as you get one Arc to drop its paid for itself.
This is smart af

For those who don't know, the more summons you have for a boss fight, the more hp it gets and the more damage it deals. 2 summons will equal a one shot on some of the harder hitting bosses

You can also use an imbued key at the the 2nd highest portal at 4 belfries and warp back to the start of the game church where a maiden is located. You can also kill the start boss and get shield sword if you missed it before
THATS HOW U GET THERE OMG TYSM
Also, the previously locked door at that starting church will be unlocked when you travel there from the Belfry ;)
You know the game is massive when even the King Vaati is missing/forgetting info and learning from the comments! 😆 If you see this Vaati we all appreciate you ❤️
That and he's really been enjoying the hell out of the game
"I look at scenes like this, covered in blood, and you make me so proud."
That sounds so heartwarming yet concerning out of context.
Also! If anyone is playing a Faith Build and wondering, "Where the hell is my Lighting Spear!?" go kill the random Elite Godrick Knight wandering just outside the Lunaria artist shack. He'll drop a prayer book you can turn in to get a bunch of lightning incantations. Cuz you know... of course it drops off a random nameless soldier with no indication of anything.
whats your max hit with a lightning bolt? i only got like ~200 with it charged up
@@huh2597 I do about 420 dmg charged up. Make sure to level up your seal and your faith to increase damage (talismans also help)
First of its not just a random enemy. It's literally the only enemy walking around in that area so its kinda obvious its there for a reason. Second Its a DRAGON CULT KNIGHT, not a Godrick knight hence why its a whole different color and drops the prayer book. Lol
That's why I kill everyone at least once , fomo issues lol
@@huh2597 you can do ridiculous numbers of damage with that incantation and it comes out so fast, one of my favorites. If you have the golden order seal that boosts all fundamentalist incantations plus the lightning scorpion charm you will do some crazy numbers.
Great video! One small detail I’ve noticed that I haven’t seen anyone mentioning: when you pick up materials/ingredients you’ll see a quick summary of whatever you picked up on the right side of the screen. The bars appearing for items that respawn will be black, whereas those for non respawnable items will be blue (at least that’s what I’ve seen so far)
It doesn’t have a huge impact but I think it’s good to be aware of it
oh that's cool
Thank you for posting all these details and guides to help a novice to FromSoft games get his character to a stage where he at least has a chance of defeating Godrick. Much appreciated! Great storytelling as always.
You got this man! Go get em!
Easy way for everyone w/o waiting for upgrade materials for damage - there are bleed weapons, equip a semi fast bleed weapon, learn boss patterns, marvel at the bleed damage. Godrick CAN bleed.
You can do it we all started off that way and still get our asses kicked while playing them so good luck ^__^
Thank you everyone for all the kind and supportive comments. I will be taking on Godrick this weekend and will keep all your tips in mind. Will let you guys know once I've defeated him.
Defeated Godrick this weekend and I am on my way to Raya Lucaria!
@@Yul_B_Awright my moonlight great sword does that without costing fp every cast
@@pyrokine9538 I have that too and use it when I don't feel like casting, but Adulas does significantly more damage when you hit with blade + shockwave at least in my Setup (80 int + lusats staff), has a faster wind up, and hits a bigger area
@@pyrokine9538 it also takes three hours to charge the sword lol
I wouldn't be surprised if there are other NPC quests that can be done in this way.
the baldachin blessings also give a ton of damage resistances on top of the poise so its good for boss encounters aswell
With some dex, it comes out faster than rolls and three uses almost guarantee a hit against moderately good players
Definitely seen a few players use it, looks cool and it can combo into a few spells (shortening their cast time by like ~20%) just like Catch Flame. It'll probably stay slept on until someone makes an "INSANE BROKEN COMBO, YOU WONT BELIEVE" video tho.
This is such an insane spell, you can just run people down while spamming it, quite insane lol
stone of gurranq is better in every way lol higher damage, spammable faster and does way more poise damage, only downside is it kinda sucks for hitting flying stuff and the range isn't incredible but i've honestly stopped using it because it's SO strong it takes ALL the challenge out of killing stuff lol
@@zeening oh shot, this is what I was talking about lmao. Bestial sling sucksssss
Vaati!!!! So glad i get to see more of this man's vids since ER released
the weather boost/nerfs confused me because, i had no idea where an extra 20% fire res came from, nor did i for the -20 lighting res.
You can do the "kick" move with rapiers and curved swords
You know like the fancy back step with an attack you'd do with those specific weapon classes?
Lol.
No dude you did well to save them, you might need them
@@LogicAndCompassion It's not like embers.
Sounds like PvP time.
The Prepare to Cry’s for this game are going to be insane. I can’t wait! It’s also been an incredible time being part of the Seekers group!

I'd like to add that you can meet Boc even earlier than what you showcased here after progressing his quest for the free armor alterations to become available. 😁
Underrated comment, thanks for your help, wondered where he'd disappeared to after the second location in the cave!
Some tips :
- Loadout management : if you press the button to switch item/spell/weapon long enough, you will switch back to the first equipped item/spell/weapon of that slot (from left to right)
- The talismans that change your appearance, making you appear as a host or a summoned phantom do apply to the Mimic Summon, allowing it to be golden or "normal" (without its ghostly white color)
- Each spell and incantation school has its own symbol, which is visible on its icon (on the sheet of paper behind the visual representation of the spell).
- There are a lot of catalysts designed to be used by hybrid builds or that are even best suited for builds that don't use the main casting attributes :
Dragon Communion seal scale with Arcane the most and, as such, doesn't require too much investment into Faith to cast powerful incantations.
Clawmark Seal has a really good scaling with Strength and apply it to the incantations, allowing for a build that uses Strength as a primary attribute for casting.
Golden Order seal allows to use intelligence as a the main casting attribute without having to heavily invest in faith
Albinauric Staff scale primarily with Arcane, making it the primary casting stat... and making the bleed effect of the thorn sorceries even better.
- Catalysts that boost damage from schools of sorceries/incantations do so when held, not when used to cast...
This means that you can hold the boosting catalyst in one hand AND cast with another catalyst (that scales better with your build) with your other hand.
Tip: Remembrances can be duplicated after you've spent them so you don't need to keep them around just because you might duplicate them later.
So if I already used Radahns remembrance & then find the corresponding turtle I can still duplicate it?
There’s no corresponding mausoleum. Any one with a bell can duplicate any remembrance, whether or not you’ve used the remembrance doesn’t matter. You can only use each mausoleum once though.
@@leberntaco1795 That's not exactly true, the two mausoleums together in Liurnia can only duplicate non-shardbearer remembrances
@@leberntaco1795 Alex is correct, I couldn't duplicate my Godrick remembrance in the walking mausoleums in Liurnia, so there is some kind of correspondence
you mean I can sell it for the souls then replicate it again for an item?
"Quality of life changes that the game doesn't tell you about"
Never change Fromsoft. Thank you Miyazaki, very cool!
10/10 masterpiece GOTY
The game tells you about pretty much all of these though. Gamers just have shit reading comprehension
Thanks for the info! I'm doing an Arcane build and I'm almost at Nokron
yeah the Black Whetblade, let's you put bleeding occult and poison, also for the record i've got 99 arcane and the weapons that scale off arcane tend to give X +587, and the bleed damage on weapons w the bleed affix from the Black Whetblade is 105-147 when the weapons are +25 depending on the weapon's speed.
also the dragon communion seal is amazing for arcane builds that use incantations, has the highest damage scaling on any staff or seal i've seen so far at like 397 with 99 arcane and like 83 faith & then you can put another seal in your offhand if you wanna get a +damage type like the beastial incantations
