Another thing to note; in that final area filled with corpses you can find the Nomadic Merchant's Set. The description states: "These merchants once thrived as the Great Caravan, but after being accused of heretical beliefs, their entire clan was rounded up and buried alive far underground. Then, they chanted a curse of despair, and summoned the flame of frenzy". All those corpses *are* merchants and the ones above ground are just the remnants of their tribe.
For the assassin boss that's completely invisible pay attention to the water because once he starts running at you it'll start splashing and that's how I was able to defeat him
Sentry's Torch will reveal invisible enemies even when you have it on your back (2handing your main weapon), even though it doesn't give off any light when doing so.
200 hours deep my first playthrough. Just hit the finale area. Can finally feel comfortable watching Vaati content without fear of spoilers. The real Elden Ring legendary unlock
Same. I pointedly did not watch any of his Elden Ring content, or indeed watch *anything* related to the game before playing it for myself. After getting my first ending, I am now learning how much I missed while playing through with a second character. (First time playing a FromSoft game as a sorcerer.)
Those are not secrets but massive spoilers. I recently finished my first playthrough clocking in at 400 hours and I found everything. Even understood most of the story. But hoo boy did it take a while. lol
Little useful side note about Sentry and Beast-Repellent torches. You dont have to have it out in your off-hand. You can actually 2H your main weapon and still get the effect of the torch while its hanging on your back.
After i got the beast repellent torch, i went over to the nearest trex dog with it equipped and kept rolling around it and taunting it. It eventually stopped caring about my torch and started attacking me
@@bastardog7998 Is that true? I was going to say OP had a really useful tip, since From, for some reason, made it so you can't change the Sentry Torch's Ash of War to put No Skill on it, but if it only lasts that long then it's back to uselessville
The Sentry Torch is "bestowed with a special incantation that allows the bearer to see assassins *cloaked in veils."* Interestingly enough, the Black Knife armor set provides stealth buffs that make your footsteps completely silent, but only the chest piece... and if you alter that piece (which removes the veil), you also remove the stealth buff. So it's literally the JUST veil that provides their invisibility and stealth.
@@DarkSerapheim Yeah, Concealing Veil, which has lore that corresponds with the Black Knife armor and has a different stealth effect (makes you effectively invisible when crouching at a distance). They make for a great combo.
Honestly a full lore video on the Flame of Frenzy and the “Outer Gods” would be really cool, please make one when you can! (Also great work finding all this stuff, i had no idea how to open the door before that riddle, but I think I know what to do now, thanks! I also had no clue there was another area you could go to from that place, it just seemed like a dead end)
No doubt he has that in store for us. The current issue is there's still a lot of the lore to unravel since the game was released so recently. There's still a lot of wiki pages that haven't been filled out because we've only barely scratched the surface. So far the only thing we know about the three fingers are what their motivations are.
My brother and I had a theory that madness is influenced by gwyn, because they see flame that drives them to go mad. The tree could be a representation of his miracles and be a sort of rebirth. That's just the gist of it
Vaati amazing as always. No cheesy click bait title with over the top thumbnail. Easy to navigate and go back to highlights with timestamps added. Beautiful 1440p resolution not lazy striped content from a previous stream. Just good, well presented, clearly spoken and delivered souls content people actually want to watch. You have a skill my friend, hope to continue watching these as I have even years to come. Thank you for you videos.
He has been one of the best blessings to this community since the days of Dark Souls. I know I've loved his content from Prepare to Cry, and deep lore dives in the original games and I'm desperately looking forward to ER content. Though he did leave us hanging on some BB Prepare to cry lore...
really? i mean, i get why, but from my point of view, every next era will be better then the one before, making games in 100 years, so much better then what we will ever be able to see. its like beeing glad to witness the first movie with color in cinema, but not beeing around anymore, when lord of rings hits the screen
@@dharkbizkit Elden Ring is going to be forever known as one of the best games of all time. Plus they're making it into a series, and the community is absolutely amazing. It also leads to a hidden better ending, since this means whatever ending you choose, provided you do Millicent's questline and kill Malenia, Melina gets to live.
@@StrikeWarlock What's the hidden better ending? Did that before the Fire Giant and I didn't see Melina ever again in a cutscene or otherwise after she said her goodbyes at the grace outside the three fingers. Is it in the credits or something?
@@AMBATUKAM11111 You accept the frenzy before setting the tree on fire,Melina will tell you she is disappointed and goes to sesrch for another tarnished. You beat the giant, set the tree on fire thus she gets to live. Now since you accepted the frenzy you are stuck with that ending unless you reverse it in Farum Azula's secret dragon boss room. In order tk reverse the flame youd need Miquella's needle which you get after finishing Milicents quest and beating Malenia. You use the needle as soon as the boss fight in Azula starts and the flame is reversed thus giving you the option to use any other ending. Unfortunately you dont see Melina again
The last secret is by far the most sinister and involved lore. I walked through those doors without any research and found myself in a state and with an ending I was not for. It’s like Miyazaki knows how the human brain works and introduced an out just in case folks don’t like being tricked into an unresolvable ending. Excellent way to make players journey a very unique quest to get rid of the “infliction”.

My favorite thing about Elden Ring is When I think I got it figured out even Map wise . It expands on what I thought was already amazing. I recently found the Underground and I am SHOCKED they added a completely different map.
I had the exact same experience. I got transported a few times and went "how big is this thing?!" I googled it and my jaw dropped. But then I got the map in the underground and my jaw dropped again. This game is insane.
@@chaotickreg7024 I'm already 60 hours In so I figured that's gotta be it.. from software really put their all into this game and it shows. The quality of locations is also tripping me out I expected most dungeons and caves to look the same. I haven't ran into a single copy paste cave. A tip you missed! You know those crystal darts that you have building up in your inventory? Throw them at any kind of stone machination, such as the cat statues (or even the little flying imps) and they’ll start attacking each other!
If you follow Hyetta's questline to the end, she will be in that room before the mysterious door. There she will give you a hint on how to open the door, which was how I was able to figure out how to open it. She says something along the lines of: "Go to the door ahead, after divesting yourself of your possessions. It will surely open..."

Thank you for all of the years of quality content. I am very happy that we are all just breaking the surface of content for this masterpiece of a game.
For the invisible assassin's they're quite aggressive in how they approach you. I found surrounding yourself with the black flame incantation that circles you an ideal means of stunning them. They'll aggressively attempt to get in closer once their position is exposed by them walking straight into the flames
I was standing with my back to the wall and waving my sword constantly in front of me, hoping that when he approached, I would hit him, sometimes it worked, but usually magical and he teleported for me, although it was not physically logical because there was a wall
Frenzy flames lore is the most interesting to me. When I learned the madness is a result of being shown a truth so shocking that it makes you got insane I was instantly hooked on that story line and had to know more
@@AidsTiger Yeah I don't get why she's viewed as the one good ending. She literally caused this insanity in the first place by getting Merika's favorite child "killed." Fair enough. The Golden Order isn't necessarily moral. Order without any chaos stifles growth. But it's heavily implied she gets her loyal followers killed once she no longer needs them. And forgoing responsibility isn't a moral outcome. I think the standard ending is ironically the best ending for the regular people and species. You could rule as benign. Perfect order and definitely Perfect chaos would be worse.
You can just kill them with anything, then sit back and watch the fireworks. Especially fun in that room where they keep dropping from the ball on the ceiling.
@@dowfreak7 yeah but being charged with lightning I assumed they would resist but it seemed to deal extra, plus hitting a group with the frozen lightning is just *chefs kiss*

It’s amazing this only took 3 years to develop from start to finish (not counting the polishing phase) even with decent size team working, Im thoroughly impressed 👏
@@tincano-beans2114 You say that, but after you establish a vaguely connected series of games with huge following, there's absolutely no need to build everything from scratch for the sake of making it look slightly different. Reusing a ton of assets is fine.

@@azure-hawk If you don't mind using a shield, you can run up to them while blocking, block their first attack then guard counter, then you can just spam fast attack to finish them. I finished my first playthrough at around 170 hours, and have already had a completely different experience on my second playthrough, including npcs and entire areas i didnt find the first time
I still feel like this at almost 200 hours. I’m shocked by how much hidden content there is in this game every time I boot it up. I’m so glad they chose an open world. So many possibilities.
When I did Stormveil I purposefully did it really slow to find as much as possible. Then I checked a 100% guide and realized, that I did not only miss the occiasional item but whole sections of the castle, including several graces. This game is so amazing.
As for the note to miquella's needle, there is an easier cheese to break the shack: stand next to it, quit out of the game and load back in. the spawning animation of the player deals a lot of environmental damage and breaks most breakable environmental objects, so that the player doesnt get stuck in them. sadly doesnt work for the statues that requires trolls/bears to break :(
It's the same in bloodborne, just yesterday I loaded up a save just before Orphan of Kos and it killed the snail girls next to the entrance. I felt kind of bad
With all the lore videos that have been dropping all over youtube I just want to say, I can't wait for your take on Elden Ring's stories. No one does it like you man.
I've been loving all the lore around the frenzied flame, especially the merchant gone mad that's still alive playing the only thing he still remembers.
I listen to the music and thought: "cool, there's a merchant down there, wonder what he sells". Imagine my shock when I realize who was playing the music.
I was so disappointed when I tried a gravity attack against Malenia’s flying wombo combo and it didn’t work. I thought it would have been an awesome lore based solution for the worst attack in the game to be stopped by Radahn’s magic.
I mean technically she's not flying, she's leaping in the air and then suspending herself through a series of lightning fast swipes of her massive katana.
If the Malenia/Radahn fight ended in a standstill, then maybe it's intentional. Itd be cool if gravity magic doesn't work on her for some reason and THAT'S one reason why she was able to fight Radahn to a standstill
I literally went to the frenzied flame village once and never came back. I talked to Hyetta only once, I did not know that the flame of frenzy has it’s own damn ending and so much content behind it… ER surprises me once again!
I have 203 hours in Elden RIng at the moment. Literally 2 seconds into this video and my mind was blown. It seems there's endless amount of new things to learn about this game.
This game is insane. How is it possible for a staff to put this much content in a game?! How long did they use to make this? If you gave me a billion years I couldn't do it!
In regards to the Sentry Torch, if you use it to reveal the hidden assassins in the Ordina Liturgical Town evergael, you can put it away afterwards and you'll still be able to see the assassins. So if you want to use a shield or a second weapon against them, that's possible. This might work with the other hidden assassins, but the assassins in Ordina are the only ones I have tested it on.
This part was so frustrating for me even with the torch, because in this area specifically, taking out the torch causes these massive lag/stuttering waves on a short cycle (on base ps4). I suspect it must have something to do with its particles or animation in tandem with the heavy snowfall in the area
The funny thing about this town, I scouted out the path beforehand so I only had to touch the ground twice. Never got caught by the invisible guys. Figured you weren't supposed to fight them haha (didn't get attacked but heard one once when I missed a jump, those archers OP)
@@allknowingidiot1835 yeah i was wondering if there was a glitch because my health was always really low on the roof tops but it was because the archers do so much damage and i hadnt paid attention attention (mainly focused on the assassins)
Fun fact. I remember when I was scouring through Stormveil that I had hit one of the hawks with a Radahn Spear Greatarrow, and because the arrows emit gravity magic when they're fired they have the same effect as gravity spells. Kinda neat how FromSoft thinks of all of these little details.
For the unseen assassin, I used Greyoll's Roar to debuff him, and even when he was invisible I could see the debuff aura floating around, and let's not forget the fact you can somewhat guess where it is when you're in water thanks to the splashing.
Vaati, I started watching your videos when I was 15. I am 24 now and it's almost been 10 amazing years of you and your Lore. Thank you so very much good sir.
5:15 if you read the description of the Root resin, it says that “the roots of the Great Tree were once entwined with the Erd Trees”. The roots at the ends of catacombs, especially the ones that have death roots are a part of separate tree from the Erd Tree, called the Great Tree.
I think its referring to the Haligtree... its dead by the way if you look up the tree. And the City almost looks like lyndell... its basically the twin of leyndell and the erdtree... just dead. Like yin and yang
The Haligtree was actually trying to become an Erdtree, being watered with Miquella's blood, but failed. I doubt it's the same as the Great Tree. You can find this from the Haligtree Crest Surcoat description.
nah, the Haligtree is an imitation Erdtree that Miquella/St. Trina planted near the Giant's area to possibly cure Malenia's Scarlet Rot, the "Great Tree" is Probably the other Tree that you see underground in Stormveil Castle and the Wide area/Fia's last location in Deeproot depths, you could see two large tree roots in that area, one under Lyndell for the Erdtree, and the other connected to Godwyn's corpse, with a serpent and where you get the mending rune of the death-prince.
The roots at the end of catacombs are usually geographically located beneath the minor erd trees you see throughout the overworld. It is another neat world design by From connecting those minor erdtrees to the catacombs around them. One of the items (forgot which) also states that important people / beings / creatures were buried under these minor erdtree roots to honor them. That's why the powerful mobs / bosses are located there. As for deathroots, you find a majority of them outside of catacomb roots anyway.
I love how this game is just... logical. Fighting an enemy made of crystal, and your sword isn't doing much damage? Just hit it with a club or hammer - logically it's easier to shatter a crystal with a hammer than a knife. Monster with a backpack of bombs? Light it on fire and watch them explode. Undead enemies? Heal them. Big, armoured enemies? Knock them over and hit the soft spot. I'm so used to games where it's just "hit until it dies" that this kinda stuff blows my mind. This is the first time I've really played a Souls game, and it's amazing. Thanks for the video, Vaati!
if you're an Alchemist like me, and need your ovaries from land octopi. You can kill them quickly and nerf their damage and range by slicing off their long front tentacles. You can cut both of their arms off allowing for an easy kill. It also does massive damage allowing for quick farming. so cool
You are in for a ride, with time your amazement will only continue to grow as you notice that every little detail is purposefull, every mechanic is connected to the lore. Nothing is random and the ammount of details no matter how small all come together in harmony to form the bulk of the story. This games are a work of art and I'm happy more people are putting in the efford to discover just how magnificent they are. It took me years to understand souls games and it always feels like there is more to discover, more connections to make and every so often the genious that lies within continues to show itself to be bigger than I previously tought it to be. It's endless
I got the frenzied flame ending my 2nd play through by accident, I thought that picking the other choice at the end of Millicent quest line would still get you the needle. It didn't and I was stuck throwing the world into chaos, this time I was able to quell the frenzied flame. The ending cinematic was really cool tho.

I'm 110 hours in. I'm not sure how far I am in the overall story. I beat the Draconic Tree Sentinel yesterday. So I haven't really even been inside the Capitol yet. I've done alot of exploring. I also beat the 2 gargoyles I'm Siofra/Nokron yesterday and did some exploring around the Volcano Manor area.

You'll probably end the game around 190 to 200 hrs. I ended yesterday at 220hrs just because me and my friends mess around and pvp a lot. This game just keeps on giving men.
Regarding the secret area within the underground area, it's tied closely with Hyetta's questline. If you follow it, you'll eventually meet another NPC who will tell you how to get here and then Hyetta herself will tell you how to open the door in a super obvious way (I was actually surprised she didn't phrase it like Vaati did, but the NPCs seem less vague in ER than other FS titles).
Sadly, if you look up Hyettas quest online, there are lots and lots of people that were locked out of the questline. You're supposed to be invaded at this one shack that's full of the health item that grants poison. It happened to me as well and I'm really disappointed because the reward for the quest is an item I desperately needed for my build. Even on NG+ people are still being locked out of the quest. Killing this invader grants a grape and without it you can't progress the storyline. Hopefully will get patched soon.
Again a few reasons why I think this is one of the best games ever made. The attention to detail is incredible. The game can be brutal, but for every obstacle, there is way to make it easier.
elden ring is as hard as you want. if you want it to be easy it will be. Just summon something to fight for you, farm a bit more lvl's, play OP builds, or play against statuses (counter).
As someone who followed the Frenzy questline and felt immediate regret, the path that it takes you on for redemption is literally insane. It's as twisted as you'd expect something like that to be.
Honestly i got this ending on my third playthrough and thought this ending is badass, you litterally become a frenzy god and burn the erd tree to a stump and kill everything in your path. Not only that Melina will find you and kill you and is such a good segway to a dlc
Crystal darts can actually make enemies mad and make them attack anyone in sight. This is very helpful on some twin bosses, like erdtree watchdogs, one cat just kills the other in a few hits. Not sure on how many enemies it works, so go and try it out for yourself.
Crystal Darts are a consumable item like the throwing knife, the recipe book for it can be bought in Liurnia, should be one of the first merchants you meet in the area. It seemingly turns enemies against each other, I haven't used it personally, but I've seen people use it for the Watchdog and Crystallian fights, when there's two or more of them. There's also an item called a Bewitching Branch, which actually says in the description, that it makes an enemy into your Ally briefly, using FP. You can choose this as your starting item, or later on find a recipe book for it, I haven't used this either, but it would be good to see if it worked on dual or triple bosses.
85 hours into my first playthrough, and I am struggling to keep any of this lore straight, I find it amazing how you manage to piece it together so quickly. Honestly the stuff I put together I feel is always off, especially when compared to the notes of the wider community.
It's quite a bit more straight-forward than the standard Souls lore, but it's not a clear-cut story. There are things that happen and you know who did it, but then you don't know HOW exactly they did WHAT, how far back it was, what the implications are for the future etc. It's still very much a "community-driven" lore, in the sense that a lot of the things can be interpreted in different ways and it's up to the people to decide what something might mean.
@@Hekk. there's literally a ton of lore here linking the merchants together as an actual tribe who collectively use and are related to frenzy magics and who collectively suffered some great tragedy wherein most of their tribe ended up as unburied corpses in an underground cavern. No, this isn't that 30 minute in-depth explanation video he referenced, but it is akin to a box of puzzle pieces with many of the parts already put together in advance. Im also kind of proud to have found out about everything from this video, except the poison and the torch for the assassins by myself. This game is awesome and I want more games like it.
Actually super proud of myself right now, I found all of these except for the Sellia Hideaway on my own! Always made sure to buy all notes from Merchants and read them. Even had to reload a save after reading what walking through that WRETCHed door will do to Melina
Walked in and immediately regretted it afterwards. Luckily I got the note about the needle so kinda happy since I didn't have to sacrifice anything or anyone according to the finger reader or the lunatic that told me to go below the capital lol.
@@briskzilla9439 Spoiler, obviously: Behind the door are the 3 fingers, aka Lord of Frenzy. A cutscene will play during which they embrace you and scorch your body, giving you permanent scars and dark yellow madness eyes (can be toggled off at cosmetic mirror in Lia's room at Roundtable Hold). This will prompt Melina to leave the player permanently. Upon beating the final boss and not using Miquella's needle to remove the frenzy curse, you are locked out of choosing an ending. @@fdevaa i wouldn't dare going through that door if I didn't have that needle yet, since I'm not that confident that I can definitely beat Melania to obtain that lol
We've got a magical tree, like Demon Souls, living dead like Dark Souls, Outer Gods like Bloodborne, a flame that consumes you like Sekiro, and yet, no Maidens.
If darks souls didn’t exists I would have thought this was a direct sequel to demons souls happily. Something about the guards and type of enemy that reminds me more of Demons Souls than DS1.
I found that I pretty well had the Beast Repellent Torch equipped in my offhand slot a lot of the time so I could stroll by all the beast type enemies and they would just leave me be. It was very helpful at lower levels and even further on in the game
There are several helmets ("Nox Mirrorhelmet", "Iji's Mirrorhelmet") said to "ward off the intervention of the Greater Will and its vassal Fingers". This makes them kinda related to "Miquella's Needle". Maybe wearing one of these can influence ingame events or one of the endings aswell?
I don't think wearing one can prevent you getting the hidden bad ending, as you have to get naked to open that door shown in this video. And once you have the Frenzy Flame's marking, only Miquella's Needle can remove the mark. The mirror helmets likely add some sort of status resistance. To tie an ending to an obscure piece of armour, would be unheard of in a FromSoft game.
They suppress the influence of the Outer Gods, but this also reveals how the Greater Will is also an Outer God itself That said, the strongest of wills can somewhat fight back, Blaidd is the best example of that.
The Royal Revenants being hurt by healing magic is fantastic! It's like in D&D, Pathfinder, or Final Fantasy with how undead could be hurt by healing magic
Sadly in DnD5e thats not the case anymore... just special spells do that, Cure Wounds and Healing Word for example just dont heal undead but dont damage them anymore :/ It got somehow convoluted and streamlined at the same time.
Nothing stopping you from homebrewing that a Cure spell can damage undead or an Inflict spell can heal them, aye. Probably just didn't want to make it a universal rule for all Necrotic damage since that'd restrict design space down the line for what they can do with Necrotic spells (case in point- Chill Touch, a Necrotic cantrip with special additional effects when used against usually resistant Undead enemies)

Idk if you've covered this Vaati, the erdtree burial watchdogs will "short circuit" after a few crystal daggers. If there is more than one, they will start attacking each other.
The same applies to all the magic constructs with bodies of stone. The imps as well will frenzy on each other after a few dart hits. The shattershard arrows do not seem to have the same effect.

@Undefined Variable, there’s an elevator by the minor Erdtree in East Limgrave that leads under ground. You should also explore East Limgrave after you defeat Radhan- you’ll know when you see it.
Honestly, Vaati's videos has made the souls community's such a treat to be part of. He really enriches our experience in the best ways, much like the games themselves. Cannot wait for the lore videos to begin rolling out.
9:24 Spoiler for the ending. Just take your armor off to open the door. And if you don’t want to be the lord of frenzy since you’re locked into it once the 3 fingers touches you. Use Miquella’s Needle at the Dragonlord Placidusax boss arena after killing him.
I found another kinda neat trick/secret. You can use your bow to aim and then throw a throwing knife, which can be useful if you’re all out and can’t craft any more, or for ranged elemental damage 👍
Can't wait to see full breakdown on evey story, every quest and of course evey ending It's honestly more engaging than most shows and movies for a person like me
Bro I remember getting the note for the land squirts I thought it said land squids so I was trying to poison a land squid and nothing happened I was really confused lol
@@unclevivid9028 Exactly what makes this whole thing confusing. Land octopi are stupidly weak to poison, and as a brand new character only poison is likely to touch them. So when coupled with the land-squirt note, the instant connection becomes "this thing is weak to poison, land-squirts are weak to poison, this is therefore a landsquirt".
Vaati, tbh you should've included in your fair warning in "The Wretch" riddle segment that there is no going back or option to refuse after opening the door, and that Melina will leave you forever, even if you get miquella's needle & reverse it, Melina will still be gone. I unfortunately solved the riddle & opened the door & I really didn't want to lose Melina, I thought that what she said to me before entering the room was just a disclaimer & that there would've been at least a choice or dialogue box to refuse after opening the door
@@captainluke2881 you're essentially forced into an ending and the needle is the only way to cancel it, according to Omar it also affects the relationship of you and Melina in that she leaves you because you accepted the frenzied flame and there is no way to mend the relationship, after all not all "mistakes" intentional or not can be forgiven.
This also happened to me in my first blind playthrough. i was PISSED, because i was curious to see what she would do at the forge. And she didn't even warn me at the checkpoint. i know this because i made sure to rest at every grace to see if she had dialogue. Maybe a bug? i dunno. Still ruined my experience :/
10:16 You can also quit out and load back in next to them. The loading in animation deals object damage so you don't get stuck in something loading in, true going all the way back to DS1 where it was used to take out the breakable wall in Sen's Fortress during speedruns

Hey Vaati. Great video as usual. You might have missed that there is an item (actually a set of armor) that you can get in the large "tower" leading from the Catherdral of the Forsaken to the Frenzied Flame Proscription. It's hidden under a tent like structure that I couldn't break myself, but if you bait the enemy to use one of their spells on it it will break to reveal the Nomadic Merchant's armor set. Just like the note about the needle except on a higher floor, and the light from the item is harder to see. They have some *very* interesting lore tied to them, that deepens (completely confirms) the connection between the merchants and the Flame of Frenzy.
I am on my third playthrough right now, and while I knew about the hidden Great Caravan area I had no idea there's a secret entrance to Deeproot Depths, that's so cool! Elden Ring's world is truly so vast, I love how I keep finding new things whenever I come back...
Man I remember that two year wait after the game was announced. Even then I could never have predicted how much detail and effort Elden Ring has. They really didn't waste any time.
thank you vaati for explaining what the statues meant. ive gotten a solid 90% of the way through and had no idea, and going back im finding so many places i didnt uncover before whenever i feel like an area is “too empty” im quickly reminded of how i simply didnt see the special secrets in (almost) plain sight
Did you guys know that the blue crystal boss and mob monsters can be staggered by fire and then take a very high increase in damage. I dont really know if it's the same with just a blunt weapon but it seems like fire staggers them a certain way
Re: The Assassin fight. The reason there is water on the ground in that fight is so you can see there footfalls when they approach. I beat her solo with melee using this method.

Still on my first run and I'm skipping out on the frenzied flame ending, so yes I'd like to hear what it's all about including the needle. Might go for that on my second or third or sixth run. Elden Ring is such an incredible game, it reminds me of all the great times I had with Dark Souls 3.
Yes, do not go for the Frenzy Flame ending, it's a bad ending. Melina also leaves your service, and she vows to kill you, so after you get the mark, you'll never be able to talk to her again, even if you get rid of it using Miquella's Needle. Doing Hyetta's questline with the Shabriri Grapes will lead her to being your new maiden, should you go through with the Frenzy Flame path.
@@SmootherThanSilk Oh wow i didnt know about hyetta, will she burn the erdtree if you dont? Also does she serve any purpose as maiden, considering you can still level once melina leaves?

I went for the frenzied flame ending on my first run and finished 85 hours in, malekiths armour looks awesome when you become lord of frenzy (it already looks awesome), I didn’t do the quest I just went straight down because, frenzied flame is the no hoes ending, getting a hoe in the ending is the bad ending, getting no hoes of frenzied flame is the true good ending.
Just discovered your channel to find out if I missed anything in these notes. Instead I found that I love how you narrate these vids. It's so soothing, yet cryptic, hiding undertones of mystery and suspense. Keep it up.
This Game is so packed with content that is almost unbelievable! It has its flaws but no matter I mean... Hundreds of hours of content and actual gametime! Love it.
The heal over time incantations are actually the most efficient way to kill Royal Revenants per FP cost. Even the basic regen spell will keep ticking until they die. I'm talking 100% to 0. So in areas where you're not forced into actually fighting one, you can just use the regen and break aggro to just watch them die.
I was just fighting some of the fire monks near the lake and I noticed something really interesting. It was night time and as I engaged in combat with the monks the erd tree disappeared. It became slowly became more and more dark around me. After the battle I looked around for the erd tree and caught it slowly fading back into view. I'm wondering if it's a thing to help with the loading during combat or an actual story or lore thing happening with the monks.
So I've done something on ER. I've made a Great Shinobi Owl build. I throw poison pots and daggers to throw off the enemy, I use the firecracker perfume to keep them distant, Ive even found that the Albanauric Pot keeps them from using flasks for a bit, I've found the kaiden chest piece and gloves look good for this build, and I swap between 2 different Omen Cleavers (Curved Greatsword) for different ashes of war. One for lions claw, one for bloodhound step. Such a great build
"Try Gravity" - those giant skeleton things that hang from the ceiling that bombard you with gravity spells - yeah found out casting rock sling dropped it to half health and stunned it, making the 2nd cast easy to get off. Was amazing
Damn, thats sad.
Damn that’s messed up
Sounds like the perfect content for a future 'Prepare to Cry' vid...
Ah the blood libel
Makes sense why the merchants are always so defensive and scared. On my second playthrough I've been killing them all and they have some neat dialouge
For the assassin boss that's completely invisible pay attention to the water because once he starts running at you it'll start splashing and that's how I was able to defeat him
I just summoned latenia? The archer girl and stuck around her and protected her while she lured the boss
Or use the sentry's flame torch. It'll reveal black knife enemies. (Edit): posted this comment before watching it in the video.
I just put my back against a wall and started swinging. 200 IQ heavy weapon strats.
There’s a boss thats invisible??? Does it stay invisible regardless if it gets hit?
@GarnerSFG when I hit him he’d become visible but only for a short time.
Sentry's Torch will reveal invisible enemies even when you have it on your back (2handing your main weapon), even though it doesn't give off any light when doing so.
Plus, you can still reveal invisible enemies without putting any points into faith.
I hope it never gets patched.
The beast repelling torch's effect also works on your back :) its really handy

Little useful side note about Sentry and Beast-Repellent torches. You dont have to have it out in your off-hand. You can actually 2H your main weapon and still get the effect of the torch while its hanging on your back.

After i got the beast repellent torch, i went over to the nearest trex dog with it equipped and kept rolling around it and taunting it. It eventually stopped caring about my torch and started attacking me
nah...only for a ahort while, like 5-10 seconds...then you need to off hand it again.
Removing the veil should give you the charm if you dont have it yet.
@@1lukarioz really?? Do you lose the charm if your re add the veil?
It is the invisibility cloak
There is also a talisman, though I dont remember where I got it, that is a veil of which the effect is to increase your stealth.

So if you want to use a shield or a second weapon against them, that's possible. This might work with the other hidden assassins, but the assassins in Ordina are the only ones I have tested it on.
Awesome info. Too bad i literally just beat that encounter by running aroynd cursing too much! Lol
@@buttmunchmcnugget328 the ol' reliable I see
This part was so frustrating for me even with the torch, because in this area specifically, taking out the torch causes these massive lag/stuttering waves on a short cycle (on base ps4).
Cool tactic. Im not there yet but I think the rainbow stone arrows would help if you pop a few at the beginning of the fight.
I used that for the Ordina trial but I still couldn't avoid their grab consistently.
It's much worse in the snow.

@@hydramarinee yeah but... the dead roots arent connected to the erdTree...

Idk if 'fight poison with poison' is super logical!

Crystal darts can actually make enemies mad and make them attack anyone in sight. This is very helpful on some twin bosses, like erdtree watchdogs, one cat just kills the other in a few hits. Not sure on how many enemies it works, so go and try it out for yourself.
Ooh. That's the effect I was seeing. I thought I was just doing headshots.
I believe it only works on construct/golem type enemies. Ones made of stone, like the watchdogs.
Woah, like the consumable darts or is this a sorcery? I know you can get needs that charm most enemies.

This is literally a tin foil hat
I don't think wearing one can prevent you getting the hidden bad ending, as you have to get naked to open that door shown in this video. Hey Vaati. Great video as usual. @@gandalf1753 she doesn't burn herself assuming you take on the curse of the frenzied flame you actually burn yourself down to burn the end tree (you will survive this) and melina will in turn survive as she doesn't sacrifice herself but she will hate you from this point on and vow to kill you.
Tldr melina lives but she hates you and hyetta takes her place as finger maiden
I went for the frenzied flame ending on my first run and finished 85 hours in, malekiths armour looks awesome when you become lord of frenzy (it already looks awesome), I didn’t do the quest I just went straight down because, frenzied flame is the no hoes ending, getting a hoe in the ending is the bad ending, getting no hoes of frenzied flame is the true good ending.
The whole community is collectively waiting for Vatti’s lore video on Elden Ring to finally understand it all.
Just the first tip alone made this worth my time. I LOVE that your content offers tips that aren’t just a generic “noob player” tips
I'm convinced that Vaati is a essential part of the soulsborn experience!
vaati carries the soulsborne franchise, because without him, no one would understand the lore. love it
So I've done something on ER.
Was amazing
