South Pasadena is snobby. Pasadena is diverse, nice, tons of shops, restaurants, stores and it's a suburban city feel. People are nice and it's safe. Pasadena is the best place I've lived in LA county 100%
In terms of package theft, you can get a box at the UPS store which you can deliver packages and mail too. They look like a normal address so you can get around people who do not send to P.O. boxes and they will keep your actual address private if you prefer.
Me and my girlfriend was living in Los Angeles then we moved back to my home state Chicago. now we are looking for a 1 bed room in Pasadena california. We need some help on finding a good location where it's quite . great food. Workout gym maybe and affordable rent
I moved here in Jan with my GF and we love it. A bit pricey but its the first time I feel like I'm actually getting what I paid for. I live in Old town near the freeway. The diversity is unmatched and this city is not segregated like most places in LA county. Everyone is friendly and even though it's a city it has a community/ town feel. Best place I've ever lived no joke.
Good video and all true about living in Pasadena. I really like where I live(south west Pasadena) I’ve often thought if I were to move where or what city would I move to? It’s hard to beat my location, just a thought. Keep posting videos I’ll keep watching ☮️✌️☮️
Thanks for the support! Its pretty hard to find anywhere like Pasadena, it's got a good mix of everything. Last year I saw many people apply for rent in Pasadena from even more expensive cities around California like West LA and Bay area!
My dog Riley and I have been followed by 2 Coyotes on Greenwood before in the early morning. They backed off once I noticed them when I turned around but they it was scary as hell.
It’s great but this economy has seen iconic places like “Fredricos” bakery go out of business. Walking down Colorado, every third or fourth business has a “for rent” “for lease” sign. Brick and mortar is a hard sell these days. Have had places on 3rd street (Santa Monica) to old town Pasadena. (Colorado). Soon. Things will get better. Stay safe out there’s. 🕊️😎💫✌️
I am looking to move to Pasadena but have heard that living north of the 210 isn't very safe. How true is this and are there any neighborhoods we should definitely stay away from with regards to safety and ability to run/jog/walk your dog around?
It is more rough just North of the 210 closer to Old Town. If you have a dog I recommend places North East like Casa Grande and Hastings Ranch. Very walkable streets and there is a really good dog park called Alice Park that’s always full of dogs any day of the week!
Don't believe that myth. As long as you aren't literally living on the same block as the projects You'll be fine. Pasadena is a very diverse (True diversity not LA diversity) good area. There's tons of shops/ food and people are friendly. I've lived all over Los Angeles and Pasadena is by Far the best place I've lived.
Most townhomes will have a small outdoor patio for you to put a BBQ and small outdoor furniture. There maybe a public courtyard but it’s usually concrete and planters not much lawn space.
It's pretty hard to commit crime in the premium neighborhoods because most of those homes have private security. I live in just below 210 Fwy in Mid Central, and the only thing I've had to worry about is package theft.
@@livinginpasadena Hi Sir, hope you're well and thanks for the reply and information since I am looking to buy a house in this Area and I am coming from UK.
I promise you Pasadena is safe even the so called bad pockets are far safer than places in LA or other cities in LA county. Theres a rough patch near kings manor (the public housing projects north of the 210 on fair oaks...aside from that and maybe a 5 block radius in orange heights everything is very nice and even those pockets aren't that bad. Pasadena is diverse. You will find Asian, African American, White, and latino families all living on the same street. Something you rarely find in LA. Its a city mostly of families and young working adults.
Oh, I see that often with cars being broken into. It like there signature stamps that they broken into that car before in Pasadena lot of cars and packages thieves especially during COVID-19 when they easy hid there faces.
There homeless shelter if you every wanted to sleep there at night but you need to check in every morning and be there in the evening when they do roll calls and leave at 5am. Lot of my homeless I know there are mentally ill told me that there mental ill shelter that they sometimes stay at night but majority they sleep on the street and also Pasadena give away free food twice a week and about all the homeless will come there on those days every week.
Please don’t move here. Gentrification has caused the rent to skyrocket. Your choices are new overpriced buildings that have been thrown up in a short period OR old overpriced units that are easily 40+ years old (this means little to no amenities). Factor in no overnight parking, crime & gangs, and the City of Pasadena sucky policies it’s not worth it.
I’ve been to Pasadena a few time from the east coast. South Pasadena truly gives you that small town in a big city feel. Very nice city. 👍

What is the property value surrounding suicide bridge
North Arroyo and South Arroyo are some of the most prestigious and expensive areas in Pasadena.
My ex co-worker told me about how they found one body died up in the tree at the suicide bridge and it was nasty ugly trying to take him out.
are there any townhomes in Pasadena with small yards for someone who doesnt really need a house per se but needs a yard for a dog :)
