The Regional Connector just opened which provides a straight, one-seat ride from Pasadena to Long Beach or with a short transfer in Downtown LA, you can transfer to the E line to go to Santa Monica. Also, in addition to the A line, Pasadena has Los Angeles Metro bus service, Pasadena Transit buses, and on-demand ride-hailing service called Metro Micro that services parts of Pasadena and Altadena and functions much like Lyft or Uber all for only $1. It's definitely possible to live comfortably in Pasadena car-free and if you look at Pasadena's history, it was built as a "streetcar suburb" around mass transit and not private automobiles, which is what makes it one of most walkable regions in the County. It would've been nice if you would've discussed these options instead of just saying you "need a car" and I encourage you to try it yourself to see it's actually not that bad.

Thanks for your input! I’ve had clients who commuted metro rail from Pasadena to Downtown LA and Burbank but every person I’ve met eventually got their own car. I’m sure there are people who don’t need private transport but I haven’t met anyone.

I live in Pasadena with 3 teens & no car. We have bikes and feet and bus passes and train rides and friends and we get around just fine 🙂

Pasadena is very clean and safe, especially compared to DTLA. But for me it still has some comparisons with a small town or city. It’s close enough for getting to most places but far enough to feel away from the hustle of Los Angeles. They have some of the most beautiful homes around. 😊

i would never have kids go on that line. just went for the first time, it had hordes of people drugged out, ambassadors asking if okay, no response, from either of the two. in one instance, some mental person flashed a little gun, saying he's "hired security". because a majority drives cars here, there just aren't enough riders to make a healthy mix.

Good vid explaining the differences between the cities nice homes in the San Marino as well.In Melbourne we have separate city councils as well granted not as big as the L.A sprawl but they are just classed as suburbs as they fit into the city footprint. I think the founders of Los Angeles just liked naming things.

Thanks for input! It’s a bit different here….The smaller cities around city of Los Angeles all belong in the County of Los Angeles, but are each individually governed and have their own set of laws and regulations. The laws in Pasadena are alot more strict than city of LA and that’s why it looks so nice here.

I was born in Culver City, family moved to Pasadena’s Bungalow Heaven when I was 5, starting Kindergarten. I moved away 2 or 3 times after graduating, but came back for good when I had my own children. 🩵💜🩷 My multi-generational family LOVES our city!! …The weather, diversity, community, amazing police officers, mountains & hikes, holiday festivities, & all the Christian folks (esp teachers)! There’s just no place like home for us. ***Now, the Dems have ruined a lot of things over the past couple years. (2020-2024) Newsom is THE WORST! I have to say homelessness & crime has skyrocketed under him. And the public schools are no where near the same anymore, glad my kids are all teens about to be done here…BUT! I have hope that things will turn around.
We have a lot of prayer warriors here, & many folks are waking up & becoming more conservative & outspoken about it. Many Pasadenians never leave or always come back. It’s a large city that feels like a small town sometimes. There’s lots of love & beauty here in the City of Roses. 🌹 We’re never bored here. Praying it stays a place that will always feel like home & improves once again more than ever before. We’ve sown many, many blessings into this land.
Peace & blessings to you - whoever sees this! 🕊️💛🙏🏽🌹

For sure avoid Orange Grove Ave, and depending on the age of your kids, Madison Elementary. They're not gonna be learning anything there anyway, and it might be an even worse influence on them, as Black, cause instead of being punked and bullied around, they're gonna be invited to participate in all types of "extracurricular activities". That whole area was awful already in the 1980s. Gunshots at night at least once a couple months.

Absolutely incorrect! I’ve lived here my entire life. 90% of the year it’s sunny & perfect around 75°. It gets to about 100° for like 2 weeks in the summer, and can get cold at night during the winter, down to around 35 or 40° - only before the sunrise. Other than that, it’s beautiful for the vast majority of the year.
