Yeah we gotta fix the school problem. Ridiculous that a place with Cal Tech and the Art Center does not have good public schools. One option would be to turn PCC into a super elite 4 year school, Berkeley on steroids. I would make tuition free in return for teaching in Pasadena public high schools for 4 years.
Pasadena has the most convienence great stores two of everything great hospital actual diversity and a community/ suburban feel despite being a small city.
While Pasadena has far more charm than Glendale, it has *way* more crime. Glendale is more of a bedroom community, very sleepy, super safe; Pasadena is like a miniature metropolitan city.
@julesrandolph79100 I just looked it up and it is true however both cities are far below the US average and are incredibly safe. To me the crime rate being higher in Pasadena is kind of whatever because both cities are really safe. Glendale really has no charm and feels incredibly corporate and fake. The Americana is basically the fake corporate version of Old Town. I do like they have large sidewalks and lots of bicycle parking but it is still quite car centric compared to Pasadena which someone how manages to balance walkability, lively downtowns, and parking really well.
What Is It Like to Live In Glendale?

agree, no one talks about Pasadena, but it’s definitely one of my favorite places in the area
Thanks for the comment
I’ve lived in Monterey park for 10 years and luv how quiet and work in Old Town Pasadena the last 5 yrs, great balance
Just an FYI schools are notoriously bad in Pasadena unless they are private. Great place though.
