Thanks for sharing, Gregg. I love that rail squeal. Cheers, Joe.

My pleasure Joe! It is very loud at times but most trains are pretty quiet considering!

I like the train traveling through the shaded area. It looks like a “tree tunnel”. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks again Bob! Because I use manual exposure, the camera doesn't try to compensate for the shade, so you see it as I see it! I do sometimes tweek the exposure during the shot, but only a small amount .
      Cheers Gregg.

Great catch, I love the angle and the way you move the camera around, I managed to get this train at Eden Hills station and it was my first time seeing a CF and my favourite one at that!

Thanks Kyle! I've had a few decades practice of wrestling cameras..LOL It helps to have good gear, but it's still not easy to get right every time! I'm yet to try Eden Hills, but I'll probably wait till I move down. Glad you got it and saw your favourite CF.

Great capture Gregg. That S curve is sure picturesque, but it also sure looks taxing for the flanges and suspension!

Thank you! The Hills are hard on equipment for sure! Still amazes me how they can lift such long trains up these grades , and with all the curves?
      Cheers Gregg.

Great footage Gregg, the colour is a stand out feature.

Thank you Cam! The camera has 3 sensors , and I always shoot in manual and do a white balance for each location. I do a small amount of colour grading, but usually leave the colours alone and add a bit of contrast.
      Glad you liked it.
      Cheers Gregg 🙂

It’s amazing how the AC4400 are very durable. My friend that works for Union Pacific said they are probably GE’s best locomotive. Wonderful video, love how the struggle up the grade. Cheers from hot and humid Nebraska. Terry.

Hi Terry, yes we have a lot of the GE ACi-46 GT ....or something like that ..LOL . Basically a 4400HP AC unit with the 16 cyl prime mover, as our smaller loading gauge won't allow for the GEVO to fit in the body . We have Gevo's in the West at the Pilbara, but they are directly imported from the US , and not assembled here.
      Cool and nice here!
      Thanks for watching.

Hi Gregg , great video once again how is progress going with the new digs?
Looks like I bet you to it , we are also pulling up stumps and moving to the country.
Nice big property and a large enough garage to swing a cat in , even got permission off the financial controller put an air conditioner too.
I'm also going to leave the layout behind as its not cost effective to take it with me and will be changing to code 83 track as well .
    Hope you are well
    Shaun

Thanks Shaun! Progress is slow but hope to have some news before Christmas? Good on you for moving to the country, are you selling the layout? You won't regret switching to Code 83, it's sleeper size and spacing is to scale , like the rail itself, and you trains look much better on it!
      Good luck with the move!
      Cheers Gregg.

@@FishplateFilms Hi Greg no l won't be selling the layout as it wasn't completed and you couldn't give it away its over 25 Years old.
Yes everyone is saying that code 83 is a good choice and lve learnt a lot from this layout so it will be a fresh canvas .
I for got to mention from the bedroom window we get a view of the farm land valley and the mountains right in front of us ,a good reason to get up every morning

How long do your freight trains get there in Australia? 1-2 miles long?

    • @FishplateFilms
      @FishplateFilms  7 днів тому +1

Hi Keith, the average length of the interstate intermodals is about 1.3 to 1.5 km. Of course the Iron Ore trains in the Pilbara are 3 times that length.
      Thanks for watchong.
      Gregg.
