Either they were great actors or I was a naïve young kid but I thought the whole show was real all the way up to when they were rescued, I thought I was watching the News that day. I only started thinking something was up when I started noticing that Gilligan never changed his shirt, never. I'm 60 now in 2019. It was the BEST.
Gilligan's island was broadcast before I knew about it. But my parents grew up watching this show. I was introduced to it by them. Such a great show. I have every episode on dvd along with the tv movie rescue from gilligan's island.
1 of my favorite shows. This was awesome seeing all of them together again. Its amazing how doing 1 TV show can make u an iconic superstar Legend. Bob Denver and Allan Hale were also in my other favorite show: the Andy Griffith show. I think Bob played Dud wash, Charlene darlings husband and Allan played Jeff pruit. Sherwood Schwartz was a genius. He went right from Gilligan's Island to The Brady Bunch. Another TV show I still watch to this very day
Bob Denver thought it was great that re runs of Gilligan Island we’re still running in 1988. Wonder what he would think about it still being shown today in 2019. What a great show. My son is 13 and he loves it.
Dawn Wells and Tina Louise are still with us at this writing. Wells, though uncredited in the first season, was and remains the only actor from _Gilligan's Island_ to receive residuals from the show's five decades in reruns, due to a contract renegotiation. Like many in Hollywood's biggest TV and movie hits from those days, the other actors got paid only once, when the shows originally aired. Sadly, a couple in the cast died not too long after this show was recorded in 1988 (Jim Backus in July of 1989, and Alan Hale, Jr., only months later in January of 1990).
For those GI islands interested here in 2019. Dawn Wells has a Facebook page who can follow which she updates semi regularly. In her posts she expresses a lot of gratitude for those who remember the series and her character fondly. Seems like a very sweet lady.
I have to give Tina Louise some credit. At least she appeared for the reunion before everyone began passing away no matter what her motivation was. We really can't say the same for Susan Dey who I don't believe reunited with the Partridge Family cast before they began passing away.
I always read that Tina resented having been typecast as Ginger, and she hated being associated with the series. I'm a little surprised she came to the reunion.
Wonderful reunion. Thank you for posting this. I still laugh at the show. Alan Hale Jr seems like such a sweet man. It would have been nice to meet him.
My memory, the second thing to go, recalls Gilligan’s Island on Friday night Television. It was on with Get Smart and Wild, Wild West. Years later, I went to college with Hope Schwartz, Sherwood’s daughter. I have some super 8 footage of her in my film. I was a Film Studies major at UCI.
This is the ultimate Gilligan's Island reunion, that I have *ever seen* and I have seen *many* ... But, the mere fact that all of them were present is *marvelous!* I wish that I had this video on a personal dvd. ♡

@@bobbys4327 I agree. At least they are not like the spoiled brats of Hollywierd today. Compare the work between then and now for a season. Some series in that time period, they were producing sometimes 32 to 38 episodes with very small salaries. In today's time, you are lucky to get 22, sometimes just 10 episodes with salaries in the high 6 to 7 figure salaries. And even then, they complain about how unfair the world treats them. Personally, I don't give 2 craps about present day Hollywierd and their complaining.
It's a damn shame the actors/actresses only got residuals for the first 2 years of reruns. It's no wonder a number of those actors and actresses ran into some tough financial times. Too bad they did not get the cash like the Star Trek crew got from all their conventions around the world

Alan Hale Jr was very proud of his role, and heard that even while he was in the hospital, he would visit other patients, to help them feel better. A gentle soul, he was.
Dawn Wells looks the same even til today, she was my favourite of the 2 but they were all great in their roles. Funny that the show almost didn't make it but now it's a classic & beyond. Sad that all are gone except for Marianne & Ginger. Poor Jim, an actor from way back well before Gilligan's Island. Most of these actors starred in great movies & shows before. They could never remake it , it would never be the same. I loved the episode where Gilligan found the radioactive vegetables & they all had side-effects, it was hilarious. Never make shows like this anymore.
This made me smile. I recall seeing Gilligans Island in colour for the first time in a television shop back in the early 70's. Up till then I didn't know Gilligan's shirt was red.
I wish Tina had embrace this from the beginning. Because it’s so loved. But I respect her for coming to this reunion. Because she didn’t have to. Good for you Tina - you are loved.
Natalie was actually much older than she admitted to at the time of the filming of the program. She also had her own beauty regimen, and it must have worked! I wonder if she ever shared it with anyone?
I’m actually shocked that with the popularity of the reruns for so many years, especially in the 1980s, that they didn’t bring the show back with the original cast. This was a blast to watch. Thank you.
@@bdh70 Is that a swipe against Tina for the thousandth time? If so at least Tina doesn't have to accept a gofundme donation because she was foolish with her money.

I know, we recently lost yet another Monkee, Mike 'Wool Hat, Nesmith passed away at 78. He is know as the Father of MTV. Micky Dolenz is the only Monkee left.

Loved watching Gilligan's Island, I would run home from school just so I wouldn't miss it. I was always hoping they would get rescued, but I'm glad that they didn't or the show would have been over l o l . Today I'm 59 yrs old and still love watching Gilligan's Island
Alan Hale Jr. was a very sweet guy! May they all be happy in heaven!
Mary Anne and Ginger are alive and well. Mary Anne's on MeTV promoting the show.
+excelsciors Don't you mean the skipper, "Jonas Grunby"? 21:40 (and then there was his little buddy, "Willie Gilligan" 8:55)
@@analogueandy8x10 $
Agree. Alan Hale Jr. (Skipper) was always likeable. Was my favorite out of all of them, ...even going back to childhood.
And Roy Hinkley the proffesor
Fond memories and makes my heart hurt to know most are no longer with us.
I'm 15 and I watch this show
And Fawlty Towers.
Its awesome huh?
Lol oh man.
one of the BEST shows ...could not wait to get home to watch it ...thank you!!
I already know that Bob Denver's pet turtle's real name is Walter.
Dawn Wells was freaking smoking 🔥hot
1 of my favorite shows. This was awesome seeing all of them together again. Its amazing how doing 1 TV show can make u an iconic superstar Legend. Bob Denver and Allan Hale were also in my other favorite show: the Andy Griffith show. I think Bob played Dud wash, Charlene darlings husband and Allan played Jeff pruit. Sherwood Schwartz was a genius. He went right from Gilligan's Island to The Brady Bunch. Another TV show I still watch to this very day
corymartin100, didn’t Bob Denver also play Maynard G. Krebs on “The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis”?
R.I.P.
Bob Denver (Gilligan)
Alan Hale Jr. (Skipper)
Natalie Schaffer (Mrs. Howell)
Jim Backus (Mr. Howell)
Russell Johnson (The Professor)
Sherwood Schwartz (creator & producer)
Larry Ovah I watched this show when I was little. Time has went fast!
Hard to believe only Dawn Wells and Tina Louise are left.
Steven Green Yes time has went too fast!
Yeah, they could call "Mary Ann's island" now, since Ginger won't have anything to do with it and everybody else is dead!
Amazing video. Shocked that after 5 years it still "only" has 500k views, since it really deserves 10 times that or more.
Amazing Grace!
Has more than a million now.
For those GI islands interested here in 2019. Dawn Wells has a Facebook page who can follow which she updates semi regularly. In her posts she expresses a lot of gratitude for those who remember the series and her character fondly. Seems like a very sweet lady.
Seeing Sherwood Schwartz was the icing on the cake. His mind knew this theme would entertain us, and knew these actors fit the roles like none else.
He understood farce. The cast was so great that they could have done the show on a small stage.
In these crazy times, it’s good to go back and see some memories. Chanel 44, Tampa in the 70’s at 4:00. Never missed a day. Thank you to all of them.
You very much I never thought I'd ever see all the actors on Gilligan's Island that was very very appreciated
The four goofballs singing the theme song were hilarious lol :-)
My memory, the second thing to go, recalls Gilligan’s Island on Friday night Television. It was on with Get Smart and Wild, Wild West.
Years later, I went to college with Hope Schwartz, Sherwood’s daughter.
I have some super 8 footage of her in my film. I was a Film Studies major at UCI.
This is the ultimate Gilligan's Island reunion, that I have *ever seen* and I have seen *many* ...
But, the mere fact that all of them were present is *marvelous!* I wish that I had this video on a personal dvd. ♡
Dawn wells is absolutely gorgeous
But not the brightest especially when it comes to money or else she wouldn't have to accept from gofundme.
@@Garsons-oq4lh you are like a stuck record
@@Garsons-oq4lh She wasn't the one who setup the gofundme account. People who desire to help her get out of debt is far more loving than you degrading her.
Dawn Wells was always my favorite.
Mary Ann is INCREDIBLY foxy.
@@Garsons-oq4lh You sound like a broken record. Who gives a damn, she was/is hot as hell....DEAL WITH IT!!!
Ginger was still pretty at that time, too. Old age hit her kind of hard, relatively speaking. Probably serious illness(es).
It's a damn shame the actors/actresses only got residuals for the first 2 years of reruns. It's no wonder a number of those actors and actresses ran into some tough financial times. Too bad they did not get the cash like the Star Trek crew got from all their conventions around the world
@@Garsons-oq4lh yup, you are certainly tina's dad
@@irishtexan899 the "Friends" cast are still raking in millions each year.
Watching during coronavirus...stay safe everyone.
Teary watching this, a kid when it ran originally and remember watching it in reruns during the 70s and 80s, glad it happened before cast members started passing away, only Dawn Wells and Tina Louise are still with us, unfortunately we will never see TV programs like this again, thankful for UA-cam that we as fans can go back and relive watching some of those wonderful TV shows from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s..
The Skipper looks SO happy!! Thats great!
Alan Hale Jr was very proud of his role, and heard that even while he was in the hospital, he would visit other patients, to help them feel better. A gentle soul, he was.
A jolly old man.
We all would like to be that happy all the time.
Lionel Richie was my favorite cast member
He died first, didn’t he?
Dawn Wells looks the same even til today, she was my favourite of the 2 but they were all great in their roles. Funny that the show almost didn't make it but now it's a classic & beyond. Sad that all are gone except for Marianne & Ginger. Poor Jim, an actor from way back well before Gilligan's Island. Most of these actors starred in great movies & shows before. They could never remake it , it would never be the same. I loved the episode where Gilligan found the radioactive vegetables & they all had side-effects, it was hilarious. Never make shows like this anymore.
Most of Natalie's clothes on the show were her own,..it was in her contract that she costume herself.
Thank you for sharing this!
I liked how skipper was the only one who would look at the camera and shake his head when Gillian did something stupid
That was a abbot thing
@@midnightrizer Laurel and Hardy
Ginger actually did that too, especially in the first season..
Everyone is commenting on how great Dawn Wells looks - and I totally agree - but am I the only one who noticed that Mrs. Howell looks the same ?
Yes. Odd really because she was by far the oldest of the seven and is at least 87 here.
Natalie was actually much older than she admitted to at the time of the filming of the program. She also had her own beauty regimen, and it must have worked! I wonder if she ever shared it with anyone?
Lovey Cravesit?
God Bless Gilligan's Island & all its cast . Dawn Wells is still stunning & absolutely adorable !
I swear they all looking good. :)
When TV was fun to watch.
I’m actually shocked that with the popularity of the reruns for so many years, especially in the 1980s, that they didn’t bring the show back with the original cast. This was a blast to watch. Thank you.
It feels like Mr. and Mrs. Howell are married in real life.
Now that you mention it, Mr. Mrs. Howell are one of the few tv couples that did not insult each other or try to make the other feel foolish.
Tina Louise and Dawn Wells are the only ones left. I feel so old.
And Tina Louise looks much older than you feel.
@@bdh70 Is that a swipe against Tina for the thousandth time? If so at least Tina doesn't have to accept a gofundme donation because she was foolish with her money.
The two young ones.

Love them. Sadly - Jim passed 1 year later, Alan passed a year and a half later, and Natalie passed 2 years later. 3 of them within 2 years of this reunion. Sad to see the loss but happy to share their lives on screen.
This was great to watch....Most of them have now passed on, but to see them all in one sitting and hear them speaking about their experiences with life and the show is wonderful.
Thanks to whoever for this video. It was nice seeing everyone.

I always preferred Ginger. But Mary Ann was cute, too.
@@michaelwainscott2633 This is the first time I've ever come across someone who preferred Ginger!
@Slomofogo Ha! Ginger's definitely Trump's favorite. (which is reason enough to impeach the guy.)
How in the hell did this thread get political?
@Slomofogo I'm confused. Are you calling me a narcistic twit, or the people to whom I was referring?
Watched every single episode. 😍❤️

So I'm scrolling through the comments and I notice there isn't one "thumbs down" but then again who could NOT like Gilligan's Island! I love this still today 💞
Alan Hale really was the Skipper. What great guy!!!!!

I think I have seen every show and still love watching it to this day. I use to watch it back in the 80’s. Its amazing all the clothes and perfumes they brought on a 3 hour boat ride. The batteries in radio sure did last a long time too.
