I believe we still do. You've seen the UA-cam videos where a guy orders 100 food items, the restaurant ask what he's gonna do with them, tells him he's going to hand them out to the homeless. Inevitably restaurant usually donates the food, it's handed out to the people who are all so appreciative and thank him. 10.15.2024 - The Andy Griffith Show is my absolute favorite show. I leave it playing day and night. I've been watching before bed every night for the last 13 years. I didn't have a daddy, not too good a one anyways, so God and Andy were my go-to for fatherly parenting. That question, what would Andy do? What a great show to have grown up with. ❤

This show wasn't just loved in the US and Canada, it was also beloved in Australia because Aussies understood the small town vibe of the show. I vividly remember watching the show with my parents as a little kid. We'd be in front of our Astor (local Aussie brand) 21" b/w tv just loving every minute of every episode. I think the reason why my family loved the show (and I suppose most families did) was because of the natural warmth the actors created. And yes, we laughed WITH the actors, not at them. Every night, at exactly at 7 and 7:30 pm , Monday-Friday I watch the Andy Griffith Show. It's a very relaxing show to watch. Very few shows on TV help me relax. I am a 58 year old single female that suffers from Anxiety and having to live alone doesn't help my Anxiety issues, but every night while watching the Andy Griffith show, even the repeats, really helps my Anxiety disappear and keeps me in a calm state of mind for the rest of the evening.
Anxiety sufferer here, also. The Andy Griffith Show has been my favorite and my valium of peace, serenity, and comedy, since I was a wee little lad. I feel like I live in another world where anxiety does not exist, when I watch it. I would do ANYTHING to be able to step into a portal, and be instantly transferred to Mayberry and that show be real life!
I was 4 years old when I started watching The Andy Griffith Show in 1967 my mother used to put me in a high chair and say you want me to put on the whistling show ,due to the show's intro in order for the show to get my attention and she would be able to feed me before sending me off to school to this day I still watch the show because it brings so much fond memories of the show and of my mother who has passed.
I watched this as a kid. I'm 55, my husband is 61. We watch it now on Pluto TV. It's the best!! It always had a lesson to learn, a moral to every episode. And it was good clean fun 😃❤️!!
I've watched every episode of The Andy Griffith Show at least 50 times and it never gets old. God Bless the show and its characters for making something truly special and enduring. 🍻 to the GREATEST TV show the world has ever known!
OK, which was your FAV episode joey? Or Top 10 maybe? I liked the hostage episode when Barney and Floyd are tied up in the cabin by 3 FEMALE CONvicts! I still L0L just thinking about it! Of course ol RELIABLE Andy RESCUES them from them butch MEANIES!
...My favorite is Mr.(sorry, name escapes me)... the pole ,tree climbing man that Opie tells Andy about and no one believes him...jingles when he walks, etc...Andy finally goes to the wooded area and meets him...
Opie was by far, THE cutest, must talented little kid!❤❤❤ I loved ALL of Opies episodes. One of my favorite episodes was when, Opie played a sore track loser.😊 One of my Barney favorites was when he tried to say the Preamble. 😂 I absolutely loved, when Andy sang and played the guitar.😊
Never get tired of watching these old reruns. They are still as funny now as they were then. Loved it when Otis called Aunt Bea's house "The Rock." Ernest T. Bass, The Darlin's, Gomer, Goober, Floyd and all the rest of the characters. I'm 70 now, but I feel young when I watch this show!
Same here Norman. I was born in 73. But I watched the show almost everyday. They played the reruns everyday. I can't believe Ron Howard is 70 years old. I was thinking 50 maybe. Time just flies. But what a great show that was.
I just lost my kitty named after Opie. He was 16. I loved this show. Even though I was not born when it first aired I saw it in syndication years later.
Same here. Been watching since I was a kid and am now 57. I like to have it running while Im doing things around the house, to keep me company. Warms up the home.
I use to HATE watching TV Land with my dad when I was a kid after he got off work. Because we only had one TV. Usually at 6-7 he would give me the remote to watch wrestling or whatever. But damn. As I got older watching TV Land and Nick at Night with him I can't help but cherish those moments and even love most of the shows I watched. They really helped me mature in lots of ways. I'm 31 but I feel 51 because of these amazing shows lol
Ron Howard and I are the same age. While each episode was new, as I watched, I’d didn’t even realize that we were little, together. As years have marched on, I’ve watched these episodes with my children and my grandchildren and tell each of them that I was that little too when we watch Opey. These shows were pivotal to watch with my Mom as I cared for her in her home while her life was ending four years ago. We laughed and reminisced about those simpler times in life in all the subject matters that were the heart of each show. Truly, the best of the best in each actor’s character and most of all, its theme song. I love that I still get to watch each evening. Happy 70th Birthday year, Ron Howard! Thank you for my childhood memories and for this Andy Griffith Show Reunion. RIP to those who’ve left us.
I'm 24 Years old, and I feel like I'm at home every time I watch The Andy Griffith Show, I was raised with parents and grandparents that had The Andy Griffith show on their TVs everyday, all day, I know I wasn't alive during the time my grandparents were growing up, but I will always feel like that I'm in the Andy Griffith show, My grandparents were just like Andy Taylor and they gave me advice just like Andy's. I had my own little Mayberry town growing up. I get teary eyed watching the Andy Griffith show.
Not one of...the absolute 100% best show there's ever been or will ever be! I've watched all my life... every episode...my 3 boys have grown up watching it and if I have my way so will my grandchildren! Love this show with all my heart! ✌️
I’m 70 and moved to the USA from Mex. when I was 8. This was my favorite show to watch. I wanted to live in a small town like Mayberry! Opie and Andy were my favorite actors.
I'm 72 yrs old & grew up in the south so this show mimicked real life for me as a kid. Maybe not the humor but the values & life's little lessons were the same. This truly was a wonderful time to grou up & there's never been a better show.
By far, the best show in the history of television. It was a comedy, a drama, and made the audience feel like they were part of Mayberry. It made of impact on every parent and child that watched the show. 😃😃
I’m 56, grew up in Austin,Texas in a Black neighborhood and this show reminds me of that place. The values and morals are timeless and good people are everywhere. Pray we are restored as good people and good neighbors in Jesus Name.
Thank you so ever much for keeping our history of tenderness with Mayberry Alive for us to still see. Those years have been truly blessed by the truth of it's production of The way life should be.
To this day I never get tired of this show. No matter what age, or stage of life I was in, I would keep this show on if I came across it. One of the streaming networks had it (possibly still does), and of course I watched it all over again. Now here I am in 2024 watching this special again.
I grew up watching this show, my children and grandchildren did also. I live in the small town in Northern Indiana I grew up in, and lovingly have told our mayor more than once "I like Mayberry just the way it is!" I enjoy sitting on my front porch swing and waving at folks I don't know walking their dogs or dads and sons playing catch. I wish the whole world still enjoyed a simple life where you know your neighbors and treat them like family and you can teach your children life's lessons and there's not much disrespect or evil. May God Bless our country and put a little bit of Mayberry in every city!
What a great show, so basic,so simple, just the way most of us escape the real world and wish we could live a Mayberry like life! Thanks to those still living and RIP to those who have passed on!
The episode about Opie killing a mother bird is still my favorite. It was so well written and a life lesson. It STILL makes me cry. That show's ending was and is one of the best they did. The one that came in at a close second for me was their only Christmas show.
Only a very few shows have endured in peoples lives like the Andy Griffith show has. Im soon to be 65 and Ive watched it ever since I can remember as a small child. I literally at times wish I had grown up in Mayberry especially in todays broken world. I still see it play on weekdays at seven PM and often find myself watching a favorite episode to take my mind off todays hot mess of a world. God bless Andy and the whole cast for the laughs and important morals and ethics they imparted on us in such an entertaining way. This show literally made me a better person in many ways when I would catch certain episodes that often had a life lesson that made one think and learn about whats really important in life.
Go to 9:43 - Ron and Andy sitting on a bench - the love and appreciation for each other demonstrated by their words, and facial expressions is so moving - check it out - it this was a scene in a movie you'd be moved to tears - how heart felt
I watched the Andy Griffith Show from the time I was a young child. Later on, my work was in Law Enforcement and though some may laugh, I remembered a lot of how 'Sheriff Taylor' did his job on the show and often dealt with the citizens in much the same as I thought he would have treated them. I never had complaints of excessive force made against me or such. I feel that the influence of his character on the show was part of the reason.
I love your comment and can't believe you don't have more replies. There is nothing silly about the way you do your job. I wish all officers thought this way.
Its 2023 and though the show is in black and white it simply transcends into modern day no matter what year it is. Makes me feel so warm, comforted and content to rewatch any of the AGS episodes. Something very special about this creation. I also only now realized Opie had a different, distinct accent than his dad.
i’m 26 and grew up with every episode of andy griffith seeing all these guys together knowing they’re gone except for ron, and seeing the commercials when they were actual commercials the nostalgia from both is a hard hit lol
The last scene where Barney describes Andy as the sheriff that goes by the heart made me tear up. We need shows like this so badly now!!! I grew up with it, I was 3 almost 4 when the show came on in October 1960. I still love seeing these shows in 2021!!! some 60 years!
I'm 46 and grew up on the ANDY GRIFFITH show. My parents did as well and so did both MY children (now 17 & 28). I feel like the characters were real people in my past. This was one of the BEST shows EVER made. They don't make shows like that anymore. I wish we all could live in Mayberry.
It took me a while to CONNECT the dots from Mt. Airy-Mayberry! Doh! I wonder if Andy named the town Mayberry or the producers, bcuz he is from Mt. Airy, IIRC? BTW, Helen Wheels lol was a FAV character on there for me! She was very pretty! Aneta Corsault. She reminds me of Miss Tuttle in Grade 4 when I was a lad! It's NEATO reminiscing... (=
@@mr.blackhawk142 Andy was born in Mt Airy`s but the real Mayberry he named the show after didn`t have anything to do with Mt Airys the people from Mt Airys did that just to cash in on some money and get visitors to the town.
This show taught life lessons that never get old. Man we could sure use more of this kind of tv
Don’t hold your breath.
When life was so much simpler… cherished memories
I watched this as a kid. I'm 55, my husband is 61. We watch it now on Pluto TV. It's the best!! It always had a lesson to learn, a moral to every episode. And it was good clean fun 😃❤️!!
Such a great show.
I'm 64 years old, and this is still my favorite show. The Andy Griffith Show represents such a wonderful time.
I've watched every episode of The Andy Griffith Show at least 50 times and it never gets old. God Bless the show and its characters for making something truly special and enduring. 🍻 to the GREATEST TV show the world has ever known!
Try 1000 x
OK, which was your FAV episode joey? Or Top 10 maybe? I liked the hostage episode when Barney and Floyd are tied up in the cabin by 3 FEMALE CONvicts! I still L0L just thinking about it! Of course ol RELIABLE Andy RESCUES them from them butch MEANIES!
...My favorite is Mr.(sorry, name escapes me)... the pole ,tree climbing man that Opie tells Andy about and no one believes him...jingles when he walks, etc...Andy finally goes to the wooded area and meets him...
...Mister. Mac beevy...I think was the name
R.I.P to this great man. grew up watching this with my stepdad. i still love it. they do not make shows like that anymore.. good old fashion values.
It’s crazy how time flies.
Look at these guys only Ron Howard is still living. Cherish your loved ones and tell your people you love them ❤️
Knotts died only 3 years after this and Andy 9 years. RIP.
WTF? We ALL die
I bet you're fun at parties 😂@@BAKER22-l4u
Thelma Lou is still alive Barneys Girlfriend
@@MrFloppy131 no she passed away a year or two ago. Sad news when I heard .
This is when TV was worth watching unlike today
Opie was by far, THE cutest, must talented little kid!❤❤❤
I loved ALL of Opies episodes.
One of my favorite episodes was when, Opie played a sore track loser.😊
One of my Barney favorites was when he tried to say the Preamble. 😂
I absolutely loved, when Andy sang and played the guitar.😊
Yep and he's still super cute in this movie
This show and it's reruns were part of everyone's childhood. RIP Andy, Francis, Don, Jim and George.
Lol..WTF?
@@BAKER22-l4u loL..FTW?
I didn't know that Floyd died in 1969, just 2 years after TAGS did in 1967! I named my cat after him! He's laying next to me as I type this!
Its 2024 and I still enjoy The Andy Griffith show just as much as I did back when I was a young kid in the early 70's.
Some things just never get old and this show is one of those things.❤❤
Ron Howard is 70. Mayberry aired my birth year. How life zooms by.😢
Same here Norman. I was born in 73. But I watched the show almost everyday. They played the reruns everyday. I can't believe Ron Howard is 70 years old. I was thinking 50 maybe. Time just flies. But what a great show that was.
@@wilmabaker4500 You GOT it wilma!
@@tomjones5650 Richie Cunningham is only ONE year younger than...MOI.? RON HOWARD was/IS a genuine nice guy!
I'm 30 years old I discovered this show in 2023 im grateful even though late that i got to watch this gem
It is certainly a great escape to go back to a simpler time. What a treasure
The Andy Griffith Show is the best show in television history. I watch it every day and will continue to watch it until i'm gone.
I just lost my kitty named after Opie. He was 16. I loved this show. Even though I was not born when it first aired I saw it in syndication years later.
Same here. Been watching since I was a kid and am now 57. I like to have it running while Im doing things around the house, to keep me company. Warms up the home.
👍🏽
What a testimony for Hollywood producers to pick up on! There are MILLIONS of us who agree too jasonq703!
I just loved it when andy told Ron he was very proud of him that brings up some emotions.
I am almost 60 and this show was definitely part of my life! It was amazing! Thanks for the recap!
I was raised watching Andy Griffith show. Then as an adult, I watched the reruns. I enjoyed it so much.
Loved the show and at 70 still love it.
I'm 72 yrs old & grew up in the south so this show mimicked real life for me as a kid. Maybe not the humor but the values & life's little lessons were the same. This truly was a wonderful time to grou up & there's never been a better show.
I’m 44 years old. Born in 1980. I still watch this show at least weekly, if not every other night. My favorite show… by far!
Loved Andy Griffith I watched has a child and still watch it today
By far, the best show in the history of television. It was a comedy, a drama, and made the audience feel like they were part of Mayberry. It made of impact on every parent and child that watched the show. 😃😃
By far the most IDIOTIC and IGNORANT thing I've EVER heard
Im 39,i grew up on this show, watching with my grandfather and father..its not just a show, its a memory.
God Bless Them All and R.I.P. to The Cast who Passed away and the guest stars 🙏🙏
The absolute greatest show ever. We sure could use some Andy Griffith now.
I’m 56, grew up in Austin,Texas in a Black neighborhood and this show reminds me of that place. The values and morals are timeless and good people are everywhere. Pray we are restored as good people and good neighbors in Jesus Name.

Yes what a show. I know I will never forget it. Those were the days. Sad to say we will never see times like those again😕😥😒☹

RIP to all that have passed. Great show. Im glad they got together
So refreshing to see! Back when things on tv were good! funny
WTF is WRONG with you?
Same. The funny thing is, I'll get sick of watching some reruns and not watch them for years, but I never tire of watching this show for some reason.
@@crashburn3292 It STRIKES a chord on our HEART-strings doesn't it CB3292?
I grew up watching this show, my children and grandchildren did also.
I live in the small town in Northern Indiana I grew up in, and lovingly have told our mayor more than once "I like Mayberry just the way it is!"
I enjoy sitting on my front porch swing and waving at folks I don't know walking their dogs or dads and sons playing catch.
I wish the whole world still enjoyed a simple life where you know your neighbors and treat them like family and you can teach your children life's lessons and there's not much disrespect or evil.
May God Bless our
country and put a little bit of Mayberry in every city!
One of the best shows ever. Love Andy Griffith show. Sad they don't make shows like this anymore, and sad most of the cast is gone.
But the show and its stories live on, to teach and nurture anyone who watches, at any age and any stage of life...what a wonderful legacy!! 🥲👍❤🫂

What a great show, so basic,so simple, just the way most of us escape the real world and wish we could live a Mayberry like life! Thanks to those still living and RIP to those who have passed on!
I'm 64 and I grew up with Andy and Barney. Thank you for putting it on.
I loved the Andy Griffith show. They had a lot of great actors a lot of great musicians and great music. 💕
Thank you for your service! That's Good to hear from you. We need what Barney applauds Andy for, treating the Heart.
GOD Bless you!
I wish the cop who pulled me over recently for “talking on my phone” (I don’t even own a cell phone) thought the same way.
I love your comment and can't believe you don't have more replies. There is nothing silly about the way you do your job. I wish all officers thought this way.
I love this. Thank you for your service.
If you handled people Alot like Andy then there is no doubt your a great police officer!! Thank you for your service!
Wonderful show; full of value and morals.
Its 2023 and though the show is in black and white it simply transcends into modern day no matter what year it is.
Makes me feel so warm, comforted and content to rewatch any of the AGS episodes. Something very special about this creation.
I also only now realized Opie had a different, distinct accent than his dad.
It's still funny today too. There is something timeless about this show.
i’m 26 and grew up with every episode of andy griffith seeing all these guys together knowing they’re gone except for ron, and seeing the commercials when they were actual commercials the nostalgia from both is a hard hit lol
One of the best shows ever. I miss days like that. Thank you ladies and gents and to all involved for that big slice of Americana
I just got back from a trip to Mt. Airy, NC aka the "real Mayberry". I would recommend every fan of Andy and the show to go if possible.
The last scene where Barney describes Andy as the sheriff that goes by the heart made me tear up. We need shows like this so badly now!!! I grew up with it, I was 3 almost 4 when the show came on in October 1960. I still love seeing these shows in 2021!!! some 60 years!
The show had memorable characters, but the storylines were excellent. Can't forget those favorite episodes. I can't pick just one.
The original Set is long gone in CA
this show just makes you feel better,,a simpler time in life
Best show ever. Still watch every day.
Arguably the DUMBEST and MOST IDIOTIC thing I've EVER heard
Andy was always good about plugging the writers, the make up artist and others in his interviews over the years, class act.
Andy Griffith was a national treasure but he was particularly loved here in his beloved North Carolina.
Yup! You must be proud to have had the MAIN MAN in your own back yard!

I love this!!! I'm currently in Mayberry, NC (Mount Airy) and I feel the sense of closeness in this town.
