Love that you guys work on real world situation cars. Makes the videos so much more relatable. What kind of long locking pliers are those

Pipe wrench works great to break free inner tie rod ends.. everyone has a pipe wrench!

I've used 1A on multiple occasions. The parts have so far been excellent, no fitment issues and keenly priced. Our mechanic presenter here did a fabulous job: skill, diligence and quick witted also!

For those that doesn’t have the tool for removing the inner tie, I used a vise grips and it worked just fine

Informative and entertaining. I loved the check if it's hot joke after he blasted the bolt w/ the torch. Taught me enough to maybe have my mechanics do this but at least I know what to look for. Thanks a bunch!

Instead of using the tool to break the tie rods loose I used a pipe wrench, worked perfect

Excellent video except one glaring ommittance - alignment discussion.

  • @AntoninJezek

I should have seen the full 8 piece kit for suspension and steering from 1A auto. I had an alignment for today, but could get it done because of a ball joint. I already changed both outer tie rods, so with the ball joint, I ended up paying the same amount I would have if I got the full 8 piece kit.

The inner tie rod should have rectangular cross section in some part so alignment can be done later. No need for the friction vice grips. The inner tie rod was spinning free and this is why the nut would have never come off.

On mine the bolt is closer to the inner tie rod so it looks like the bellows boot on the inner tie rod has a lot more room to just slide up .

What's the purpose of having an inner and outer tie rod? Why don't they make it all in 1 piece so you don't have so many bolts to take off?
