Isabella Mhm, we have a wolf dog who was abused and at first when we rescued him he bit, scratched, barked, but me and him bonded. He only hated other people but he loved me. I trained him at first with food and treats and he eventually warmed up to me and my family. Now he’s a sweetheart

I love reading stories like yours because not a lot of people(at least people I know of) get rescue dogs, they all buy dogs from shops because they like a certain breed. Also how old is your dog? :) I have a dog and he's 6 years old, he was given to us by my dad's friend who has sadly passed away.

My dad adopted a dog for my brother when we were kids. He named the dog Sarge, then lost all interest in him and he ended up in the backyard for a looooonng time. Eventually I had an encounter with Sarge and something clicked between us. I started training him and he became a happy, obedient, indoor dog. My brother then started taking interest in him again but Sarge only had eyes for me. He lived to be 12 years old and he was my best friend.

Exactly. Like, I refer to my family's dog by his name most of the time, you only really need to use "the dog" in situations like asking where the dog is/went/etc.
When me and my family take family photos or do family things we include our puppy because she Is apart of our family no matter how bad she is she will always be apart of our family. I just wish other people could do the same or at least do something

I've seen people like that warm up to a dog and form a personal connection and take even better care of the dog then others who are "nice." Animals are incredible at teaching people things one never would have thought they would learn. But the dog's wellbeing must come first, which is what Victoria brings into households. I love what she does.

Apparently there is. She had another dog owner take the food from her dog to train him to not be hand fed. The trainer said dogs go days without food in the wild so she doesn't have a problem with it when she's the one instigating it.
Nay Nay Well that’s a completely different situation and you know it. Victoria was training the dog to feed itself rather than demanding to be hand-fed, and she’s 100% right - she didn’t say don’t feed the dog at all, she said leave the food down for a set period (either 20 minutes or 1 hour, I don’t recall) and if the dog chooses not to eat it in that time period, then take away the food and wait until the next scheduled feeding time to set out fresh food. Victoria tends to feed dogs a mix of wet and dry food or she’ll add a bit of gravy or rice, so there’s a reason you don’t want to leave food out for too long. Also she’s very big on strict feeding schedules because it helps tremendously with getting the dogs house-trained.
@@pinkmonkeybird2644 It is a different situation but the fact that dogs naturally go without food for days was my point. The dog in this video wasn't emaciated so she was eating enough, just not regularly, which is how it would be in the wild.
Nay Nay Fair enough. You are correct, the dog didn’t look massively underfed and dogs in the wild aren’t exactly picky about whether their food is pristine.
You’re right, if you’re training them that’s another story. It’s a lot like letting a kid skip Dinner if they complain about their food. But Victoria said they were going DAYS on end without eating. And the food that was out was old and probably inedible. There are automatic feeders, and their house is pretty damn nice so they can probably hire someone to feed their dog if they’re really that lazy. Idiots like this family really grind my gears.

I'm honestly impressed with Joe's transformation once he started training with Snooki- you could see him smiling, being more interested, and I dont think the family environment could've motivated. I hope Snooki has provided him much needed motivation, and affection/ bonding that clearly lacks in that family
I think the dad was made worst than he actually is in the editing. The mom and Michael were the ones who got the dog in the first place, but the dad and Joey took care of him after she left. I bet the dad was frustrated with his family, but actually liked the dog.
After seeing the nose work training, it looks there was just such a spark of joy in his eyes, like his life has nee meaning... all over seeing something as simple as his dog learning to do a task at his command. The whole family suffers from laziness, but it's like he quickly saw the real beauty of Snooki and set out to care for her much better.
Yes, i also found it strange. They don't really want the dog, this could have been an "opportunity" to get the dog out of their lives. But i hope that the older brother will continue working with the dog. She seems to be a smart, affectionate dog and deserves the best.

So he clearly trained the dog in the time that wasnt on TV. I understand your point so I think the best thing would be to watch the family a little longer and see if they still care for the dog and take him away if not.. But at least give the young one a chance to change?

Right! Poor puppy! My roomate moved in with a Golden Retriever. I love my lab and miss her greatly. And she was LOYAL! This Retriever, (almost to the point of sometimes overwhelming nevertheless is THE MOST LOYAL DOG i believe i will ever have. (And not even mine. Well she kind of is. Her daddy works alot) They just want a bit of attention. She loves me. Retrievers LOVE you! Probably beyond the measure of ANY human! All they want is food. To go potty. Some toys. And love! Get this dog some toys since these humans lack in activity. Dakota is happy chewing on a rawhide bone for 30+ minutes. She just wants to be in the room with SOMEONE. They don't like being alone. Im sad for this Retriever. So many people in that home, and the dog is a nuisance. Im sorry for the negativity but this family is a major nuisance for this dog! 😨😦

I think that statement snapped it into his head that he loves the dog. He didn't want a dog from the start but the family went behind his back, that probably made him bitter, but he didn't know that the dog grew on him.

Of course I can't kno 100% how it is since I have a cat but I would never forget to feed him. Maybe I will sometimes be late with his 3 PM meal but that is mostly when he's sleeping and I let him wake up on his own and then give him his food or if I'm not home yet but will be home before 4 PM And I even apologized to my cat when he pooped in the hour that he was in his carrier when I got him and the only "punishment" he's ever had for dragging his poop into the other rooms was me wiping his butt so it wasn't in his fur anymore. Everything else is just cruel and there is no bad dogs or cats, just untrained and/or distressed pets. I love seeing this show and cats from hell but it hurts my heart every time I see these people neglect their animals
I was so angry! They have the most beautiful dog, my dream dog which I can't afford to buy! And then the dad said a dog's place is outside on a chain🤬 I could just scream! Golden retrievers are gorgeous, loving, intelligent and sensitive dogs! They're place is in the house in their own warm dog bed with plenty of food, water, training and playing and cuddles.
Victoria is really such a caring person and wants people to understand how to interact with their dogs in a healthy way. You can tell she loves dogs. I wanna be her when I grow up.
She may be weak from lack of food and poor nutrition too. I feel almost violent toward these people! That man hanging poor Snookie up by her collar and choking her! Yeah, at the end it shows all good and all, but I wish they would check up the dogs again like 6 months or a year later too. Because its always cool at the beginning but its super easy to go back to old habits. And Snookie is clearly a very sweet dog and she deserve a family that loves her and treats her well. A family that have her because they want to, not because they are too proud to admit they are not qualified or responsible enough to have a dog.
Really have to appreciate the older son for sticking with training, and really starting to appreciate Snooki. She looked like a new dog at the end of the video

They kept calling her ‘the dog’ instead of her name and I feel like that’s really telling. Edit: this situation is clearly different than most. It’s their actions combined with how they talk. There is no reason to be defensive and explain how you love your pet even though you sometimes talk about them the way this family always does
I don't think so. I call my cat "the cat" about half the time doesn't mean I love him any less and my dad would call our cocker spaniel who lived to 10 years the dog or she by accident all the time . You can't really judge someone on words alone. Joey and the dad did care they just didn't know how to show it. ALSO we got our puppy on mums wish going against dad's preference too xD I feel sorry for parents but he did come around and misses how now :)

It's true he never wanted the dog but when someone is giving him an out and offering to take the dog , he doesn't take it. And he even says "no one is getting rid of the dog unless I say so, I have final say". That is some red flag control issues right there. And he says just about everything at a yell, and this is infront of cameras. He was even dragging the dog around by the collar, practically straggling her at 0:38. I agree with Velvet, he is probably abusive.
Poor Snooki. She deserves so much better, but hey, at least someone seems to be interested in giving her attention now and training her... so that's better than nothing.

Victoria’s early episodes shaped who I was as a dog owner. Such a happier place to be than Alpha training that a certain American tv personality promoted. I have a BC, German, and a Husky. And we are the happiest, quiet and chill pack you’d ever meet.

@mario cast It's good that you take care of your dog. Mentioning that before would have helped. Yes, it's really the responsibility of the person who got the dog to care for it, I agree. However, if they aren't doing it, the others of the house should ensure its health and safety until they either give the dog up or the owner starts taking responsibility for it.
Literally every dog training program. Very rarely the problem is the dogs personality. The dogs behaviour usually comes from the people not knowing what the hell they are doing. In this case that’s also true for the kids in this family.
Golden Retriever dogs are one of the nicest dog breeds so me hearing that the sweetest dog breed is being mistreated by the family and she still loves them breaks my heart.

My dad adopted a dog for my brother when we were kids. He named the dog Sarge, then lost all interest in him and he ended up in the backyard for a looooonng time. Eventually I had an encounter with Sarge and something clicked between us. I started training him and he became a happy, obedient, indoor dog. My brother then started taking interest in him again but Sarge only had eyes for me. He lived to be 12 years old and he was my best friend.

I've seen people like that warm up to a dog and form a personal connection and take even better care of the dog then others who are "nice." Animals are incredible at teaching people things one never would have thought they would learn. But the dog's wellbeing must come first, which is what Victoria brings into households. I love what she does.

Apparently there is. She had another dog owner take the food from her dog to train him to not be hand fed. The trainer said dogs go days without food in the wild so she doesn't have a problem with it when she's the one instigating it.
Nay Nay Well that’s a completely different situation and you know it. Victoria was training the dog to feed itself rather than demanding to be hand-fed, and she’s 100% right - she didn’t say don’t feed the dog at all, she said leave the food down for a set period (either 20 minutes or 1 hour, I don’t recall) and if the dog chooses not to eat it in that time period, then take away the food and wait until the next scheduled feeding time to set out fresh food. Victoria tends to feed dogs a mix of wet and dry food or she’ll add a bit of gravy or rice, so there’s a reason you don’t want to leave food out for too long. Also she’s very big on strict feeding schedules because it helps tremendously with getting the dogs house-trained.

There are automatic feeders, and their house is pretty damn nice so they can probably hire someone to feed their dog if they’re really that lazy. Idiots like this family really grind my gears.

I'm honestly impressed with Joe's transformation once he started training with Snooki- you could see him smiling, being more interested, and I dont think the family environment could've motivated. After seeing the nose work training, it looks there was just such a spark of joy in his eyes, like his life has nee meaning... all over seeing something as simple as his dog learning to do a task at his command. The whole family suffers from laziness, but it's like he quickly saw the real beauty of Snooki and set out to care for her much better.

Her daddy works alot) They just want a bit of attention. She loves me. Retrievers LOVE you! Probably beyond the measure of ANY human! All they want is food. To go potty. Some toys. And love!
Get this dog some toys since these humans lack in activity. Dakota is happy chewing on a rawhide bone for 30+ minutes. She just wants to be in the room with SOMEONE. They don't like being alone.

Of course I can't kno 100% how it is since I have a cat but I would never forget to feed him. Maybe I will sometimes be late with his 3 PM meal but that is mostly when he's sleeping and I let him wake up on his own and then give him his food or if I'm not home yet but will be home before 4 PM
And I even apologized to my cat when he pooped in the hour that he was in his carrier when I got him and the only "punishment" he's ever had for dragging his poop into the other rooms was me wiping his butt so it wasn't in his fur anymore.
Everything else is just cruel and there is no bad dogs or cats, just untrained and/or distressed pets. I love seeing this show and cats from hell but it hurts my heart every time I see these people neglect their animals

It's true he never wanted the dog but when someone is giving him an out and offering to take the dog , he doesn't take it. And he even says "no one is getting rid of the dog unless I say so, I have final say". That is some red flag control issues right there. And he says just about everything at a yell, and this is infront of cameras. He was even dragging the dog around by the collar, practically straggling her at 0:38. I agree with Velvet, he is probably abusive.
Poor Snooki. She deserves so much better, but hey, at least someone seems to be interested in giving her attention now and training her... so that's better than nothing.

Victoria’s early episodes shaped who I was as a dog owner. Such a happier place to be than Alpha training that a certain American tv personality promoted. I have a BC, German, and a Husky. And we are the happiest, quiet and chill pack you’d ever meet.
Honestly I'm surprised the dog was even left in that home. Seeing him grabbing that poor animal by the collar, the whole thing just makes me feel sick. Don't even want to think about what it's been through behind closed doors

@mario cast It's good that you take care of your dog. Mentioning that before would have helped. Yes, it's really the responsibility of the person who got the dog to care for it, I agree. However, if they aren't doing it, the others of the house should ensure its health and safety until they either give the dog up or the owner starts taking responsibility for it.

Literally every dog training program. Very rarely the problem is the dogs personality. The dogs behaviour usually comes from the people not knowing what the hell they are doing. In this case that’s also true for the kids in this family.

Golden Retriever dogs are one of the nicest dog breeds so me hearing that the sweetest dog breed is being mistreated by the family and she still loves them breaks my heart.
