I hope Roky heard this cover.
I didn't have Ghost. And, then, I did. Suddenly, found myself with everything. Invaluable.
His movements, especially hands, head & neck, are fluid and graceful. A true artist who sings with his entire body. Beautiful!
It's even more wonderful and magical when you know he's doing it all in a literal mask, yet his voice is so clear.

His voice took my paranoia and anixety away and I have friends now and a job. After finding ghost I truly have everything
I'm using my husband's account but this man is a genius... intelligent and charismatic enough to be more than one person. We are all many people many versions of what we can become... everyone has a deep dark side and a funny side and an emotional side... he is all of these people and happy being so. We can all learn a lesson from tobias... we all have ghosts. Well done with going forward keep going mate
Right on brother. That Gives me hope. Cause i have Ghost also, so I guess i have everything.
Nah bro. You did that. His voice just helped. Give yourself the credit you deserve.
Music is an art form that goes through the ears and touches the heart
@@allanarmstrong697 this song by ghost, is a cover of an older song by originally Rory Erikson.
I'm a 56 year old veteran of the hair band wars. A writer, musician, engineer and hard rock lover. I haven't loved a band since the early 90's but after decades of shrugging my shoulders whenever I heard new heavy music I've found Ghost. While i love the theatrics the music transcends all of that. Thank you, Ghost. My faith in rock and roll is restored.
I'm 47 and I know exactly what you mean. One of the few rock bands that do anything for me apart from the old bands.
53 and so totally agree with you.
Ghost is the best band of this generation, they are fantastic!!!

+Rafael Correia true. LOL
+Rafael Correia Exist this concert full ?
Nope. There is another version (in another place) but with only three songs.
+Rafael Correia Thanks
We need a full unplugged album
I can't help but keep coming back to this version, it's so raw, crisp, and beautiful!
If you have acoustic versions of Ghost songs, you have everything ❤
This recording really showcases how beautiful his voice is when he chooses to use it that way. (Other times he goes for different vocal sounds, always perfectly chosen to fit the song-he's so flexible it's hard to believe it's the same singer sometimes.) It's ironic that for their first demo he saw himself as a filler vocalist until a "real" singer could be found.
A real singer? He's a great singer, listen to the dynamics in this. Soft, edgy, louder, everything.
He takes my breath in this performance. It is just so lovely. Something inside enables him to break down walls in people’s hearts and minds and give hope and comfort to those in pain. It’s like balm for the soul. It’s remarkable that he exudes such peace. What a gift he has, and how lucky we are that he gives so much of himself to us, for you know it is probably very complicated inside his head. Creative genius probably isn’t always comfortable to live with.
1:37 - what a fucking voice.
+Mackanvafan yeah, you noticed, all the band want to put on stage this epic voice, all the music is here to shred the light on the clear rock and epic voice of papa emeritus.
+Mackanvafan Chills every time I hear that note!
+Mackanvafan Notice the little howl in the background... what is that?
He started like Liam Gallagher when stands at the mic...😝
+Alicia The Companion Robot
Might be the natural reverb in the room they're playing in.
Smaller rooms tend make instruments, vocals, and loud sounds in general give a natural echo.
And the man did not want to be the singer of the band... He's one of the best of this era!!!

The fact that his voice is so calm but so strong at the same time
Forget the whole act they have, these guys are really legit musicians. That are unique in their style of playing music. And this cover is excellent.
Lone BrightRaven Love his voice and the guitarists are simply sublime. Can't listen enough to #Prequelle.
The act doesnt take anything away from their performances tho, so why forget about it? Their style, clothing, masks, movements and attitude are all to add to the music.
While you're right the act does only add to everything, a lot of people would be turned off by it. They'd most likely look at the band before listening to them and assume from their look that they're just some gimmicky band and not worth listening to.
@@deeingalaplike well he is now anyway - Forge pretty much played all the instruments for the studio albums (save some of the drums and solos).....so Ghost is mostly a Forge solo project in costume

For the uninitiated: Rocky Erickson is a highly unstable schizophrenic as, during his time in the 13th Floor Elevators - he took every hallucinogen under the sun and it brought out his predisposition to mental illness ten fold and he spent the next 20 years escaping from one mental institution to the next before being released and making music(my friend saw him a few months before he passed.) Now, back to Ghost: I find it unbelievably touching that Papa can invest so much emotion into lyrics that are essentially a bunch of gobbledygook/non sequitors. He really resurrects this song and it hits the hard hearts of young cynical fools like myself and clangs rhythm back into them! Thanks Rock, thank you Ghost for your contribution to music and the betterment of my life!
Also he involuntarily received electroconvulsive therapy.
The electro-shock therapy he underwent in lieu of prison time for possession didn't help his mental disposition
@@MrJimbroski23oh, no doubt. Same with Hemingway and other unwarranted casualties!
It saddens me to know that the only actual video footage of the sterling example of an intrepid, towering and intimating man that is Earnest Hemingway entails a stupefied husk of the guy following a gratuitous array of electroshock sessions that left him so utterly brain-drained that he could barely read the teleprompter and obviously couldnt even comprehend what he was saying(he was repeating sentences nonsensically, looking around in a confused daze and tripping over his own enunciations!
Like with Truman Capote or Ollie Reid being brought on talk shows just so they could make a drunk public spectacle for views; total exploitation...
But I digress...
@@ambassadortothenetherworld9433 I met him once to get an autograph at Lollapalooza. It was very sad. He was so out of it. It was even more sad when it seemed, to me, that his son dragged him on a tour about a year and a half before he died to make one last bit of cash using his father's name.(At Lollapalooza...performing Roky seemed fine. That last show that I saw though...I had to leave because it was so sad.)

The Emeritus brothers has a long history of feuding with Juan, mostly because they were pissed that he held the most employe of the month Awards. They finally bet him though when they convinced the Sister to appoint Copia, who held the second most Awards, as their new successor. Their father never discovered that it was their doing, wich would have meant great shame not only to him, but his father, his father's father, his father's father's father and HIS father! Juan still works in the ministry post office, struggling to feed a wife and seven Children, while Copia gloriously tours the Americas...

+Epictemptation7 Perfect definition.
Lol love it bro
+Epictemptation7 SO right !! Can't wait to see 'em in December..
+Epictemptation7 I agree for the most part. Although I have to point out a little something that's been bugging me with this version. The SOLO. The notes twang like mad and it just sounds nasty. It's kind of sad, since those guitars were made by Gibson. You'd think fret-leveling would be part of the manufacturing process before shipping them out.
I'm sure a qualified luthier could've had those frets leveled for cheap so the notes would play clean without buzzing against the higher frets.
+theletterB the Guitars on this version of the song are tuned down a whole note, which leads the string tentioned to be lowered quite a bit. Therefore, som notes become very "buzzy". Sadly its almost impossible to get rid off on any guitar :/
This performance is nearly flawless, exceptional. Everyone should hear it.
Never judge a book by its cover. I’m so in love with this band. Thank you Ghost. 🖤

Ghost's rendition of this song, especially acoustic, emotionally overwhelms me. I feel deep sadness, yet comfort and completion at the same time. I cried the first time I heard this live.

Tobias is the main songwriter writer. He has help, but Ghost is mostly Tobias. Opus was all written by Tobias.

I freaking love this man.
I just watched the interview at The Lounge with Walt and he is a master showman. I can't believe that is the same person, though I know it is. He is so quiet and soft spoken in person. I was mesmerized. And a tad smitten with the man behind the mask I have to admit....
This song helped me out of a very dark place. A place I cannot even begin to describe. It’s amazing to read all the comments of many who have experienced the same. I have since listened to everything this band has put out and I’m digging all of it. If you have Ghost, you have everything.
Same here and I wonder if Roky had any idea how many people he helped with this song. Tobias took his raw, relatable lyrics and slowed it from its original frenetic pitch to a tamer but no less heart-tugging tempo which anyone can listen to and feel all of Roky's original meaning so deeply.
The softness of his voice at the beginning really caught my attention it was so beautiful
Just fantastic, at 3:11 he sounds like violins.

The should be required to perform this song at each one of their live shows! Absolutely brilliant.
I think this video alone puts Tobias on the same level as some widely praised singers, like Corey Taylor. Same degree of control and expressivity. And on top of that he's singing through a mask. Impressive.
Even when his voice cracked.. perfection
Nothing but talented musicians!! Love this song 🎵.
This session is so good. These videos sold me on Ghost and the more I searched out the music the deeper my @thebandGhost obsession became. I’m a relatively new devotee but I’m freaking smitten. It’s been YEARS since new music has really made a connection. There have been a few musicians since the early 90’s that I’ve loved but this is something different. There was a void where music should have been and Ghost has filled it in a big way. I’m kind of glad I found them years after they started because there is so much material to delve in to!! There is something magical in this music and the voice of Tobias Forge. Spellbound. I hope there are many more years and transitions of Ghost.
