The fact that his voice is so calm but so strong at the same time
I'm a 56 year old veteran of the hair band wars. A writer, musician, engineer and hard rock lover. I haven't loved a band since the early 90's but after decades of shrugging my shoulders whenever I heard new heavy music I've found Ghost. While i love the theatrics the music transcends all of that. Thank you, Ghost. My faith in rock and roll is restored.
I'm 47 and I know exactly what you mean. One of the few rock bands that do anything for me apart from the old bands.
53 and so totally agree with you.
Ghost is the best band of this generation, they are fantastic!!!
51 here, I can feel you!
Numb Official I’m 46 and seen em twice with my girlfriend!! They rock!
I keep coming back to these acoustic versions and am never disappointed....I miss Papa III..
They need to do an acoustic album... I would buy it!
Me too... A totally different character.
Papa Accousticus I would be a good name haha
The best papa
Me too, such an elegant man.
These guitars - this voice - this feeling - omg heaven

The acoustic version of this is literally everything.
You, my dear, are gorgeous...how about we attend the next ritual together? You in?😘
Great comment. it is everything. if you have ghosts the possibilities are endless.
I hope Roky heard this cover.
You have Ghosts
Wait till you see the Rite here Rite now version 👌
Im here after crying for this version in Rite Here Rite Now, I will never forget that experience
Me too!!! His speech and the song. I was a mess.
I was at the concert. It was a beautiful live performance, and it was incredible to have experienced it in person and again in Rite Here, Rite Now!
It was very beautiful!

They're really good for that. Been sinking pretty low for a while here and Ghosts really helps lift and feed the soul. Hope you're all doing well
Cheer up fuckers!
His voice took my paranoia and anixety away and I have friends now and a job. After finding ghost I truly have everything
I'm using my husband's account but this man is a genius... intelligent and charismatic enough to be more than one person. We are all many people many versions of what we can become... everyone has a deep dark side and a funny side and an emotional side... he is all of these people and happy being so. We can all learn a lesson from tobias... we all have ghosts. Well done with going forward keep going mate

@@joshuasbandit It was sort of an open secret among some people in the business, and some astute fans had figured it out. But they were all kind enough to play along with the "secret identity" angle until it was forced into the open, probably at least partly because it was so much fun. I remember those days, and it *was* fun.
Forget the whole act they have, these guys are really legit musicians. That are unique in their style of playing music. And this cover is excellent.
Lone BrightRaven Love his voice and the guitarists are simply sublime. Can't listen enough to #Prequelle.
The act doesnt take anything away from their performances tho, so why forget about it? Their style, clothing, masks, movements and attitude are all to add to the music.
While you're right the act does only add to everything, a lot of people would be turned off by it. They'd most likely look at the band before listening to them and assume from their look that they're just some gimmicky band and not worth listening to.
@@deeingalaplike well he is now anyway - Forge pretty much played all the instruments for the studio albums (save some of the drums and solos).....so Ghost is mostly a Forge solo project in costume

Same, it's a shame we missed Terzo era :/
I discovered them during the Infestissumam tour. Been watching them and loving them ever since
@@nichtslytherin9424 It is a shame you missed the Meliora era - it was a different lineup and a different feel, and they rocked out hard! Not that I don't love the current lineup - I think adding the Ghoulettes was a genius move - but if I could bring back one OG, I'd bring Martin Persner back into the band. I know he's happy doing MCC now, but damn, Omega kicked ass onstage!
He takes my breath in this performance. It is just so lovely. Something inside enables him to break down walls in people’s hearts and minds and give hope and comfort to those in pain. It’s like balm for the soul. It’s remarkable that he exudes such peace. What a gift he has, and how lucky we are that he gives so much of himself to us, for you know it is probably very complicated inside his head. Creative genius probably isn’t always comfortable to live with.

It's fucking beautiful man. Wow.
I love to think how young he was here and his voice sounds so mature since the beginning of Ghost, he sounds like so much older man. I've been a Ghost fan since 2017
The moment you hear Ghost live, i mean irl live, is the moment you start to admire it's music even more. There are really not much bands which not only won't ruin your dreams but also sounds live way better than on released tracks, and Ghost defenitely belongs to them.
For the uninitiated: Rocky Erickson is a highly unstable schizophrenic as, during his time in the 13th Floor Elevators - he took every hallucinogen under the sun and it brought out his predisposition to mental illness ten fold and he spent the next 20 years escaping from one mental institution to the next before being released and making music(my friend saw him a few months before he passed.) Now, back to Ghost: I find it unbelievably touching that Papa can invest so much emotion into lyrics that are essentially a bunch of gobbledygook/non sequitors. He really resurrects this song and it hits the hard hearts of young cynical fools like myself and clangs rhythm back into them! Thanks Rock, thank you Ghost for your contribution to music and the betterment of my life!
Also he involuntarily received electroconvulsive therapy.
The electro-shock therapy he underwent in lieu of prison time for possession didn't help his mental disposition
@@MrJimbroski23oh, no doubt. Same with Hemingway and other unwarranted casualties!
It saddens me to know that the only actual video footage of the sterling example of an intrepid, towering and intimating man that is Earnest Hemingway entails a stupefied husk of the guy following a gratuitous array of electroshock sessions that left him so utterly brain-drained that he could barely read the teleprompter and obviously couldnt even comprehend what he was saying(he was repeating sentences nonsensically, looking around in a confused daze and tripping over his own enunciations!
Like with Truman Capote or Ollie Reid being brought on talk shows just so they could make a drunk public spectacle for views; total exploitation...
But I digress...
@@ambassadortothenetherworld9433 I met him once to get an autograph at Lollapalooza. It was very sad. He was so out of it. It was even more sad when it seemed, to me, that his son dragged him on a tour about a year and a half before he died to make one last bit of cash using his father's name.(At Lollapalooza...performing Roky seemed fine. That last show that I saw though...I had to leave because it was so sad.)
Ghost: It'd be so memey to cover this song
Me: I mean okay but ...the guy had schizophrenia, that seems kind of tasteless
Roky: (incomprehensible ramblings)
Me: this is just nonsense. I don't understand a single thing this guy is trying to say
Ghost: imagine how lonely that must be
Me: 💔
This recording really showcases how beautiful his voice is when he chooses to use it that way. (Other times he goes for different vocal sounds, always perfectly chosen to fit the song-he's so flexible it's hard to believe it's the same singer sometimes.) It's ironic that for their first demo he saw himself as a filler vocalist until a "real" singer could be found.
A real singer? He's a great singer, listen to the dynamics in this. Soft, edgy, louder, everything.
@@Ida-iu3uj This was not gh00al's opinion. This was what Tobias said about himself. The idea was to have a different singer with every papa. I am so happy it all turned like this. Tobias is an artist and Ghost wouldn't have been the same without him.

Yeah man he interprets their material perfectly. Whats ironic is that he thought someone else would be the groups frontman. Would've been a huge mistake.
James C wait interprets their material? It’s all HIS material; he wrote it all... correct? And I’m not buying this he didn’t want to be front man hoopla for a second... this project is all planned out ... WELL... you don’t just mistakenly have perfect pitch ummmkay?
Tobias is the main songwriter writer. He has help, but Ghost is mostly Tobias. Opus was all written by Tobias.
