Absolutely convinced he's had some vocal training possibly operatic since the earlier days OR they really need to do EVERYTHING live recorded from now on. He's just got the notes down perfectly! Holds them to a point that isn't ridiculous, no warbling or anything dumb & he just sounds spectacular.
My Grandpa & Nan both sang with the Welsh Operatic Choir, my Nan whilst Ghost isn't really her thing haha, loves Papas voice & delivery. That's quite the compliment haha.

Seriously, should be called Poptane most of the time.
Papa's deadpan delivery is just darkly delicious. He's simultaneously taking himself seriously, but not. Genius. It's a fantastic way of twisting people's perception and expectations of the band and toying with everyone, like a tuxedo cat with a mouse. I mean 'Zombie Queen' is such an exquisitely frightening song, putting a kazoo and flamenco hand claps in it just makes your head explode with the contradiction, (but you'll die with a smile on your face). The earnest dedication to both perfectly crafted horror and comedy is fiendishly clever. It's like a 1950s B movie that's deliberately so bonkers it's brilliant. Papa's like an ironic heavy metal Ed Wood.
