@KitariItsSomethingRottenHere Well, I have seen them in concert 8 times. The last time was May 2018 and don't feel the need to see them live again unless something drastic happens.
My 1st intro to Ghost was 'Ritual' which was a random recommendation on Spotify whilst looking for rock to listen to. I was hooked instantly. I love it when discoveries are made like that 😀
The last solo on If You Have Ghosts is such an awesome Ghost moment. The solo is stellar but in this live performance, it's slightly flubbed at times. It's such a charming blemish and because of that, it is individually distinguished from the studio version solo while being exactly the same. Even the mistakes and the staggered success in fixing those mistakes on the fly, add so much color and character to the solo. Think about it like this. When you solo on the guitar, it's a moment of complete improvisation. Not everything you play is going to sound like gold. You're going to trip up and make a mistake. But it's not about falling; it's about getting back up. There's confidence and enthusiasm and vigor. Playing a picture-perfect copy of the solo in a live setting is just a pantomime of the real honest music. There needs to be moments of improvisation, to capture the essence of the solo that was made in complete improvisation in the first place. I don't know, I'm pretty stoned right now but I love this era of Ghost and can revel in the music until I die
