Hey guys. Great timing. I have a couple of pairs of nubuck shoes. They will be getting stain/water protected immediately. Hope you guys are handling all the storms I’ve been hearing about down there!

Thank you so much, I am now going to to try this on a much loved pair of suede shoes that has exactly the same problem as the shoes above. They have been in their box for a year now, I thought they could not be saved, but could not bring myself to throw them away. Wish me luck!
Thank you so much for this very helpful video. The shampoo and brushes really helped get the bad marks out of my suede boots. I'm glad i found this video. My boots look almost new again.
Great video. I viewed it again once the products arrived. Rewatching came in handy due to the very small print in multiple languages on the Saphir products (they are top notch).
I’ve watched all the videos on Suede and Nubuck, but never see the nubuck used. I know they are related, but can I actually use that suede brush on my nubuck without scratching it all up? Will it not start creating nap? I’d love to see something on Nubuck care that actually shows the Nubuck and not just suede. So glad I found the channel!
It's actually not recommended to get suede wet. You WILL get water stains if you only treat the stain area. This is one reason he cleans the whole of both pairs of boots. If you want a water free method use hydrogen peroxide 3% solution and dab it on the suede, use a crepe suede brush for bringing the nap up again after. I prefer it to a brush with metal bristles as they can bend and hook into the suede and damage it
Great Video!! You did it exactly the way it supposed to be done by doing the entire boot. If there’s oil and dirt then you can use dawn dishwashing liquid. It is the best at deep cleaning suede and removes ANY oil stain.
@@lorettaarzaga4172 Yes- it cleans everything including grease, oil and dirt-Suede is a tough, durable material. It can take it. If you spot clean suede, you will have spotted suede shoes. I never liked suede for footwear. I have a pair of Belleville sand colored combat boots that I did all the maintenance on, but they stained and dirtied up so quickly, that I just gave up cleaning them. The last pair of suede boots I bought were made by Chippewa. I worked Pecards beeswax rifle sling dressing into them, and they shed off everything now.

Trenton & Heath Good to know! Anything more than using a shoe tree? I have small wrinkles in a used First Avenue boot i picked up last week, and would like to get them reduced or removed, if you have any suggestions. Or maybe the subject of another video? Thanks again!
I was wearing my new suede boots and got caught in rain which left black color on the tops where it used to be teal. Can I restore the original color in these areas? Thanks a million!
Can you make a video on cleaning suede gloves? I ended up shampooing mine with Saphir suede shampoo and it did an acceptable job removing stains. It made my gloves more wrinkly than before but I had to clean it myself since no dry cleaners on my area can do it. Good video BTW! I've done it before and it's a evening of fun work.
I knew about the suede shampoo but not sure how to do it. Now I know. Thanks. I didn't know about need to waterproof suede , though. I like suede but gave up on it because it seemed to hard and costly to maintain, clean etc and it easily gets stained. Might give it another go now. Rummaging around old shops I came across a strange invention called a domestic boot drier, made in the UK.Here in Australia, they all laughed at it. Why on earth would anybody need such a thing, even if you have wet boots? Just turn them upside down and let them dry in the sun. I was going to discard this electric boot drier that was only of use as a joke or talking point . But, now I am glad I still have it. One never knows what might happen that necessitates a boot drier eg if one spills wine on suede boots that need to then be shampooed and dried off....I have never seen this item ever sold new in Australia. But, they must use them in the colder, wetter UK, where it was made.

I oil stained the shoes, i felt remorse. I bought the brush, i bought the eraser, i bought the cleaner. I brushed the brush, i erased with the eraser, i cleaned with the cleaner, i stain removed with the stain remover. Nothing did a damn thing to remove fresh olive oil from suede shoes. BUT…. There was a solution. I merely dipped a sponge in olive oil and coated the whole shoes. IT WORKED. All that happened was it slightly darkened the color and as a bonus it improved the water resistance! But they look fantastic. This is not a parody or joke. 100% real
Great video and instruction, however I was wondering why didn’t you apply renoveteur conditioning spray before applying water proofing spray. Can we skip applying conditioning spray? Asking this question as I have decide on buying products (range) for my suede/nubuck shoes care. Highly appreciate your response. Take care and stay safe 👍🏻
If you water proof spray before removing any stains the stains will become waterproof too and nearly impossible to clean off. But a good habit is to spray shoe protector all over before you wear new shoes. Then water and stains are less penetrable to start with!. The spraying must be done at least a couple of times a year, more if using the shoes daily.
I wasn’t aware that one could “fix” suede once it had been stained. Another great, helpful video from Trenton & Heath. Thank you!
