The fact that you rebuilt almost every component instead of throwing parts and money at it, makes this one of the best restorations on you tube. By a long shot. Nicely done!
This is a REAL restoration. You didn’t just throw all new parts in it, you restored from what it seemed like 99% of the original parts. Love it brother love it 🙏🏼
You can absolutely tell that this was a project of love. Even after it's complete, to go back through every video made over the last three years just to put together what essentially is a 42 minute highlights reel really puts into perspective that this was a passion project. One that we are all upset to see end, but one that ended complete. Thank you for a hell of a series, Ronald. Here's to the next project!
@@DavidPlass He cut out nearly all the face videos, dialogue, etc. Making it essentially a highlights video, highlighting the car not the man behind it.
By far the best restoration I've seen over all these years on UA-cam. What impressed me was that you knew everything, from mechanics and bodywork, to the electronics of the cassette player. And unlike the other restoration channels, you restore parts as much as possible, rather than just swapping like everyone else (who does what's easy rather than what's right). It was worth every minute. C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S !
Exactly my thoughts. How did this dude learn all of those different skills. I see so many restorations where the body gets fixed & nothing else because that's all that guy knows, so he sells it to a drive train & suspension guy, who them sells it to an interior guy who finishes it. Not necessarily in that order, but you get the idea. They can only do their part. No shame in that, but that's ebay is amazing about this resto.
WoW…. So great to see younger generation bringing back to life a part of my generations past. Excellent Job Guys…. I was 17 and went to the Pontiac dealer shop where we bought all of my families cars from through the years. My parents went out of town with their friends and I needed an oil change on my Fire Chicken (Trans-am)and I always waited there while they did it. So this day I’m walking around the dealership looking at the new Fire Chickens (Trans-am)and this Salesperson recognized me from my family’s prior purchases and approaches me. Asking if I’m ready to trade in for a new one. I hadn’t thought about the adult things behind purchasing a new car, I was 17, lol… I told him my parents were outta town and he told me “No Problem” and that he knew my parents and I could simply pick one and drive it home and when my parents got back in town he’d contact them to gather the info. I told him to show me what he’s got, lmao… I had my heart set on a 1988 GTA, the 1987’s didn’t not have T-Tops and they only came in automatic transmissions… Well, my buddy got one for his Birthday and it was beautiful, had T-tops, 5-speed, and a digital dash… It made my 1987 look prehistoric…. Mine seemed faster cause I’d whoop him every-time… I always thought it was the driver and he just couldn’t grasp the stick shift/clutch gig… Nope… The automatics had a 5.7liter 350 and all the 1988’s with 5-speeds and T-tops were a 305 engine… This is why my buddy couldn’t keep up with me… As I walked on the lot I saw this yellow car… it was a Formula Fiero with sunroof, 5-speed, and a 6 cylinder engine… I drove it home and loved it… I knew that my Mom was gonna flip her shit when she found out what I’d done… So I knew I had to put some miles on it so they couldn’t take it back, lmao… So that day, on a Saturday, I drove up the east coast all along the beach putting 500 miles on it that day… I kept it for several years and all I ever did to it was oil changes, brakes once, and a couple sets of tires, no shit… it ran perfect and was never a problem…. It was an Awesome car…. 🏆💯👊🏼💙
I was looking to buy one back in 85, but due to the sales guys on the lot not taking me seriously, I went with a Mazda Rx-7 GSL Still, a part of me wishes for the Fiero
This is the most complete restoration that I personally have ever seen. Pure genius! Even restored the radio/cassette… omg! That guy is extremely talented.
Can't wait to see what's next. The capability you have in that barn is outrageous. You can paint in a "booth", powdercoat, electrolysis rust removal, sand blasting, there's a lift, and a sweet little donkey to help when you accidentally knock a body panel off the sawhorses. Love it!
Not to mention all of the very real skills he picked up while doing all of these things. I picked up a decent set of mechanics skills while working on my own beaters as a young man. Buying the parts and tools was always cheaper than paying someone to do it for me. And I never got anywhere near the wide range of tasks that Ronald did during this restoration. Some of the fairly expensive tools were donated or possibly loaned. I've asked but don't recall seeing any answer as to whether he had to return any of them. But if he did have to return some, now that he is a UA-cam millionaire I guess he can replace them if he really needs esoteric capabilities such as electrolytic rust removal in the future. Or I guess he could just follow some of the UA-cam videos on how to do that with a tank of chemicals and a spare car battery. :-D
Simply amazing!! At some point the video just stops being about the car. It's about you! I admire your will, the dedication, the brains for improvisation, the freaking patience, the enormous variety of knowledge and skills and the mastery that is shown here.... WOW! I am 56 and I owned a 1985 Fiero 2M4 in Silver back in 1988. I absolutely loved that car. It had a lot of issues/defects and I actually learned what little I know about cars from constantly working on my Fiero. But that didn't stop me from loving it. GREAT JOB restoring this car. Absolutely loved the restoration and attention to detail. The Fiero was my dream car back in the 1980s. It came out the year I graduated so it was special to me. I finally ended up with a 1984 white base model in 1992. After a couple years I moved on, but bought a 1984 SE in red out of a salvage yard in 2003. This one got a full tilt resto-mod with upgraded tires, wheels, brakes and interior. I did not have the time or skill set to do what they did to the one in this video, so I ended up spending about $20k having it restored. Loved it until another Fiero enthusiast in our car club persuaded me to sell it to him. Beautiful work you did in restoring this classic piece of automotive history and a huge salute from a lifelong Fiero fan.
My Dad worked in the Fiero plant he put on two motor mounts/dogbones , spare tire & compartment it sat in, me & my brother got a lil hands on experience which was FUN , we also went on a few tours, this video brings back so many memories I always wanted too work in a autoplant and love working on autos even now.
Dude, you’re a genius. You are so gifted ! You can do anything that’s crazy ! Even the filming, the editing and the songs choices is great. This might be one of the most interesting and entertaining videos I’ve ever seen on UA-cam . Congratulations
I'm 53 and I love the feelings created by the 80's-sounding soundtrack! This could have easily been 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off 2.' 😊 Thanks again for the good vibes!!!
this has probably been one of the best car restorations ever made on youtube, I would love if you had it professionally detailed and had it put on display. What a beautiful car.
in these kast three years, i have lost my father, my belief in my country, my belief in myself, yet you just keep on doing what you like and keep it going until you accomplish it. i respect you... ypu are a person to be recognized.
I commend your love, passion, and commitment to this project. It was a pleasure that myself and others got to go on this journey with you. Every single mistake, every single curse word, every single moment of frustration and pain is something that we have all felt working on cars. This entire process was the most damn genuine car restoration on UA-cam.
As a kid I remember one of our teachers had a brand new red Fiero. We all stood around it wishing we could have one. Very unique car for its day.Nice restoration,
Ronald, this brought real joy to me to see. I got an '87 2M4 high milage survivor a year ago that I've been daily driving. You brought a car most don't consider worth saving back to factory fresh condition. That's something to be proud of, and I've bookmarked your Playlist as a cheat sheet for my own repairs and restoration efforts. Cheers!
I hope that your own repairs go well on your own car. Meanwhile, have you heard about the person that used a Pontiac Fiero chassis and rebuilt his car into a practically perfect copy of a Lamborghini Miura?
@@thoralexander9387 My friend did a Porsche 911 conversion on his 88 v6 back in the late 90's. They are so simple to disassemble near anyone can do it if they have access to the basic tools. Looked similar enough to a real 911 that he could fool casuals but any real car nut spots it right away. Still was a hoot to drive.
The fact that you did almost everything your self is amazing, congratulations on the achievement and learning to paint , repairing everything!!! Just truly inspiring 👌✅
That was so satisfying to watch. I always loved seeing fieros around in their prime a thousand years ago when I was young, so it’s super special to see this one brought back to its former glory. And I do appreciate the outtakes at end, Bringing the viewer back to the reality of a project like this.
This video series really inspired me. That’s why come this Sunday, I’m gonna become the owner of a 90 Trans Am. Thanks for giving me the confidence to undertake a project, which a year ago seemed impossible to someone like me!
This was my dream car when I was 16. How cool to see one brought back to the 80s. I'm so glad you showed the bloopers. If I had tried this, that's all there would be and the car would still look like it did in the woods. Terrific job!
Well, I agree with your comment. But, They don't look like they're 15 either. They're just what we call a "Dying Breed". Not many men these days have THAT much knowledge, Including myself. I mean, I can do a lot of work by myself, But I have nowhere NEAR the knowledge these men have!
This brings back great memories. I watched this restoration from day one, subscribed to your channel and watched each video as soon as you posted them. I watched you mature as your skills matured. Any parent would be proud to have you as their son.
My first thought was why a Fiero, but I realized I was being an ass, it doesn't matter what it is because YOU did it, it's your car and you did a fantastic job. You have a bright future ahead
I had an '84 - a Supercharged 3.8 from a Bonneville sure made it go! Bolted right up to the stock trans, though I did have to have a flywheel welded and match drilled for the std. Trans.
"everyone knows when you lock the keys in the truck of a fiero the lock cylinder disappears and takes body molding with it" - a brilliant attempt by ronald to cover his flaws
I bought 1 as a project back when i was like 18 but never did much with it sold it. Wish i had done the work good job! Really glad people like you still exist.
Absolutely THE best restoration I have ever seen... just amazing work! I wouldn’t sell that car for a million dollars with a the blood sweat & tears that went into it! Congratulations!!!!
What an amazing restoration. I was a teen in the 90s and wanted one of these so bad growing up. So much respect for actually fixing things instead of throwing parts at it. I was amazed to see you fix that radio/cassette player. Great job!
It’s still hard to believe it’s been over three years. Believe it or not you inspire so many other people to restore other cars like yours.we are ready for your next project.keep up your work👍
Crazy to think I was 13 when you started this revival. I'm now married, 3 children and have been the general manager for my local dealership for 7 years.
Phenomenal effort. You're so lucky to be blessed with the skill, dedication, perseverance to undertake such a task, as well as the wealth to have all the tools and equipment to do so.
I love this video! I’ve seen a lot of vehicle restoration videos but this one is by far my favorite. Because it’s just a guy doing all this work over 3 years on his spare time. The attention to detail is amazing. Salute to you sir! 🫡
Mad respect. Story time: my dad was one of the original designers of the Fiero and he drove the very first one off the line. He absolutely loved these cars. We had 10 at one time all different years and trim/package levels.
The best restoration project I've seen in my whole life. All my respect for these efforts and patience 🙏 . Trust me .. watching this video was much more exciting than any of the best Hollywood movies. You are amazing guys🙋♂️
El algoritmo de UA-cam me trajo hasta acá no se porque!!! Pero miré el video de principio a fin, TREMENDO laburo el de estas personas... no son ningunos improvisados, saben bien lo que hacen. El trabajo quedó IMPECABLE! Felicitaciones!!!
While I was watching this I started remembering the 80’s and how the Fiero played a large part of it. So many vehicles came out in that decade and the Fiero stood out for sure. Great work on bringing it back to life.
As a former owner of a 86' Fiero (bought in the summer of 90') I actually went looking for a Fiat X19 but when I found the Fiero and drove it I bought it on the spot. I drove it daily for many years until it was no longer safe to drive. I parted it out and recall pretty much breaking even on it. Mr. Finger, I hope she gives you many years of safe use, enjoyment & pride. Watching this Vid. brought back some awesome memories ~ Thank You, Sir.
All I can say is, "Wow!" You invested time, sweat and money...endured the process of success tempered with frustration, but look at what you have! I'm old enough to have been an original owner of a Fiero, he, he. Not your average American sports car, the Fiero was in a class of it's own.
That was one of the best restorations I watched. I really enjoyed and respect every minute of all your efforts. Overall, as a result, it was a great job in deep detail. Please continue...
great restoration, next time though remember to wet-sand the clear coats, then after buff and polish you wont have the orange peel look to your finish. But other than the paint (which still looks good) you did an amazing, and very professional job. I wish half the young guys in the shops were this thorough these days... Excellent!!
The undertaking was a time capsule of something from another time. We can rebuild you better then you ever were before, this is our first time so we will booth learn as we go. Do not worry, you will be a super hero in the end.
I love and appreciate this condensed version, but if you think, for one second, that I'm not gonna re-binge this whole series again...and again...and again, then you, my friend, are mistaken. Goddammit.

You should watch this series, it features a Ferrari Fiero.
It was a lot of fun with the Fiero running.

Even restored the radio and tapedeck. Unbelievable. Blooper reel was gold
I wanted to write a meaningful comment but maybe "THANKS" it's just all I need to say, What a journey this has been. Cheers from Italy.
hi, i'm new to this business, can you see how i restore?
Dude, you’re a genius. You are so gifted ! You can do anything that’s crazy ! Even the filming, the editing and the songs choices is great. This might be one of the most interesting and entertaining videos I’ve ever seen on UA-cam . Congratulations
This is so impressive man. You literally touched every part of that car. If i could give it more "likes" i would have.
Well Done!
I'm 53 and I love the feelings created by the 80's-sounding soundtrack! This could have easily been 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off 2.' 😊 Thanks again for the good vibes!!!
The last 30 seconds is PRICELESS!!!
That's what she said.
@@robertg262 🤣🤣🤣
Full of patient n fuck..haha..
Sounds like me working on shit in the garage
The bits at the end is what automotive restoration/work is really like. Phenomenal work. Can't beat that 80's coolness.
this has probably been one of the best car restorations ever made on youtube, I would love if you had it professionally detailed and had it put on display. What a beautiful car.
Did u see it😍
Pure gold video.
Excellent and very clean job.
The music is very accurate for the car.
Amazing work Ronald - Glad to see all your hard work paid off!!
Thank you for helping him! :)
Hi
in these kast three years, i have lost my father, my belief in my country, my belief in myself, yet you just keep on doing what you like and keep it going until you accomplish it. i respect you... ypu are a person to be recognized.
I'm sure the next chapter, or book, will be as fun to follow as this has been. Following.......
hi, i'm new to this business, can you see how i restore?
How tf does someone this young know how to do all this?!?!
I commend your love, passion, and commitment to this project. It was a pleasure that myself and others got to go on this journey with you. Every single mistake, every single curse word, every single moment of frustration and pain is something that we have all felt working on cars. This entire process was the most damn genuine car restoration on UA-cam.
Those final cut scenes are priceless! Shows the real meat of the struggle.
When the hood fell off the saw horses I lost it.
As a kid I remember one of our teachers had a brand new red Fiero. We all stood around it wishing we could have one. Very unique car for its day.Nice restoration,
The end there makes me feel more human...🤣🤣🤣 Just WOW guys!!! Awesome job done here!!!
Proud to say I followed the whole build since the beginning. Excited to see what you do next :D
X2 💪
About a year in for me, first time I ever used "Notify" on UA-cam. I wanted to know when there were new videos.
Me too!
.. Same.
@@leefranklin3054 OMG same for me too! His channel was the first one I started using notifications on
Ronald, this brought real joy to me to see.
@@paxhumana2015 Not the Miura specifically, but I know a lot of Fieros became kit cars of some description. It sounds like the Miura was a custom job
This is how to do a RESTO and you had the 80's themed music to add Flava, Great Job my man!
Sherry sherry lady..haha..
That was so satisfying to watch. I always loved seeing fieros around in their prime a thousand years ago when I was young, so it’s super special to see this one brought back to its former glory. And I do appreciate the outtakes at end, Bringing the viewer back to the reality of a project like this.
Love the ending of the video. Really shows the true frustration that comes with doing something like this!🤘
I was just about to click next..read this comment and waited for gold lol did not disappoint. Props for the dedication
Damn, you guys are real mechanics you go in and fix the parts you guys are some real mechanics
Ronnie, you have footage of yourself rebuilding the calipers on the kitchen counter. If your mom sees this you could be in trouble. Praying for you.
hi, i'm new to this business, can you see how i restore?
And the steering column on the dinning table! Ronnie, your mom is going to beat you with a wooden clothes hanger! Run boy, RUN!!
What a fantastic job !!! It’s always great to see the younger generation doing a complete restoration like this ! Enjoy the fruit of your labor !
This video series really inspired me. That’s why come this Sunday, I’m gonna become the owner of a 90 Trans Am. Thanks for giving me the confidence to undertake a project, which a year ago seemed impossible to someone like me!
The most satisfying restoration video I've watched.
This was definitely a labour of love. The time and effort gone into this restoration plus the skill and indunuity is outstanding. Loved it.
This was my dream car when I was 16. How cool to see one brought back to the 80s. I'm so glad you showed the bloopers. If I had tried this, that's all there would be and the car would still look like it did in the woods. Terrific job!
Nice name..... The first sounds Greek, the last Oriental. 👺
My question is how come these guys can do all the work all by themselves at those ages? That's what we should appreciate!
Well, I agree with your comment. But, They don't look like they're 15 either. They're just what we call a "Dying Breed". Not many men these days have THAT much knowledge, Including myself. I mean, I can do a lot of work by myself, But I have nowhere NEAR the knowledge these men have!
@@pronerider5626 Ronald is in his mid 20's and he has just been around cars for a long time and he's picked up a lot.
@@PeterGriffin-kb2hf Yep, That's what I figured! I'm self taught, I have enough to get me by. But NO way am I this skilled.
I agree wonderful job for their age. I train young people in the collision industry and it’s hard to find young people who have interest in cars!
I remember cruising in these as a teenager!! Latest hair band cassette blasting!! Takes me back bro! Nice work!!
This brings back great memories. I watched this restoration from day one, subscribed to your channel and watched each video as soon as you posted them. I watched you mature as your skills matured. Any parent would be proud to have you as their son.
Amazing restoration, the retro music is top notch too
"Dammit!" Loved the end part
All that heartache at the end. LOVED this series and car. Ronnie Finger is an absolute legend.
hi, i'm new to this business, can you see how i restore? ?
My first thought was why a Fiero, but I realized I was being an ass, it doesn't matter what it is because YOU did it, it's your car and you did a fantastic job. You have a bright future ahead
I'm not crying, there's just some sandblasting media in my eyes 😭
owo
:3
I didn't cry I swear I only got gasoline into my eyes
I just got an 85 fiero gt to restore. I just found this page and honestly it is making it a lot easier!! Thanks! Wish me luck lol
I had an '84 - a Supercharged 3.8 from a Bonneville sure made it go! Bolted right up to the stock trans, though I did have to have a flywheel welded and match drilled for the std. Trans.
Thats awesome! Sadly mine has the 3 spd automatic trans lol. So I'm gonna be looking to swap it.
"everyone knows when you lock the keys in the truck of a fiero the lock cylinder disappears and takes body molding with it" - a brilliant attempt by ronald to cover his flaws
hi, i'm new to this business, can you see how i restore? ?
I bought 1 as a project back when i was like 18 but never did much with it sold it. Wish i had done the work good job! Really glad people like you still exist.
Absolutely THE best restoration I have ever seen... just amazing work! I wouldn’t sell that car for a million dollars with a the blood sweat & tears that went into it! Congratulations!!!!
What an amazing restoration. I was a teen in the 90s and wanted one of these so bad growing up. So much respect for actually fixing things instead of throwing parts at it. I was amazed to see you fix that radio/cassette player. Great job!
Wow, just wow. I've been restoring a 84 i4 and a 86 v6. Yours though- perfection my good sir. Well done.
A lot of work. Turned out GREAT because of that work. NICE!
We q
deep respect mate.. this is insane! good you never gave up. I admire your passion and dedication 💪
All that in three years?
You should put down the fredramine puffery
too funny
3 children in 3 years at 16 years old?
2024
A magic touch.
Well done.
Respect from Russia dude.

This car was my favorite as a kid, good of you to save it!
Will present you once you get back to kid 🙌
Me too! Had one just like this one. Good times!
How many skills can one person have!? Congrats for being a great human 💪🏼
All I can say is, "Wow!" You invested time, sweat and money...endured the process of success tempered with frustration, but look at what you have! I'm old enough to have been an original owner of a Fiero, he, he. Not your average American sports car, the Fiero was in a class of it's own.
so great to see someone bring something back to life that was so far gone. most likely better than the factory. excellent work. thanks for the video.
It sure is better than the factory. In factory they build this for paycheck, but in here they build this with enthusiasm
That was one of the best restorations I watched. I really enjoyed and respect every minute of all your efforts. Overall, as a result, it was a great job in deep detail. Please continue...
What a fantastic renovation, probably one of the most beautiful I've seen on YT. Thank you for sharing and congratulations again ^^
great restoration, next time though remember to wet-sand the clear coats, then after buff and polish you wont have the orange peel look to your finish. But other than the paint (which still looks good) you did an amazing, and very professional job. I wish half the young guys in the shops were this thorough these days... Excellent!!
Yep...all I could see was the orange peel.
Kid has more drive and patience than anyone I know. Not bad for A kid in his garage though.
Hey now, that's "authentic" GM orange peel!!
The undertaking was a time capsule of something from another time. We can rebuild you better then you ever were before, this is our first time so we will booth learn as we go. Do not worry, you will be a super hero in the end.
I'm from Cambodia, I'm so humble with your detail and restoration. God bless you brother
Awesome work.
I was laughing at the end with the cursing.
Thats me fixing things 100%, the missus calls me an angry builder.
The 80s Music Went Perfectly with this Video!
Spectacular Jobs !👍🤝
This is amazing. From the deep, detailed restoration of the car itself, to filming, editing, music, and done over 3 years. Super impressive.
I love how your can clearly see the point of when the project changed into a full blown restoration rather than a revival
wow! just wow! You literally touch everything! Absolutely congratulations!
This was so dope. The music, the quick cuts, and the amazing lengths you dudes went to for this restoration. 👏🏽
I love and appreciate this condensed version, but if you think, for one second, that I'm not gonna re-binge this whole series again...and again...and again, then you, my friend, are mistaken. Goddammit.
titanic work, colossal patience and perfectionism in everything ..my respect to you guys!
I miss my old fiero. Was sooo much fun to drive.
