Very similar cleaning procedure as I do. I remove the body and wheels and toss those in the sink to rinse them last. Then I take my airbrush with air-compressor to remove any dirt from the chassis and a hairdryer to dry up all the moisture. And maybe take a paper towel and some q-tips in some of the tiny crevices to be sure. Then I grease up any mechanical bits with a white lithium grease which is water repellent. Then I just clean the body and wheels under tap with an old dish washing brush if needed.

I used to own a 85 4runner as my daily driver before losing it in a fire last year so owning it in RC makes me happy, so I deff want to get this to match my full size sammy

The one thing I'm not a fan of is getting foams dried out. I used to leave wheels sealed up, but performance suffers. Dual stage foams are way to expensive to let them go bad....however vented tires, chucked in a drill at high speed....most of the water comes out. But when I have certain wheels on, water just is not allowed. Not going to trash 50$ steel wheels and 40$ worth of dual stage foam to play in a puddle. Heck I really don't even like sticking most trucks in any mud at all, yes electronics are waterproof, but bearings get expensive after a while.

I just seal up the receiver box with some silicone sealant for use in aquariums just to be sure. Just put a bit around any place water could possibly get in, like holes and the edge of the lid. The sealant isn't an adhesive but will seal it up nicely so you can still easily take it apart. Just be sure to seal it up again when taking it apart. It might not look great, but it works a treat.
