Bought my first element as an rtr in January 2021 brand new for $250. Now almost 2 years later they are asking $400 for the same thing just shortened chassis and different body. They are pricing themselfs out of being the best cheap rc. They are going to have to up the quality or do big changes if they keep hiking the price up.
Right on man! $299 would have been Fire! You can get a Gatekeeper kit for $219 for like a whole year. Every manufacturer thrown crazy prices on stuff to see what we will pay. They will end up, pushing us all to buy stuff from banggood lol. 😝
I would have liked to see this comparable pricing to the trx4 sport or 10.3. Inflation has gone too far at this point and I think companies are just pricing stuff accordingly even if it’s not costing them that much more
Nice to see the body alignment is so on point - even some tire tuck, and at full flex the front wheels aren't choking off the body! I've always enjoyed the short wheelbase rigs, they just have something about them that's more fun. That filter on the video made me try to mess with my screen settings to crank up the contrast haha, I thought something was wrong with my screen!
The Suzuki we had was on 40's. I'd put 2.2 inch tires and wheels on that thing to match the body a bit better for a true crawler. As it is it looks like its on 33's or 35's. Works yes, but needs larger tires to wheel where we live.
It looks really good, I like it. Would look even better with some toyota style axle like those made by Vanquish for the Phoenix. The fact that Knight custom already has some designs ready to add details to it is awesome too.
Probably add this to my fleet. I scratch built a Sumo Samurai on a cut rc4wd frame and made it to look like my 1:1 Samurai. The Sumo is a shelf queen but I'll drive the Element!
I like this move by element. I owned a Sammy when I was younger ( lifted on 33s) . I would love to see a build on this with a hard top for the rear to make it more samurai. Thanks for another great video. I may get one after I bring myself to sell a few trucks 😆 🤣 😂
Cool little rig! They'll likely do well with this as I'm pretty sure there's a lot of folks still modding the Suzuki Samarais in full scale which is loosely what that body comes from I think (albeit a pickup instead of a jeep-like suv). Interested in seeing where you take this.
I like it. My SIL came home in a brand new 86 samurai hard top and I got to drive it a good bit. I’ve always had a spot in my heart for them and this could fix that scratch.
Cool looking truck, it's nice to see a body of this style coming out since it's not really that common to see. I'll have to see how much it is when it appears at my LHS, been wanting a Knight Rider for a while now but tough choice between spending on that or this.
@@scalebuildersguild Thanks for the great content. I love browsing the models at the Shop even if I'm too broke to buy them lol. I love some of the Boxart as well, Tamiya is generally very good in that area but just fondling display models is enjoyable.
Very cool video man. I like this release. Element is really doing the different styles. Not another jeep or chevy hahaha. I do want this. Not sure when I'll get one. Doing a c2 build with an ecto. And picking up a braizin scale c1 chassis for something hahaha. Plus I'm trying to save slowly for that bxr02 series 3 hahaha. But. I love this element very cool. Also cool to see what knight is doing for it.
Love it, want it, lol but i want to know since youve driven both the Bushido and the tws cts which was more fun, which is a better deal, how much bigger is the Bushido
Definitely getting one of these! 😊 But! ..it will bug me that it’s a 7th scale. All my other scale trucks are 10th scale and this will look too big beside them. But I totally get that Element/Team Associated don’t want to spend lots of R&D to develop a whole new 10th scale version only for these, smaller trucks. But maybe I’ll need at least two trucks like this one to not be bugged. 😄
I'm glad this eats at someone other than me. I can deal with the industry settling on 1/8.5, as that's what the Tamiya Hilux, the Aoshima FJ40 and the China D90s and Jeeps come in at. Easier to get commercial axles under and makes 1.9"s equ to 16". So many Proline bodies come in at that scale too. I can deal all my trucks are bigger than my buggies and scale road cars. But then occasionally a company does this. The concept of 'scale; isn't "all the things fit in the same box', that's the exact opposite.
@@Rex_StuphI agree with all of that. I want an ISO standardized RC universe when comes to scale. 😄 There might be a way to make it more of a 10th scale. I imagine you could fiddle with some extreme negative offset rims with 1.55 tyres. And most important, a smaller body. But hey, then you might be better off building everything from scratch with sourced parts and a printer. 😅
Hear, hear! It looks terrible when a Samurai is as big as a Hilux, which is as big as an F350, which is the same size as the flatbed semi it's riding on. Horrible. But, the industry isn't about accuracy or excellence. Nor are most customers. Maybe it's time for some super-scale events and shows to promote realism...
Shorter rear links and drive shaft (or cut a little off the drive shaft insert) Not sure which length links Element are using here yet though the info's probably out there somewhere.
I kinda dig it. It definitely needs inner fenders and an interior though. Thank god knight customs is gonna help this rig out, lol. But element could've at least given us hidden body post. But still like it
Wait, so this isn’t a shrunken chassis? But, rather, an enlarged body? I see where you’re coming from on the added weight on top. For a minute, though, I thought the world had just been handed a really well appointed mini chassis. I thought for sure this was a super short wheelbase!
Nice looking vehicle. I have long wanted a 1:1 Samurai so I may end up getting this but I do wish it was 1/10 (or 1/9) scale. I think it would be fun and challenging driving a 1/10 Samurai next to a TRX4, SCX10, etc. MST and RGT managed to do it so why not Element? I fear the 1/7 scale will put a lot of people off. Take care!
The MST and RGT trucks are based on preexisting narrow axles. Where as this is just the basic Element RC chassis parts. Besides scale in this hobby is pretty fast n' loose anyways!
I totally agree with you, but it wouldn't sell well, because most people would think it's too small (challenging their masculinity), and would resent the cost being the same as their larger rigs. It's the psychological shortcomings of the consumer that keep us from having more accurate options.
