Body is naff but what we really need is an updated gatekeeper 2.0 with IFS2 front end and gatekeeper trailing arm/ sway bar rear end !
With a high speed gearset… or a two speed kit.
A little dab of clear nail polish helps a ton on screw heads etc. that like to rust quick. Doesn't get in the way of anything and provides just a little extra protection in my experience.

Doesn't look that bad, it goes well enough to excuse the looks in my mind. At least it isn't orange like the Outback for example (I had one and loved the shell but hated the colour).

Absolutely agree on the new/rebody thing, it's one of the things I like about the Element stuff. Not only is each truck a very decent performer out of the box, each model is different to each other in terms of looks and build. It's why I have a Sendero HD (that's stock but keeps on surprising people with what it can get up and around, they think it's got loads of upgrades!) and a custom built Gatekeeper. Both regularly outperform much more expensive rigs on a regular basis when out with my local groups. So much so that people are switching over to Element stuff when they change trucks!

This is another excellent review. I think a good performer like this one at a better price may make competitors reconsider their prices if it sells well. Associated may want to consider holding events like Axial does which shows off their products.

I have to admit the body is growing on me the more I see it, really looking forward to getting my hands on one in the future. I've always had a soft spot for the Element rigs, especially the IFS. Like you said at the price this seems to be a great performer. Cheers for another great review fella.
I think with some clear windows and some of the bits knight customs is working on for it it’ll be a decent looking rig. Not as great as the night runner but not bad.
I'm watching this video and I'm very impressed I like when you take it to the rock quarry because a lot of people don't do that so you really don't get the the hot end of it have fun with it my friend

It looked like the new one had taller tires that were at least partly responsible for the increased front clearance. Looks withstanding this is still destined for my connection.

Good review. Nice truck, like the chassis. Maybe the body will look better with a different paint job, or even just a bunch of stickers on it. It's not bad, it just looks a bit....off.

I like that platform so much. Their pricing structure is a bit inscrutable, though. Like why is the Gatekeeper less than the Ecto?
Would be sweet to see a modern detailed ute body on it like a newer hilux or dmax with some hidden mounts
Not a fan of the body but maybe some scale props might help

The looks are a bit marmite, but I really like the way it looks. And it performs so well. I would spend my money on one of these!! 😎👍🏻

That's the thing about the trx4, I like the defender but it is soo expensive for how old it is.
Some Touring car shocks and all of a sudden you have a 94 to 2007 pro-4 off road racing chassis.

uuuu.... this IFS2 on a buggy body with a special brushless setup or a 2 speed gearbox, with (un)lockable diffs would make for a very very nice Ultra 4 build! [probably the best currently available]

I think It looks well intriguing and would be more than lucky to get one lol those are not badly priced thou and Enduro makes great escs and tyranny and inside workings but they don't make good hard body's wpl has them beat on that one my helux wpl c24 looks way way more scale than that dose lowland I spent 75 on it hand painted it and my trucks look amazing not to brag I'm just proud that I can do it with my mental disability s this hobby has taken me to a whole other place mentally has helped me over come alot and helps my self esteem I bet you any thing I could make that truck look amazing

I can confirm I measure my ride height with a 30mm foam tire and a disposable lighter. If not, you're doing it wrong.
All these years I’ve used a disposable tyre and a 30mm foam lighter! 🤪

Performs well enough, and I like the extra clearance at the front. But the look of the body ain't all that. Ah! It needs a spare wheel on the bonnet! I did that with my Outback Geo!

Is it possible to put and IFS 2 onto the night runner? Also, if this was a kit vs RTR, you could have sprayed all the screws and items that could rust before building and you would be okay for a few runs without rust.
