@@yaktaur Theyr'e coming, don't worry, I just finished watching a 2hr 20 fixing extravaganza on the Patreon feed and there was another one the same day that i;'m about to watch. Lovely stuff

Your soldering skills have massively improved since the first video I've watched of you. Keep this up, and there will be a $2 an hour job in my Chinese electrical sweatshop with your name on it!
Fascinating. Usually these are those terrible to semi-decent NES on a chip messes, but this one clearly is a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive on a chip. I think the audio sounded slightly off on Turtles but not too bad, and looked like it played and displayed right. I'm semi-tempted by sticker to go looking for one of those online just to see the game list etc.
Judging by the look of that USB-C port I think someone has jammed a micro-USB cable into it, with both ends of the inner plastic part being entirely mashed but the middle part being somewhat intact. Might be wrong, but it sure looks that way!
Love that you chose Donatello. Went to Retro Computer Museum earlier in the year with my 13 year old son and completed turtles. With…an amount…of lives *ahem*. Best day ever.
I did my first surface mount cap replacement the other day which went well thanks to watching you Steve, but I noticed I had melted some plastic at the end so I feel your pain! 🙂
I really like this channel, no black glove, no equipment pricier than my car , basic, well done electronic, nice sense of humor and Dave. Perfect to spend a good time a Saturday night.
@@Njazmo Yes, but you got to aim at the right spot and keep the focus ... and even if it is "just a stupid magnifyer": I don't have one and enjoy watching through his 😊
Very very often when Lion battery is in storage, voltage drops below sensing level of charging circuit and it wont try to charge anymore, so you remove battery charge it with stupid charger for few minutes and it often good as new:) I save many devices like this without replacing any batteries :P
I fucking love this channel. No idea what is going on but I bloody love it. I tried to follow a video to fix a certain unnamed electrical device. My wife decided to help. I will not name you in the court case I'm named in.
A USB connector in devices like these is usually just for the charging voltage. Here I see all 4 pins being populated (including data+ and data-) so maybe you can update firmware or manage the games in its memory?
Totally awesomeness Brother. You are doing super duper work!! Thanks again for sharing Your passion and adventures from Toronto Ontario Canada 😎 👍 ♥️ ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️✨️✨️✨️✨️💯💯💯💯💯✨️
I'm assuming you can just put in three AA batteries in place of the rechargeable one so you can still use it with the broken port or am I missing something.
Any constant current constant voltage bench power supply is also a lithium battery charger. Set the volts to 4.2V and the current to be about half or less of the Amp hour rating. If the voltage is below 3V, use a low current like 1/10th the AH rating. If below 2V, use 1/50th. Charge is complete when the current drops off close to zero. Independently measure the load voltage to make sure it’s what the bench says, you do not want to exceed 4.25V.
Stupid, lovely, game.

Stupid game of course, but awesome tee shirt !
It actually looks great and 47 days is something to be very proud of, congrats Steve. Great video!
Thanks Vince, it's surprisingly playable! ❤
Seeing your post here I realised there hasn't been a MMV episode in 2 weeks... what's the deal?!? :)

D for Dave, of course. Can't forget about him.
The work was great, but I cannot express the anxiety I had with your phone just... hanging out under your soldering iron and the hot glue.
It's a Samsung phone. He is probably looking for any excuse to replace it, and gloopy solder on the screen is perfect.
Same here lol
@@Boogie_the_catSamsung phones are dope. It's only in the US that people have a weird obsession with boring, restrictive Fisher Pri...I mean iPhones.
Same. And the battery charger with its two live wires was right next to it too.

That is by far the best soldering i have ever seen you do, well done stez
Love it. At least we don't need to worry about a hundred's column yet. 👍
😂😂 not yet, and going off what I've been recording today, probably won't be for quite a long time! 😅
Your soldering on that usb-c port is better than factory, good work sir
Stupid factory.
Highly underrated UA-cam channel, should have 500k subscribers.

11:44 if I'm not mistaken you can use a polarizing filter in the camera to suppress glare and reflections. Nice video as always!
although, there's already a polarising filter on the multimeter to make the LCD work, so still might be tricky to see anything!

Watching a USB port replacement with a face melting 80s guitar solo has never been so relaxing
nice clean fix, your skills are increasing with every fix.
Every Episode is great but especially this one was lovely. So smooth and then the melted plastic twist ❤
You are getting better and better at soldering. Good job, Steve :)

Man... I love the music at 8,30... I was waiting for a fly over from Maverick ! 😂
Best video you've posted in a while. I have literally seen all of them and love them, but this one was really good!
Your end songs are the best thing on the internet.
Another great repair. Top soldering there too! Nice to see you using the iron. You’re not full of hot air after all 😂😂😂
What an Awesome video! Keep up the Great work!
Thank you! ❤
That was AWESOME! I was thoroughly invested! Defo keep it looks AMAZING and it has good games!
👍💕🙏 xx
@ 8:25 what the name of the tune playing please Stez
Those old Nokia batteries are good to use for solar homemade lights as they have their own built in protection circuit from over and under discharge.
Better and better at soldering, good work sir.
Love your vids! It's neat to see odd subjects, and the things you fix are pretty interesting as well!
Saturday night and I am happy like a child, when there is a new vid of a guy repairing a useless but nice thingy. 😂
Best wishes from Germany 👍
Yay! Nice fix! And D is for Dave of course!

I'd love one of those for the bathroom.
It's great to see the 5.1kohm pull down resistors on the CC lines. Proper USB charging.
HEllo Steve Your Blobs on the usb Soldering were just Amazing Good Job
Arcade as in Mega Drive games xD Great job, Steve!
Excellent fix. Shame the sound emulation's absolutely crap on that device.
Fantastic work as always.
Thanks TSL! ❤
I'm so proud of you when you're using flux to make things easier 😉
If I am not mistaken the marquee lights up as well. 🤙
you have the skill of a solderking. nice job sirs. the editing is choice too. A+ subbd.

Have you ever thought of doing a livestream repair? I think it would go over very well
I have an older model that has a micro usb port and uses the same battery type as a gba-sp. It's a cool little desk toy.
Nicely done Steve!
nice "totally not Goku" sticker! Great soldering!
Watching the solder flow and listening to raps, that remind me to Goldie Looking Chain. That's what i call qualitiy time.
Great work. Donatello yes sir!!!
Grab a Sharpie and make a line on the cable and board so you can match them up again later. I do it all the time.
Nice to see an easy fix ❤
Nice technique with the side stickers!
smooth. great video, Steve
Well done steve
wicking away solder is my favorite part
Steve please use an air filter or something to extract the solder fumes! It is really dangerous in the long run!
Yes Steve my prayers were answered where have you been missing the videos... vince has gone off the radar too.
I'm shocked you resurrected that battery. It must have a low-voltage cutoff, which is also surprising on such a cheap product.
Well done!

omg the nostalgia seeing you play TNMT

Am I the only one that after spending time watching Steve's channel can no longer say 'solid' in a normal voice?
I'm with ya!

Hi, can you share a link to the battery charging module?
What solder wick do you use?
Excellent fix, and you do while entertaining us
you are getting good at that soldering stuff :)
Maybe D for dumb on the cable? Thats in the stupid game range. And happy to see another stupid thing working.
😅 thanks Sorakat!
Very nice, Steve!
I have one ,and yes it is a Stupid good game , thanks Retro Robbins
That’s a canny selection of games there.

Well good Steve can u give me info on the box of usb parts u get them from
I need one of this hot snot gun thingys! Can you give us a link please?
I wonder if there is a way to attach a HDMI to this. I have one similar and it has some really good games on it.
I've got one of these somewhere, the games are Mega Drive roms rather than arcade games, oddly enough.
8 pounds for that was a STEAL, well done Stez!

Cool T-shirt!
Great fix. Was expecting another rubbish famicom clone so suprised to see megadrive on there
Speaking of mangled, the music in the TNMT games at the end was interesting. Poor emulation, but that's to be expected for a device like that.
I paired £50 for that game back in the day it was mint
I've got this little system. It's pretty cool. Nice to see you fix this with such ease.
There are NO TREES in BATTERIES......... LUV Your Vids!!!!
StezPlastix strikes again. 👍
That Genesis/Mega Drive sound emulation was brutal
