Everything you open up to work on, you should add write or a lable that says it was fixed by you and where to watch the repair video. A fun Easter egg for someone in the future.
Been watching your channel now for well over 2 years and you are absolutely my favourite fix it channel, always funny as well also the music you put on your videos is brilliant i love your choice of music, keep it coming 👍💯
I had one of these! Saved up my pocket money and got it from Argos. I recall Football was shit, minefield was utterly baffling and Invader was the only one I really played.... I eventually took it all apart (including carts) and knackered it..
Yep, I was taken in by this. Got it from Argos when I was about 11. Seconds of fun. The most enjoyment I got out of it was peeling all the stickers off in a vain attempt to make it look a bit less crap.

Loving the John Barnes Rap cover 🤣 didn't expect a cover of world in motion but quite glad we got it. Also thanks for all the vids, been watching you for a few months or so and it's inspired me to try to get into electronics and buy the tools and so on. Thanks again Steve and keep on making the great content... Peace! ✌️
"Another mans e-waste is another mans ... e-waste" - Jon Bringus. Probably last year ^^ Nevermind, I like to watch you repair something, Steve :) Greetings from Germany 😁
I have enjoyed watching you improve your skills since I found your channel some time ago and it inspires me to keep fixing and learning electronics. I've watched you struggle with corroded battery terminals and keep saying to myself that you should invest into nickel plating. I'm looking to do the same.
Remove the battery springs that have rust and put them in a cup of white vinegar for about 10 to 15 minutes and use a tooth brush to scrub them after the 10 to 15 minutes of them being in a cup of vinegar to get remove remaining rust this technique works really well
Oh, he knows about doing that, he's done it before. In this case, he had the replacement springs from a previous repair, so it makes more sense to just replace them.
I remember a cousin having a gameboy and i absolutely loved it for the 2 days or so he loaned it to me.. I nagged and nagged my parents for a gameboy that christmas and i got this PoS thing instead. The disappointment I had was unreal 😂😂
I'm guessing that the games themselves are the cartridge things with the LCD screens and all that the machine is doing is providing power, controls for the games and sound output. Sort of like the hitclips did.
Ah, the competitor to the Game and Watch, it's the "Game and Nothing Else" I hear it was really popular with dentist's offices and minimalist street performers whose hurdy-gurdy's were in the repair shop.
I have a talkboy from home alone that doesn’t work, maybe needs a new belt. I bought some belts but have no desire to open it as I don’t wanna break it, would you be interested in helping a brother out?
On vacations which involved 7+ hours of driving to get to the destination, my parents got me and my brother LCD games. I loved them. Nowadays, I don’t feel much nostalgia for them, mainly because almost all the games are rubbish. I mean stupid.
Nice fix! You're lucky you didn't fry it when you connected the bench supply with the wrong polarity as most cheap electronics has no protection for such abuse.
Hello Steven, Is there any way to message you directly? I have a question regarding a repair of an Orient digital lcd watch..by the way greetings from Australia, I love your videos, I’m a bit of a watch repair guy and I collect lcd and led watches. Best regards, Slav.
Strange to use Dixie Land as the opening tune in every game. The novelty factor made these popular. Once you had a go on one for a few times, it was not very interesting anymore. I think my son had captain scarlet on a hand held and lost interest very quickly. This cartridge with a screen system must have made the cartridges expensive.
Interesting choice of music for their games start sound. Know what makes me think of European Soccer? An 1859 American Confederate Civil War Anthem! 😂😂
Great repair and video! God bless you and yours. Praying for you! Keep up the excellent work. All the best! If there os anything I can help you pray for I would be happy to!
Very nice indeed! Dr. Ashens would be both impressed (at your repair) and deeply worried (that yet another pop stations exists) 😁

I never seen cartridges with a screen, so cool
Nice surprise for a Wednesday night! Great videos Steve!
Lol "Soccer."
Thank you, Steve. As an American, I find your American accent very endearing.
Soccer is a British term... It is not an American word lol

I thought that, too

Very cool! I would think having a screen on each game would be too expensive to manufacture. SOLID.
Thanks for the entertainment Steve; always a joy!

Your videos gave me the confidence to hard mod my Switch with a modchip.
Shock horror! No rap!!!! Great video mind

I had a Quickshot Supervision, it was bloody brill.
Stez I have seen you fix up some junk but this may take the cake. Great work!
I can see why you bought this. A really interesting design choice for the screens to be integrated into the carts instead of the cart player
I had this! Spent hours playing Mine Field back in the day.
I got a feeling the is a cold joint on the cart pins to board area
Nicely done Steve!
Never seen the cartridge with the screen on nice little video 😊
'like a game boy but worse' I would love honest marketing like this 😂
Great fix Steve thanks for sharing 😊
Hi Steve could you possibly look at my bose tonematch mixer please power intermittent
The 80s synthpop music on the videos these days is great.
Royalty free usually by Epidemic Sounds
Yeah, I agree. As I get older, the more I love that sound.
Two videos in a week, couldn't be happier.
Huh? His last video was 11 days ago. Wtf are you talking about?
@@temporaryscars he has more than one channel
@@temporaryscarsit also could be that in a Patreon so I saw something early and didn't realize.
I think we all had those types of portable games, but I hadn't seen a cartridge with a screen.
When he took it apart I was like-Where's the screen? Oh.
Love your videos! Keep it up!

Yeah I've seen this on a restoration channel. I've also seen the creamy plastic improved to a more aestheticly pleasing colour.
Oh, he knows about doing that, he's done it before. In this case, he had the replacement springs from a previous repair, so it makes more sense to just replace them.
Would like to see more you upgrade the old devices by upgrading or adding more components. Upcycling.

Love the videos, particularly the retro consoles.
Ever repaired a DS Lite?
StezStix - World in Motion 2024 needs to be made for the Euros 😂
Nice one, Steve! 👍
Hey Steve, looks good! Have you ever thought about cleaning the plastic / bleaching the plastic back to its original state with H2O2?
I love seeing things come back as white as sheets after this has been done
Retrobrighting. With UV lighting.
H2O2 and UV
Was its default song Dixie? Interesting choice
How did they swith the red and black wires..... Especially if they knew enough how to take them off in the first place
Mom, can I have a game boy? No, we have a game boy at home 😂
😄
I had this as a kid. Part of me wishes I still had one even though it was a bit garbage 😅
I think Dave is tampering with your Magic pointy finger. No link in the corner😂
Nice.
Oh wow I had this as a kid before I had a Gameboy! Memories unlocked! Got to end and realised you did have invader 😂
A welcome return to VOS outro raps!
I use to have one of these with a power ranger theme as a kid.
Ah, the competitor to the Game and Watch, it's the "Game and Nothing Else"

Why does the start up jingle sound like Dixie?
Lucky surviving the reverse-polarity power connection (1:01).
Wow. The display is in the game cartridge.
Nice

But did you melt the plastic when soldering the wire to the battery contacts? 😅
The outro should have clearly been the england song from the Mike Bassett film.
Interesting videos. What's the hamsters name please 😀
Thought I would share I be wearing my punk Exploited t shirt, saw them Woolwich polytechnic and 100 Club a few times :)
Good vid. Great music. Better.
Yay! New videos are awesome
does anyone know what video to search for to learn about dave's origin? 🙂
I spit out my drink when I heard the uh, song at the end.
There's nothing like refurbing some good old fashioned e-waste. 😆
greetings from México!

5:35 best quote how can you die in football
the song of the 90's
The making of the next England manager me thinks.
The LCD is in the game cart wtf?
Yeah it's like a Tiger Gameboy
Imagine asking for a Gameboy for Christmas in the early 90s and getting one of these instead.........you would definitely be annoyed!
P.S. Love the 1980's style music when you're working on stuff.

Stez!! Where are you???
I still have my Original Gameboy Colour and an Atari Linx with games for both. Sadly i do not have my Sega Game Gear anymore :(
2:41 you shouldn't vape in the studio Steve 😂
@2:52 Technically it was melting the plastic :D
polarity ma dude!! :)

Neg and pos is backwards. I spotted it right away.
Spot on …. I for one hope Steve contacts the manufacturers to ensure they recall and correct those misleading wires 👍😀
do you fix viewer stuff? I have some laser levels that need repairing!
Wot no rap section? But that's your trademark! Odd design of game with each cartridge having a screen.
"how do you die in football?" 🤣😂
3:14 I'm sure there's an animal called a balm.
I had one of these as a kid haha
I love those old knock off LCD games.
Second time I have seen reversed polarity colors. First time was in a China-produced Conic TG-621.
So strange it starts with "I Wish I Was in Dixie"
Steve! Please clean your rubber work mat. It's so dirty!
I know there is a certain movement for saving these games for preservation and nostalgia, but they really were landfill even when brand new 😂
Where were you on Saturday? It's tronixfix on Friday then you on Saturday
As a viewer I care more about you having that fume scrubber on then being able to hear you. Lead fumes aren't safe dude. 😊
I do enjoy watching you get your butt kicked by "stupid games" LOL.
