  • I launched my Hobie Outback in fast current in the Chattahoochee River. I used 2 trolling motors to try to get upstream to the dam. After about 8 minutes I only made it 100 yards or so upstream. I tried moving to the edge out of the main current but I hit bottom knocking one of my motors off.
I'm using a Watersnake T-24 trolling motor mounted in the Mirage Drive well and a Minn-Kota Endura C2 30 trolling motor hanging on the side in a rod holder.

Cool. Do you use 2 batteries? Surely one wouldn't last long?

Yes, each trolling motor had 48 amp-hour batteries.

Yes, about 65 lbs. for the batteries. Just for this experiment - not every trip for sure.
