How does this guy only have 6.5k subs? That video was so well done.
I just want to say thank you for the excellent service. Im new to your site but placed two orders and so far everything has been super. Your prices cannot be beat.
Love the shaft length wink, lol
Great video to introduce a novice like me to the various trolling motors and systems out there.
You guys have bailed me out of having to buy a whole new motor twice so far this year, thank you
Amazing video, very informational for a guy that knows nothing about trolling. Thanks for this video!!!
My first time watching this video and I learned a lot. Thank you so much!!!! Great job 👍👍👍
Man this was an AWESOME getting started guide!!! Before watching this video I knew NOTHING now I have. a decent base and I'm excited to learn more!
good job, simple and easy to understand
Awesome video thank you!
short and too the point. much appreciated.
Thanks for the info, salute 🫡 from NYC fishing 🎣
Informative. Well done👍🙂🎣
Thanks, very informative :)
Nice work, thanks. Subbed.
That shaft length…made me chuckle!
Nice to learn about brushless.
Awesome explanations and very helpful. I have a Minn kota riptide and a Torqeedo. The Torqueedo is quite noisy with a hum I put down to the brushless motor electronics. The Minn Kota is quiet in comparison. I use my motors on a canadian canoe and an island style outrigger. Is it a case that some brushless motors are quieter than others ?
Great video !
Thanks wry much
Great helped a lot
@4:15 Great video and props for keeping a straight face, I know I didn't. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I Completely appreciate the "Just the facts, Ma'm" presentation. I watched a Castnet video this morning where the guy repeats himself for 2 minutes before he gets into the meat of the presentation...which is why I watch most of UA-cam on double-speed. I'm here today because I'm wondering if a trolling motor would be a good emergency motor for my 23 foot cuddy cabin instead of another gas engine.
Awesome! 👍🏻
Love my brushless haswing protruar
excellent, right to the point very informative.
Great video I have a minn kotta edge 45 lb on my boat I bought it’s used anyway when I go to stow the lower unit doesn’t rotate to stow I have to turn it with foot control my other one rotated why is this one not.
good video, was wondering we mainly fish a electric motor only lake. I have a older 15 ft aluminum boat. But I put a floor, a front deck and bass seats so it is heavier now. I run two 40lb thrust and it only does about 3 mph which isn't bad with 3 people in the boat. Would a 60lb knock off out perform a 55lb minnkota? looking to get a little more speed out of it lol. or would the two 40lb motors out perform one 55lb motor? we go about a mile or so from the boat ramp,
Trying to stay with a 12 volt system even though I have 2 batteries at all times.
Thanks a bunch
William
Awasome Information
You mentioned a link to a detailed video when choosing trolling motor shaft link. I don't see it. Can you link us up?
I need a saltwater trolling motor with a spot lock feature.
I fish in wind a lot and in places with lots of current.
I currently have a Minn kota 24 volt on the bow, it’s a hand handle one and it’s fault annoying while fishing.
Also my batteries will last me 3 hours max when fishing on a windy day.
I may get some lithium batteries first just to see if I need to upgrade to a 36 volt for the future new trolling motor.
I would appreciate some knowledge with people who own a boat approximately 3000 pounds plus and on 19 plus feet bay boat Center Console 🙏🏻🎣😎
Great video and info. But...I have read many posts of people talking thrust lb and speed. So, is it true more thrust on the same weight boat will NOT go faster??
Thank you
so is there a Q&A site? My reset switch is getting tooo hot to touch and my linkage broke in my motor? IAm trying to find a new motor for my boat and hot sure what to buy
Would you do a review of cheaper end trolling motors like water snake and other unknown brands
I have a Colorado pontoon boat looking for a transom mount. I heard I should go with 36" and add a PMW controller?
I have a Lowrance Elite FS 9" screen I am looking for a good trolling motor for this unit that will spot loc. It would also be great if trolling motor could handle salt water. My boat is a 22' Aluminum Starcraft CC Marine with a 115 4 cycle Merc. What would you recommend or suggest for a trolling motor??
Hello, i have a specific need but i don't know if that technology exists. Can the motor follow a moving target and keep a constant distance between itself and said target, let's say 60 feet away from it?
I do spearfishing and sometimes we do some drifts along a reef. It would be really useful if the boat could follow us while we are drifting in the water, maybe with a device (gps transmitter) on a float that the motor can pin point and follow, or on someone on the surface.
Does that exist? It could also be a great safety option when a sailor falls in the water
I have a 17' Blue Water closed bow, stern drive. 2200#, I would like to add an electric trolling motor. Which do you recommend? I will be putting on a fold down bracket.
Thanks
When will minn kota has brushless trolling? Any idea?
I have a question, I've seen 40lb trolling motors with different draw, one said 40a and the other one had 34a, is it a typo or is the second one more efficient? I'm using one as the sole provider of movement on a 12ft aluminum with 2 adults and gear. In total it weighs in at about 655 loaded, my 40lb troller is about 14 years old I was thinking about giving the more efficient one a go. Thanks for any responses to that mess of a post.
Thumb Up!
Will a high-thrust transom motor jack knife a 14-foot aluminum boat even if set to the slowest speed, I need the higher trust for my river fishing, but I also need a slow speed for casting and trolling in lakes I just don't want to go airborne.
Great video ! Concise and very informative. Do you have any inside information if Minn-Kota will be offering the Terrova with a 36” shaft for kayaks?
I just installed the MotorGuide Xi3 on my kayak and it seems their missing a lot of sales because guys don’t want to alter the shaft length.
Thanks
You are so right. I’m currently holding off on purchasing the MotorGuide Xi3-55SW - Bow Mount Trolling Motor - Wireless Control - GPS - 55lb because they don’t have te 36” version for kayaks. They have it in 48” but cutting it will void the warranty. If they were smart, they’d have realized they are losing customers.
Also, their customer service is HORRIBLY TERRIBLE. They never answer their phone.
I was hoping for a recommendation... I'm just a simple bass fisherman. But, I do want to take advantage of the Spot-lock, and i-Pilot features. I just don't need a 12" chartplotter at each end of the boat. Right now, there are so many options, it's incredibly difficult to know what to pick, and to make sure I'm getting everything I need. That said, the cheapest setup that gives me those capabilities. Anyone in the know is welcome to answer. I'll need to have that figured out before I pick up my lithium battery upgrades.
I have a 16 foot john boat , the total weight after everything said and done is about 1500 pounds, what motor should I be using
What you think of Intex model 68631 model
Is it a good Trolling Motor???
Please reply 🙏🏻
Where can you buy the conversation kit
Can you give me the names of websites of trusted dealers to buy a minnkota riptide from ... thanks
Explain why motors with gears would be less efficient. What is the technical inefficiency they have that others don't?
Very helpful thank you so much!!! Would love your input on Solar Panels as alternative power (obviously would need to use 2 parallel motors correct?) Depending on wind, weight, chop, boat size, etc... Thanks from Newport Vessels!
I'm not a pro here but I know enough about solar power to know solar alone would not power a boat unless you had a humongous array. It could be helpful for recharging a battery for sure. For the same reasons we don't use solar to power a car it alone could not consistently power a boat.
Hey guys, thanks for the great videos! My boat unfortunately works with a 12V system and i need at least 70+ LBS thrust motor. What would you guys recommend me buying?!
Buy a 24v lithium battery if you don't have a place for 2 trolling batteries
When you buy a trolling motor how much play is in the shaft for adjustment? I assume being too short is worse than being too long? (no pun intended).
Is the xi5 a good 1? I've seen alot of bad reviews?
Hi! I've been watching your repair videos, all great thanks, but I don't see a fix for my problem. I have a Motor Guide Wireless 55lb thrust (no GPS) that worked fine 2 weeks ago with fresh batteries in the control pedal and a new deep cycle battery. Now when I plug the motor in....it automatically starts spinning (fast) and will not stop unless I unplug it.....help! (please).
I would bet the foot pedal is faulty, it happened to me! I pulled the batteries from the foot pedal remote and mine worked again! Hand remote only now but I didn't like that pedal anyway!
Funny dude but true words
Have a minn kota fortrex 112 with the built in transducer, it plugs into the hummingbird graphs but I want/will be switching to the garmin 93 or 106 sv uhd's. Do these plug directly in or is there an adapter I can purchase with the graph. Thanks.
If it has US2, you can get an adapter that will plug into the Garmin for sonar. For UHD ClearVu or SideVu, you would have to install the Garmin Transducer on the outside of the motor.
Who makes a transom mount trolling motor with spot lock?
Witch is fast 12v or 24v troll motor
Hello Rob. Here is a scenario, an motor on a boat or a kayak, no other gps mounted, just the motor itself. Can be used on this motor the spot-lock option in this case? If yes, can you please recomand me a motor for a 13 feet kayak. Thank you very much for your answear.
The MotorGuide Xi3 with Pinpoint GPS and the Minn Kota PowerDrive with I-Pilot are both popular on kayaks. Both of them have spot lock built in and don’t have to be linked to a graph.
@@trollingmotorparts thank you very much!
Can it pull a 2500 lbs boat?
👍🏼👍🏼
Due to digital commutation noise a lot of brushless motors are much nosier than brushed motors. So saying brushless are quieter may not be correct in many cases,
Thanks for the input. Can’t really speak for all brushless motors, but as far as trolling motors go. We’ve tested all the models and brushless are significantly quieter.
Which version of PowerDrive do you sell on your website? Is it V2? I need 12v 45# thrust 48" shaft. I want to upgrade to I Pilot but need to confirm which model ya'll sell. I emailed you ...let me know and be safe out there.
We carry the Bluetooth Models.
do you know of any 2022 models coming out before summer?
Can’t really talk about specific dates or models, but there are a couple new ones coming soon!
Can you say which brand? I'm in the marked for a new trolling motor this spring and is/was going for a Minn Kota Terrova 54" 12v. Would you say i could be missing out some new features at that price range?
@@larsmrk5803 minnkota
haha... long shaft vs. shorty epic funny
14 is the best
Hahaha. Always better to have too long a shaft! Well, that’s what my friends tell me. 🤣🤣🤣
That's the very thing that i thought when i heard that!! lol
Need one for gheenoe
Isn’t it always the case that having too long of a shaft is better than too short of a shaft.
JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU SO MUCH!
Man you’re way too good looking for me to pay attention to the info. Yall should get someone mid cus this guys distracting.
I found this video, absolutely useless. What about if you’re using one for just the sole propulsion of the boat
Why can't I get more than an hour of use out of my Minn Kota 70 ...24V ( came with boat )?? Fully charges after EVERY outing. Usually set on 7 for trolling.... 1.8 - 2.0 mph.....20 ft. TriToon.....engine up.... NEW batteries. VERY FRUSTRATING !!
