The Chattahoochee River is 811 feet deep just below the dam. Saw this in Wikipedia and other sources. That is astounding, seeing as so much of the river isn't that deep. It is 300 feet deep in the Providence Canyon area, just south of Columbus, Ga. That's much deeper than the Mississippi at New Orleans, which has a 200 feet depth.
You can look up bacteria levels online. Essentially everything South of 400 has high e-coli which comes from a tributary in Sandy Springs. So a few mile north of the damn dam and it’s not a problem.
@@benv4925 Got it. We just kayak mainly when on the water, but see people fishing all the time. We just did a small patch from Morgan Falls to Paces Mill and saw a bald eagle in this area. There is a ton of places to explore on my channel that might interest you. Would love to hear your feedback! Cheers
Great videography. I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Glad you enjoyed it! I enjoy sharing the adventure.
Morgan Falls to Johnson Ferry is awesome to Kayak! We saw a Bald Eagle fly overhead last weekend and it was awesome. Plenty of Blue Herons there too!
It’s a great float!
BTW that dam area you were fishing was bad ass looking! Would love to fish there, we dont have anything like that in Southern California.
you can catch giant stripers there
I live in the other side of the river. Nothing like a short walk to fish in the middle of a city.
Morgan Falls on the Hooch
Good stuff. What song is this?
How deep is it around Morgan falls dam? I was trying to figure out if I could put my bass boat in there just around the dam area

Do you eat the fish? Love the Chattahoochee, but not sure I want to eat the trout. Just subbed!
