- If you are looking for an extended kayaking trip on the Chattahoochee River, Morgan Falls Dam To Paces Mill Is It! This kayak trip is approximately 8 miles. The first five miles are calm waters. From Cochran Shoals to Paces Mill, there is some rapids that will require some attention to detail while navigating the waters.

Just got a kayak. I've done Cochran Shoals to Paces Mill many times in a tube but I'm excited to start at Morgan Falls now!
I have seen Eagles and all kinds of wildlife from Morgan falls to Johnson Ferry. Most of the time, you will only see a few people out there. Hope you have fun out there!

Hey man! We have done powers ferry to paces mill many times. Is it very calm and safe to launch from Morgan falls or Johnson ferry?
Phil Ross 100% Unless there is a scheduled release. My wife and I have done this section multiple times and there has been light traffic and a lot of wildlife like blue herons, river otters and nice stretches of calm water. Great addition to the trip.

@@philross5955 Not sure, but when you pull into Morgan Falls, you need to turn left to go towards the dam. There is a parking area with plenty of spots, but you should come early to avoid crowds later in the day.
