Me, a Chinese fellow and an old bloke who looked like Mr Burns from the Simpsons. Don't know what was wrong with him but breaking wind was the symptoms. No one visited him or called him, he seemed quite lost to me. As well as wind problems, he had a colostomy. When I left, I said see you to the old man. Turned out the other fellow wasn't Chinese. He was from Japan.
The Babadook i like to thing the symmetry between the man who's symptoms were gas but didnt know what he had, was like saying a man looks Chinese. But what Karl didn't know was what was truly wrong with him, whereas he found out the Chinese man was from Japan. Almost like saying, he looked like he was fine 'just farting' but could there have been something else Karl didn't know about: he had no visitors so possibly no family, he looked lost so maybe he was towards the end of his life not knowing what to do. Karl maybe left the poem unfinished as a symbolic representation of how the old man's story felt unfinished: maybe he had cancer all along or irritable bowel syndrome. Maybe he had dementia: he thought he was Chinese but he was actually from Japan. Lots of ways to interpret Karl's poem
I love how Ricky is laughing at Karl for not knowing what the Roswell incident was, and then when Steve thinks Ricky is going to reveal what it was actually called and he didn’t even know himself.
Hey no shit, simple procedures are still nothing to laugh at. Had a stint put in when I had a kidney stone and during the operation my blood pressure dropped so low they had to pull me out of anesthesia. Woke up with a doctor pulling a catheter out of my right jugular.... it was pretty frightening.
Man, Ricky Gervais is probably my least favorite part about the show. Like his laughs are nice, and I guess he does get Karl to elaborate on his view of the world, but he's way too quick to just shit on and shut down everything that Karl says, even when Karl's right. Like dude, he doesn't literally think that the monkey is there as a tollbooth operator for the bridge, Karl said the monkey being there felt like he was taking tolls from tourists.
How do you think they made this show if the podcast wasn't recorded?? One episode is an entire session, I think it was like a 30 minute thing, but don't quote me on that.
Just Enjoy it and don't worry about it, if it's an act, he's the best actor comedian the world had ever known, or he just knows how to play up to what makes him funny

I always thought the final "I never found out what was up with him" was the last line of the poem.

Ricky may have waited 6 months to fart on Karl but that old guy waited 90 years

This guy is right. There's a risk of death with any general anaesthesia.

It's obvious that he's at least if not smarter than Ricky . I can hardly watch these with how fake Karl's act gets and how "angry" Ricky gets lol

Ricky is so ignorant
