What got me into Maiden was the bassist Steve Harris. I love how the bass is so prevalent in all their songs. The majority of their songs tells some story like history and it's so melodic. The song Alexander the Great is simply amazing.
Bruce I believe cut his hair when he became a pilot for an airlines in his off time. For this tour and all the ones after this, he piloted their tours. There are some really good youtube video's from news stations and a documentary covering it.
According to Bruce in an interview a couple of years ago. He was a full time pilot and took unpaid leave from them when Maiden toured. He was also a Captain and pilot trainer. He also wasn't the first pilot in Maiden, Nicko was. Bruce tells a hilarious story about it.
You should eventually do the lyric version of this song so you can follow the story, but I would go To Tame A Land next. Another epic track that is super atmospheric like this song:)
Only 2 min. into this reaction but I have to say that the only way to properly judge a band and especially a live performance is to have the lyrics visible. In Maiden's case, it's what distances them from so many other bands. The words are so relevant to any song deserving of serious review.
Sorry, didn't mean visible to everyone. The live version of Maiden songs is equal to or better than studio 95% of the time, and some video recordings have the lyrics overlaid, which is always a bonus.@@LilmannReacts
The Lead singer is a licensed commercial airline pilot for British Airways >Before during and after this tour along with flying the band's plane e was still flying for British Airways so he had to keep his hair respectable for that position but Bruce was never one to have the real long hair like the others the longest his was is just past the shoulders at most.
Dude, why would you watch the video for the song 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' and not watch the original live version first, the video version that you watched sucks, it just terrible compared to the original Live 1985 version, back when Bruce's voice was at its best. You can really hear his opera like voice come out. The same goes with the song 'Hallowed Be Thy Name', why you listen to the studio version it doesn't even compare to the 1982 Live version from Hammersmith, pay attention to the long note in beginning of song and the 2 at the end, 'Epic'. I will leave links to both songs below. *Must Watch*...Always watch old Iron Maiden videos first and build your way up to the new stuff because the old is the best. My favorite song from the power slave album ever since I was a kid
You should really do the studio version also, that way you really get a grip on the song🪓🤡❤️🪓
He looked like them when they were much younger

Lyrics are great from maiden especially aesthetically, emotionally and artistically, but Music and its transitions are what catch my interest first!

in the 80s, he had them almost up to his waist
He's also a world class fencer, trained opera singer as well as a commercial pilot. And, he can drive a T-34 tank.
