And how come I did see a variety of ages... 🤔 Now it’s all falling to place ... and I can’t believe all of the art work, time, devotion! and skill! that goes into this!! It’s just amazing!! Thankyou again for your time and comment!!
@@KristinKali And I love Iron Maiden because many of their songs are beautiful melodic guitar-sound AAND,the drummer Nicko,is a very good friend with our Entertainer Lars Berghagen :-) They met on a golf-track day after a gig here in Stockholm & became friends right away :-) :-)
@@KristinKali There is at least one straight up documentary about the band and how hard it was to just get going. If it weren't for Steve Harris' desire and willpower, there wouldn't be an Iron Maiden.
In the show in Puerto Rico Steve's bass went out in Heaven Cant Wait so he finished the concert with his old blue with cracks P Bass but for the DVD they re-edited so in the song Moonchild you see Steve turning his back to the public so he can cover the blue bass and the rest of his shots were from another show
Been listening to Iron maiden since i was 4 years old My dad brought Me to see them Live in Toronto in 2002 when i was 13 years old still the Best Show i ever seen!!!!!!! Steve Harris is the Best Bass Player in the World and Bruce is Amazing Singer!!!!!!!!!!!!
Iron Maiden is a phenomenal band. They have always been a precision band. On stage, they always sound just like their albums. They have actually been around since the late 70's. They got popular in the U.S. in the early 80's. They originally had only 2 guitarists. One left for a while and they obviously got a substitute. Then he came back and the sub is still with them, making 3 guitarists. This line up has been together since 1999. The singer had left for a solo career, then came back in 99. He has always been very active on stage. He is also a world-class fencer and commercial pilot. He flies their Boeing 747 on tour. He also overcame throat cancer about 5 years ago. The bassist always sings along while playing. There are songs where one of the guitarists will jump up and down while playing. I've seen them 4 times and will be seeing them again in 18 days. They are my all-time favorite band.
This is my favorite Iron Maiden song. Bruce Dickinson can take each song and turn it into a great adventure. Never a dull moment with this band. Thank you for the reaction!!
Bruce Dickinson has a background in Iron Maiden... Lol!!! Seen this live in Nov. of '84, Twisted Sister opened for them, it was an amazing show for sure. Seen them again in '88 with Guns n' Roses and again in 92 with Queensryche and Rob Halford...
Awesome, 1st time visiting, usually follow Jamel but this has been one of my top 5 favorite song since the 80s. Saw Power Slave 3 times in one week. The song is based on a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, written in 1797. And Iron Maiden has always had an Egyptian theme. Eddie {the mummy }is their mascot
Bruce is amazing he's a pilot too. There all still humble guys and don't see themself as famous even after selling 100 million albums without hardly any radio play. They love there fans and the fans love them back...
Their stage show has evolved over the decades! Iron Maiden has aged better than a fine wine!!!🤘🤘🤘 You should see their current stage production, it’s over the top!!
Bruce is amazing. Not only his voice, but the man is brilliant. I'm glad you are reacting to maiden, live. They are one of the best live bands, ever. Their live performances have so much soul. Try Fear of the Dark, live in Rio. That will show you what maiden fans are like. Lol.
As many others have commented, the singer Bruce is an incredible force of nature. His CV reads more like that of 10 people. Lead singer, song writer, solo artist, captain on Boeing 737, 757 and 747. Radio presenter, tv presenter, author and novellist, film writer. He has done some acting and played the main character in an episode of the Paradise Club back in the early 90's on tv in the UK. He is a motivational speaker, owns an aircraft maintenance company. He was ranked no. 4 in the UK at fencing. He developed Maidens own beer called Trooper. He was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in 2015 with a golf ball size tumour at the base of his tongue and a slightly smaller secondary tumour. He was determined to beat the disease and the recovery period recommended by his doctor, which he did and he was back on the road with maiden in 2016. Fun fact, he was expelled from school for urinating in his head masters dinner! Feel free to do more maiden, perhaps try When the Wild Wind Blows - live. Cheers.
While listening to this song I got caught somewhere in time, fell into a temporary cosmic rift and was sucked into a parallel universe, only to emerge back on earth for me to realize that, I'm not a number but a free man and I can live my life where I want to.
This is an excelent choice, madam. A song that is a real trademark of the institution called Iron Maiden. For me the number one. Keep up with IM, you experience a great journey with this band.
Iron maiden is uniquely special. Bruce is a God and my respect to them is the constant high standard they keep releasing. 40 years later and they have kept their musical standard very high. One of the very few bands that have gotten better, sweeter, musically more in depth, and stayed true to their sound over time. It's rare in any style or genre of music.
You should shortly read on Wikipedia about Mr Bruce Dickinson, how multiskilled person he is. Lead singer of one the most popular metal band. Pilot of the commercial plane, successful enterpreneur of his own worldwide company of air cargo, speaker on management topics, swordsman of UK and others...yes, unbelievable for one life.
Hello I love seeing the expressions on people’s faces that have never seen or heard maiden. I’ve been a fan of them since 1979. Seen them 7 times in concert. Steve Harris is the best bass player.
Iron Maiden is speed metal, but is also nerd metal. Their songs are musical book reports, and they kick ass. The geekiest historian and the hardest biker can sit in a bar pounding drinks and discuss Alexander the Great because of Iron Maiden.
You had to be there during the original World Slavery Tour in the 80's. Hearing live for the first time was incredible. And they still got it. Greatest live band ever.
Epic group, Epic song, Epic reaction, Iron maiden will always live in our hearts and minds as they promised, that they would play their songs until they ran out of strength for respect and gratitude to all their fans around the world.
I don’t know how old you are but this is what the youth of today missed out on in the 80’s. The very first time I saw Iron Maiden was July/1983 Hemisfair Arena San Antonio, Texas
You really need to be inside of a large arena with 20,000 fans during the middle part of the song when they all starting singing the lyrics in unison... It will give you goosebumps, it's an unreal experience!
Bruce Dickinson, singer, pilot, philosopher, hes made beer...and was the captain of the british team of esgrima in the Oimpic Games Barcelona 1992. ! my metal hero!
Kristin I saw Iron Maiden in 1988 in Kansas City at Kemper Arena...The Rhime of the Ancient Mariner is Real!!!...So cool to see them live..Love your eyes and reactions..Your friend Dave from Topeka Kansas..the Capitol city of Kansas..We are 60 miles west of Kansas city and the Kansas city Chiefs football!!
The comparison you made with Nightwish makes sense to me. I feel the same kind of chemistry between the band members, the fun they have on stage really shows ! And btw, Steve Harris (Bassist/Main composer/Founder of Maiden) is a Nightwish/Tuomas fan (NW opened for Maiden few years ago)
SUBBED ! Your reaction literally brought a tear to my eye because your reaction was similar to my own the first time I heard them 40yrs ago, as well as by sons, which explains all the different generations in all their crowds... Maiden are truly in a league all their own ! I didn’t read all the comments but in case it wasn’t mentioned, YOU MUST react to to Hallowed be thy Name (live/1982)... up the Irons !
Iron Maiden easily passed the test of time. They are class musicians and they always sail there own chosen course. I'm fan for over 30 years of them, have seen them live and always great shows. They are the undisputed 'Masters of (heavy) Metal'. I like your reactions and how you are amazed by them. Welcome to the Maiden family. Enjoy your Maiden journey. Some other songs worth while are: Caught some where in time, Phanthom of the opera, Aces high, the Clansman just a few. There are plenty more. Up the Irons \m/
I would say, the one thing I can tell you about Iron Maiden is that all their songs tell a story, which is why they come off as so theatrical. That is why I believe they are legendary. And here is the funny thing, these guys are now all in their 60's, and the amount of energy they have, especially Bruce is unreal. That is why these guys can pack a stadium with 100,000 people, young or old, it doesn't matter even though no radio stations playing their music.
These chaps are all multi-millionaires, they dont do this for money they absolutely love playing there music, and the fans know it. Maiden never let you down they give 100% every time. Maiden fan since 88. Best band on earth by a fuckin mile!! UP THE IRONS 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
52y/o here. I've been to several Maiden concerts and have watched several others on video when I came back from many deployments. I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems like as they've aged Maiden (as a whole) seem to be enjoying themselves a lot more than when they did when they were very young and still in their prime. They just seem like they're so much more comfortable performing while having a blast than when they did when they had the competition of other metal bands to contend with. I don't know. Maybe I'm crazy but it just seems like that.
Iron Maiden is the band of my life. But I didn't give you Sub by old masters. Only by The Warning. I am over 40 years old. I heard everything The Warning is a revelation. They are amazing
We used to get laughed at by the disco crowd back then. Who's laughing now. Awesome band for the past 40 years and your reaction is real. Great bands and their music will do that. Cool video. 👍👏
Dickinson IS a wunderkind...frankly. Great voice after some 40+ years of singing, and a helluva showman...and with a band like that backing you up...you can't lose!!
All that energy and show, and you realize that these guys are in their 60's. Not only does he sing, but he is also a licensed airline pilot. Bruce helps fly their jet, Edforce One on tour. He is also a highly skilled fencer.
Maiden has always had a foot on theatral performance, mostly because of Steve and Bruce, but they are more theatrical then ever nowadays. Their most recent gig was on Rock In Rio rhis year, as part of the second leg of the Legacy Of The Beast Tour, and man, they really put up a real show. The Tour has it's way in three acts, eache one with it's own theme, and for each of them - which goes to certain music to another on the set list - , there's a change of scenario, change of clothes (mostly for Bruce), pyro shows, props and much more. You should really go see them live.
hey its me again, love Maiden since 1988 omg i feel old, last time i seen them was in 2018 in Arnhem the Netherlands great show great audience lots of coppers but after 30 min they noticed hmmm just fans no problems like a houseparty :O
The singer is Bruce - the almighty - Dickinson. Love your reaction. Felt the same when i first listened to that song 35 years ago. Man... i'm old ! (sigh)
Bruce would love your compliment! He studied prog theater bands and acted a little. But lives the music more so. Be has a creative mind, is a pilot, a writer so you're right when he has to get this fire out! He must Express for he is a Leo. Channeling anger or passion this way.
Cook moore 👊❤️Wow Cook! Thankyou so very much for telling me your thoughts and helping me to understand more about Bruce 😊 I just went with what I saw here 😳
While quotes from the poem are spread about ("...as Idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean.") That entire verse is lifted straight from Coleridge. Oh! and about 12 bars before the gong, there was a mess-up with Smith's guitar...he just covered it beautifully!
The eye on the bass player,Steve Harris,s T shirt (also the man that started Iron Maiden in 1975 & has written most of the songs, Is from the Album POWERSLAVE..(theme Egypt)..as you notised on the bassdrum. If you wanna listen to a beautiful song, look at Blood Brothers.LIVE..:-)
I´m 51 & me & my school-friend has seen Maiden LIVE for over 20 yrs,it´s a "people-party" & the tickets are/gets soldout in a few hrs..& I love that Nicko, the drummer ,calls his set "this little baby",about each symbole..Steve choosed Nicko instead in 1982,when the drummer before ,never could stay sober before a gig, while Nicko was a party guy,BUT wanted to show "how good he is" & always came/showed up sober to a gig..and since 2 yrs back ? he is "A new born Christian".
As an English teacher, I had the odd experience of one of my students bringing this into class when we were doing a block on English poetry (this is based on a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge)... an odd experience because that was exactly what I did to MY English teacher many years before!!! The students were like, "You've heard this before?" ... bless their hearts. "Kids, I've been listening to Iron Maiden for longer than you've been alive, which either makes you very young or me very old..."
Brilliant song , he also is 4 stripe airline pilot in his spare time !!!!!!!! . He flew into brisbane on his own 747 jumbo about 4-5 years ago on his world tour ...
If you ever have a chance to see Iron Maiden live, you should. Those fans might seem a little intimidating (some) but believe me, Maiden has some of the best fans in the world, friendly, helpful and just a joy to be around. Many Maiden fans from day one, are still going to concerts, eventually they took their kids to shows too, who now in turn are taking their kids to maiden shows and so on. Thats why there is more a family atmosphere among the Maiden crowd. I already said, is possible, see them live, but there is a bigger if attached to that, IF they again tour with their most loved classic set, like the flight 666 tour was (its a revisit to the 1984 show, that was recorded and became the best selling album "Live after Death" double album (vinyl baby, yeah!!) So if there is a chance to see that show again (and there will be) then even if you have to go 2 states over to see them, you go! :P That set and album belong to the highest ranks of metal history :) Ty for the great react Kristin, always enjoy seeing you do these reacts, your eagerness to learn more about music, bands and singers, i love it :) (oh, and we all been rookies ;) that'll pass hehehe)
Sorry I missed this somehow. This song is the one that made me pick up the bass. First thing I learned to play. And the Long Beach Arena show Bruce mentioned at the beginning, was my 1st Maiden show. Thnak you so much for this one. Looked like you really enjoyed it. I'll say it again...THE greatest story tellers in ALL of Metal! #UpTheIrons
Maiden is one of the best bands Bruce did have a theater background so he draws you in another song is number of the beast kinda like Steven King movie of a song but it's a great tune also aces high and power slave or hallowed be thy name all great Maiden tunes
Dale Johnson where did Bruce have a theatrical background? I have never read nor heard this. In fact Bruce has said he couldn’t even get into the glee club at school because they said he couldn’t sing. I had a good laugh over that one. Lol
I tend to judge bands based upon how close their stage performance is to what was released on the album. I will say this.. other than Bruce's aging vocals (which were still pretty darned close) and the audio levels of a few of the instruments.. this is almost exactly what you would hear if you listened to the studio version from the original album. That is how tight this band is. Flawless performance by one of the best bands ever. Peace
Seen Maiden 16 times over the years, starting with the paul di anno years, and the experience is always absolute. Many of their songs are history lessons. If Iron Maiden had been teaching ME history in school,I'd be a fucking professor by now. Try Aces High next or Two Minutes To Midnight or Hallowed or Wasted Years....... damn,ALL of them !
Kristin. First may I say you’re gorgeous. Second I am going to show my age. This song was on Powerslave which was release in 1984. I was taking English Literature in high school at that time. And we studied this poem which was written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge which the song is based on. Bruce Dickinson the lead singer is a huge literary and history fan. Powerslave was the first album that Bruce was really allowed to write and contribute. There are two lead guitarists and they will trade off on solos. The tour for Seventh Son of a Seventh Son was Maiden England Tour which they recreated in 2012 and included a lot from Powerslave. The tour for Powerslave was called The World Slavery Tour. The first time my son saw Maiden was on the 2012 Maiden England tour. He was 11 then. He’s seen Maiden with me 3 times since then.
Heavy Metal shouldn`t be scary that's not what its about although there are some bands that do that. Its about energy, emotion, and deep meaningful lyrics and above all exceptional musicianship. You will be very surprised by what`s ahead. This song is based on a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge written in 1797-98
Richard Towell 👊💙Thankyou!! I’ve had to react to some scary as fc%k vids that really made me feel like I will never like metal 😩 but this is GREAT! I can enjoy THIS... this is FANTASTIC!!
And yet, it is an ancient song, ancient rhyme, ancient lesson..... my god... thank you for the grade 6 memory.... I really wanna share more from that time... with yo, new friend... Iron maiden... wow, and so much more. Let me know. I wanna share stuff and stories in music from then and there with ya. you nailed it..... what a small world..... and what history... I wanna help ya learn. I was a kid when this all came out, and ... well, maybe some good discussions may yield... Thank you for this accidental meeting, Ma'am.. ( would say Miss, ,Mrs, but Ma'am seems polite, and wanna share more eighties rock with ya, and all ya'all, ya know?) Thank you, I have'nt shared much Iron maiden other that with my children,.... and they rave that this should nevr be forgot, even my 8 yr old daughter says..... "daddy... why have people forgotten this awesome story, this lesson, this skill, this joy.... but lesson overall.. the legends... the myths, the stories..? Why Daddy?" And my older son... 11 ... says this music should be required in school... and I agree.
Like I said, love your reactions from the heart! Your eyes show your surprise to this magnificent band! just amazed how honest your words sound! Love this videos!

Umas das melhores do iron👏👏nao me canso de ouvir👏😍👏👏
You talk about his energy, he's also the pilot of there jet that flies the band and crew from show to show on tour! Crazy!!
James Hines 👊❤️😂I’m just in AWE!! This is incredible!!
Ahh disregard my request, I see you already did it so I shall check it out now
🤘☺️🗣Up the Irons! If you see another Maiden song I simply must do... please let me know! 😉
👊❤️🗣Well said!! UP THE IRONS!
seen them last year here in Arnhem Holland its an happening you see kids older ppl all happy enjoy the show its just an amazing thing to see
Maiden is Aweson live I have seen them twice and going for a third time in SEPT 22
Welcome to the awesome world of Maiden! 🤘❤🤘❤ Up the Irons! 🤘
Up the irons ☺️
Bruce Dickinson is 61 and still runs around like a maniac belting out the tunes!
Sean Dunn 👊💙EXACTLY!! Exactly!!
For as long as long as hes been going, and still going... they've been hinting a new album ...he's one of the greatest rock frontmen of all time.
Your smile at 9:30 is priceless.
Iron Maiden, where literature meets heavy metal 🤘🏼
2008/2009, I was at these two shows in Brazil. Up the Irons!
One Kiss From You Kristin From my Country CHILE 🇨🇱.... Iron Maiden Classic Memories of Heavy metal Forever....
Claudio Duran 😘
Don't forget, there are six in the band. Six superb musicians. One cannot be singled out for praise above another.
iron maiden is definitely a well oiled machine in top form even after all these years
james sparks 👊💙I definitely see the proof!! 😳💯
We used to get laughed at by the disco crowd back then. Who's laughing now. Awesome band for the past 40 years and your reaction is real. Great bands and their music will do that. Cool video. 👍👏
Dio, Ozzy, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are the big 4 of Heavy Metal.
Used to be motor head until lemmy died
Thankyou 🙌💯
Agree, but right at the top are the Godfathers of Metal,Black Sabbath of course.
Homage to them.
@@TheCornishCockney Yes, Sabbath, Zepplin and Purple
@@s.baldrick870 zeppelin and purple are not exactly metal
Un temazo de mi banda favorita... Arriba iron maiden 🤟🤟
Clive Burr was the reason i started playing,,and Nico is the reason i kept going 🤟🏴,, RIP Clive 🙏
My buddy is a Merchant Marine I got a replay this song for him. #Kalikeeps 💯 never stop learning never stop living never stop being you.
A.J. Gleason 👊💙I do appreciate you A.J! I really do! 🙏💕 (bc the snakes are real on YT) 😳 and no one stands up for anyone
*i mean reactors don’t stand up for reactors anyway
The singer is Bruce - the almighty - Dickinson. Love your reaction. Felt the same when i first listened to that song 35 years ago. Man... i'm old ! (sigh)
I guess for all of us, it is truly amazing. For Bruce, it's Tuesday. Just Bruce being Bruce.
Rich Williams 👊❤️Hahaha! Nice one!!
Thankyou so very much for telling me your thoughts and helping me to understand more about Bruce 😊 I just went with what I saw here 😳
@@KristinKali haha :D He's an open book of many things
just my opinion but love this song more than hallowed be thy name
The studio version you cannot beat!
Its a masterpiece by anyones standards ,the amount of composing that went into that song even a classical musician would admire .
👊❤️🗣I agree... a masterpiece is right ☺️💕
@@KristinKali thank you gorgeous welcome to Maiden
@@roadogsc Ok,sorry.9-
I´m 51 & me & my school-friend has seen Maiden LIVE for over 20 yrs,it´s a "people-party" & the tickets are/gets soldout in a few hrs..& I love that Nicko, the drummer ,calls his set "this little baby",about each symbole..Steve choosed Nicko instead in 1982,when the drummer before ,never could stay sober before a gig, while Nicko was a party guy,BUT wanted to show "how good he is" & always came/showed up sober to a gig..and since 2 yrs back ? he is "A new born Christian".
My 2 favorite songs (this and Xanadu) courtesy of Sam Coleridge and my 2 favorite genius bands.
"Kids, I've been listening to Iron Maiden for longer than you've been alive, which either makes you very young or me very old..."
see the smiles on their faces thats one of the reasons i love them other reason history class in music kids would love it, i think ;)
Saw them last week they are still going strong! Up the Irons!
Cameo by Richard Burton in the middle eight, love it..
saw them every year from 84 to 90 the best i saw by far in metal at the time
Maiden helped pique my interest in literature and history as a long-haired juvenile delinquent back in 80's.
I already said, is possible, see them live, but there is a bigger if attached to that, IF they again tour with their most loved classic set, like the flight 666 tour was (its a revisit to the 1984 show, that was recorded and became the best selling album "Live after Death" double album (vinyl baby, yeah!!)
So if there is a chance to see that show again (and there will be) then even if you have to go 2 states over to see them, you go! :P That set and album belong to the highest ranks of metal history :)
Ty for the great react Kristin, always enjoy seeing you do these reacts, your eagerness to learn more about music, bands and singers, i love it :) (oh, and we all been rookies ;) that'll pass hehehe)

A Great Fucking Song!
Is a Masterpiece
UP THE IRONS!!!
they are still doing a great job even though they are in their 60s plenty of energy and life left in them UP THE IRONS...
My all time favorite maiden song. Love your channel!
barnyard vapes 👊💙well, I’m learning the ropes but I do appreciate you Barnyard vapes!
Peace
UOAbigail LeVey 👊❤️🙌💯
Seen Maiden 16 times over the years, starting with the paul di anno years, and the experience is always absolute.
Many of their songs are history lessons.
If Iron Maiden had been teaching ME history in school,I'd be a fucking professor by now.
Try Aces High next or Two Minutes To Midnight or Hallowed or Wasted Years....... damn,ALL of them !
If you get a chance see them live you will love it. I have it in my will that the TROOPER is played at my funeral
Bruce is a modern Renaissance man.
God of metal
Always great especially live
Thanks for sharing your reaction with us.

Oh hey - why not reacting to Amorphis.
Silver bride is a good one.
( would say Miss, ,Mrs, but Ma'am seems polite, and wanna share more eighties rock with ya, and all ya'all, ya know?)
Thank you, I have'nt shared much Iron maiden other that with my children,.... and they rave that this should nevr be forgot, even my 8 yr old daughter says..... "daddy... why have people forgotten this awesome story, this lesson, this skill, this joy.... but lesson overall.. the legends... the myths, the stories..? Why Daddy?"
And my older son... 11 ... says this music should be required in school... and I agree.
Like I said, love your reactions from the heart! Your eyes show your surprise to this magnificent band! just amazed how honest your words sound! Love this videos!
Thankyou so much! I really don’t deserve all this praise.. I’m not a professional... I just react from the heart
A lot of Maiden's stage sets we're based around Ancient Egypt. And a lot of the early tracks depict that!
I love it! It’s brilliant! It showcases Iron Maiden’s talent/artistry but also how intelligent they are.
I JUST saw them 3 weeks ago. AMAZING!
First time I ever heard this song I was in grade 8. Our English teacher played it for us LOL. We just read the poem(same name) so he played us the song too hahaha
