  • It's finally here! The video that literally no-one asked for, the 2023 Biker Torque Bike of the Year.
    We have ridden about 30 bikes this year from the Ducati Monster, Ducati Desert X, the Royal Enfield Interceptor, Continental GT, Royal Enfield Hunter and Super Meteor. There was also the Benelli Leoncino, the BMW S1000RR and M1000R, the BMW R1250 RS and R1250R, the Yamaha MT07 adn Tracer 9 GT+the, the Vespa Super Sport, and of course the Triumph Street Triple.
    There were a few worthy contenders, but in the end it came down to just two bikes. So which one takes out the first ever Biker Torque, Bike of the Year. You'd better watch to find out.

    Bike needs to be decent at most riding styles to be considered 'best' IMO - Not sure I would want to tour or on either of your top picks. (but to be fair, it sounds like your list was limited to the 30 or so you rode)

      @BikerTorque  5 місяців тому

      Ah, the eternal quest for the "best" bike! It's true that finding a bike that excels in every riding style is quite a challenge. But hey, at least we have plenty of options to choose from and debate about!

    I appreciate that you both loved the triumph street triple and I’m glad that your reasons for picking it were not based on stats or specs. It’s all about the ride.

      I think motorcyclists in general can get to caught up in the specs, absolutely agree that it's all about the ride. That's why the real winner was my R65. Thanks for your support this year and tuning in each each. We should be back online some tim in Feb.

Haven’t ridden a Speed Twin yet, maybe next year we will be able to get one from Triumph in Australia, but have ridden and reviewed the Bonneville T120 and absolutely loved that bike. Hope you have a great Christmas and looking forward to being able to share more reviews and rider stories in 2024.

      The Suzuki is a weapon and fun. The Hornet is typical Honda boringness combined with their dwindling quality control. I use to work in a dealer and let’s just say most of the ones sold had minor and major warranty concerns, along with other models. The Rebels, the Africa Twins, etc all had oil leaks, electronics failures and more. So, now they’re boring, and you can’t rely on them either.

    • @BikerTorque
      @BikerTorque  5 місяців тому +1

      @@whatsstefon so it’s not just me that thinks that Honda’s are boring. Good to hear. Didn’t realise their quality control was on the slide. Hoping to try the Suzuki yet.

      @whatsstefon 5 місяців тому +1

      @@BikerTorque the most boring bikes in the world.
      I’d still have bought one purely for the reliability. But these days, that’s lacking too. One Hornet came back with 200km on the clock and needed a new engine. The bottom end chewed itself apart. Another had a loose stator and destroyed the side of the engine inside the case cover. Metal shavings all through the oil. You can not risk replacing the broken part with metal shavings potentially blocking an oil gallery. Yikes!

    it's not 20K between RS and M, not in Melbourne anyway; more like 10K, just saying. And if you don't need the Competition pack it's peanuts between these bikes, which makes beemer a winner by far. However the Duke 1390 is comming .. 🙂
