Just ordered my new Tracer 9 GT plus in Power Grey. With £1500 worth of free extras. What a deal, what a bike. Cant wait. Thanks for this great review. 😊
Hi Andy, sounds great, where did you buy your bike? Thanks for watching and your comments, if you haven't already, please subscribe as this helps me to provide more content.
No doubt ~17k is a lot of money for any bike, but if you don’t need the top end power of the S1000XR which, unless you intend to take your bike to the track perhaps, this is a fantastic value and plenty of power for the street. Not to mention offering some features the XR doesn’t at any price, and saddle bags come standard, that saves you another 1k right there! I do really love the looks of the XR though, but is it worth the significant jump in price over the GT+, my logical and passionate sides of my brain are playing a tug of war haha
It’s beautiful and way more versatile than many bikes. No it’s not a straight up ADV but if you favor street and easy dirt roads only, this could be the bike for you. I currently have a 23 Yamaha Tenere 700 and love it. However, this bike would likely be a better fit for my road bias riding
£199 over 48 months equals £9552 plus the £2000 deposit equals £11552. £3358 short of the price tag. Does that mean there would be a balloon payment of somewhere around £5000-£6000 after the term (depending on the interest rate) If so you should mention that.
Hi Rodger, you’re right! I forgot to mention that was a PCP deal. Thanks for pointing that out, I’ll try make sure that doesn’t happen on the next one. Thanks for watching and for your comments 👍
The seat in the GT9 2022 model coped criticism for the forward slope of the seat, that meant that over time and a few bumps, the rider ended up crushing his nuts against the seat. How is the GT+ in this regard? Fixed?
I ride a 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 ( old tracer) and had few problems with the seat. I have a 32” inseam, if that makes a difference. I use my bike for DoorDash working 10-12 hours during a shift.🤷🏻♂️
Hi Alan, I never rode the other version, so don’t have anything to compare it with, but I rode a hundred miles or so on this one and had no problems at all. Thanks for watand your comments, if you haven’t already please subscribe 👍
Would be interesting to know if somebody has compared the Tracer with the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx which would be a natural competitor if not on the spec sheet, for the intended use
Hi Carlos, I owned a 2020 Ninja 1000 SX and preferred it to the Tracer. The SX has a lovely smooth but torquey engine that puts out 20+ horses more than the Yamaha. It’s a more sporty riding position, but to me felt more natural and not too extreme
