Today we take a look at the 7 1/4" Hype tough circular saw from Walmart. Thanks for watching. Help me make better content by checking out the Merch Store teespring.com/...
Cool! I'm so glad I found this because I picked this exact saw up at Walmart today and was searching for information about the guide:) I've never used one before, but now at least I know how to:) Thanks for posting...
Lol I’m so scared to use this I don’t want to cut my arm off and I’ve never used a saw in my life, but since I’ve now started making and selling my projects I have no choice thanks for the vid!
I have purchased and used a Hyper Tough 6.5” circular saw. It works great. I bought it for $49 and it comes with a battery and a charger. Blade size is important for the depth of the wood, for example, you cannot cut a 2” deep wood with a saw with 4.5” blade.
I did the exact same thing just over a week ago when I got this. Will be using it for the first time this weekend for a subwoofer box build. We’ll see how it goes....
I bought mine for under 40.00 and I bought blades for around 15.00. I wasn't sure if I had to make sure anything needed to be tightened and all I got was an Allen wrench. I feel a little ripped off now, oh well such is life I guess. Thank you for having this it unstressed me out, this is my 2nd power tool I've bought for myself. Have a Happy New Year.
I bought it to evenly cut the ends of my tabletop and it worked great for that purpose. Small projects are what these tools are great for! Definitely get an upgraded blade though, the tear out was TERRIBLE with the stock blade.
Be interesting to see how long the armature lasts. For that price there can't be much copper in the winding. Keep the blade sharp and push it straight and it may last you well. As an ex builder I've lost count of burnt out power tools.
Only time will tell how long it will last. For the price if I get one or two good size home projects out of it, I would say it paid for it's self. I totally agree that it would not stand up on a construction site, it's for the the MR/ Miss fix it that wants to build a fence or small deck.
Hyper tough gives you a two year warranty. As long as you have a copy of the receipt you can take the tool into Walmart and get it replaced. I took a pretty abused hyper tough hammer drill and got it replaced with little hassle. Best part was I received a new receipt for the new drill and got another two year warranty.
Slap a 24t diablo framing blade on that bad boy and itll cut like butter. Diablo blades IMO are the best but any of those 24t thin kerf framing blades do well.
I have this saw and I will tell you that the hyper tough blades are garbage 🗑! The saw is fine . Just get a good quality blade and you will see a huge difference right away. You can see how bad the blades are in this video. A good blade will not burn the wood like is shown in this video.
I cannot get my new Harborfreight (similar to yours) saw to work as blade is too close to the bottom guard, rubbing and making loud noise, and depth adjust lever is too tight to move. The unit for $39 might be defective out the box, idk.
You could cut some metal with it using an abrasive blade. You can find one of those at a big box home improvement store. Although it will probably not be very efficient, it can do it. I have cut 1/4" aluminum with the saw and concrete.
What is the auxilliary handle? This is the 5th video I've watched on the thing. Where are you puttings your hands, on the main handle and is there something in front that serves as the auxillary handle? The manual says to use both. Thank you , great video.
I bought mine a few years and it has been sitting in the closet. I just took it out today and used it to cut one piece of wood, now it won't start again. HELP!!!!! I don't know why it isn't working?
i got the button depressed to change my blade . I got the tool on bolt.. it wont budge.. help..yes I'm sure I have it trying to turn the correct direction.. maybe I just don't have the strength what can I do to add tork needed to loosen this bolt? plz...ty
I only used it a couple of times and it doesn't work anymore what needs to be replaced or what do I need to do to fix it or what part to replace to repair my skill saw
This is what I do when I want to buy something, search on UA-cam because I know someone got my answer. Thanks 👍
I’ve been having mine since 2017 and it’s still working great! Probably has more than 100+ hours of use on it. I approve this tool!
Hey, thanks for posting your review after 4 or 5 years. It means more than coming from someone who bought it a week ago. LOL

Same here 😂
I got to call my dad and tell him I taught myself how to use a circular saw.

Thank you for actually using the saw in your review! Great job
Thanks for the kind words.

Yep using this for a small project. Thanks!!!!
Thank you for this video.. my wife just bought me the same one you have last night for 29 dollars. LA CA.
I bought this for 28$ and for an additional 3$ I got the 2 year warranty. For 31$ if it lasts 2-3 years that’s a bargain in my book.
Whats the warranty covers?

Good succinct review sir. I inherited this saw from a friend and wanted some quick overview. Appreciate it

I’ve got one like this and it’s not too bad. I don’t use it much but it seems to work fine.

Cheap saw... with a badass blade got you...👍👍👍👍
I used it to build a small chicken coop and 2 days later it wont do nothing that's actually how I came about seeing your video lol
Wow I bought and used for the same reason

What blade do you recommend for beveling 1x2 soft wood planks?
Where is the wrench storage at on this saw?
It is built into the base of the saw, under the motor.
Thank you for the video. The wood should not be burnt 🔥!
Nice!

You can take it back to HFT , they will exchange it for free.

Yes there is a bump in front of the main handle that serves as the auxiliary handle. It kind of looks like a giraffe horn LOL. Hope this helps.
@@MattLundquistVW Thanks for letting me know. I did go back and see that your hand was on that bump. Now I have to get up the nerve to use my saw.
@@elsplace896 always be careful...watch what's under what your cutting also
@@FreethemGuyz I agree with your name!!! Yes I will be careful

Try a wrench with a longer handle, or add a pipe over the wrench that it came with.
@@MattLundquistVW ty. I'll try that. soon as I find one. let ya know how that worked for me ..ty
do you have a vid on which size blade to use for which size wood your cutting? 2x4 or 1/4' plywood ..ty
Unfortunately I don't.

How to fix and repair hyper touch 12 amp skill saw
I bault a new hyper touch 12 amp skill saw and it quite working and smoke came out of the end of my skill saw and doesn't work
I only used it a couple of times and it doesn't work anymore what needs to be replaced or what do I need to do to fix it or what part to replace to repair my skill saw
No power , go to find RYOBI, Dewalt SKIL in Home Depot
Stupid proof😂😂😂
Anything else Neil
Yes I said it Neil Daisy is stupid
It's a great saw for the price. Down side if you need to cut metal it doesn't come with extra blades. All in all it's a 7 out of 10.
What blade do I need to cut metal. Working on a closet garment rack.
👍
Blade alil cheap put a better blade on it be good to go .
