    I’ve been having mine since 2017 and it’s still working great! Probably has more than 100+ hours of use on it. I approve this tool!

    Cool! I'm so glad I found this because I picked this exact saw up at Walmart today and was searching for information about the guide:) I've never used one before, but now at least I know how to:) Thanks for posting...

      Same here 😂
      I got to call my dad and tell him I taught myself how to use a circular saw.

    Lol I’m so scared to use this I don’t want to cut my arm off and I’ve never used a saw in my life, but since I’ve now started making and selling my projects I have no choice thanks for the vid!

    I have purchased and used a Hyper Tough 6.5” circular saw. It works great. I bought it for $49 and it comes with a battery and a charger. Blade size is important for the depth of the wood, for example, you cannot cut a 2” deep wood with a saw with 4.5” blade.

    I bought this for 28$ and for an additional 3$ I got the 2 year warranty. For 31$ if it lasts 2-3 years that’s a bargain in my book.

    I bought mine for under 40.00 and I bought blades for around 15.00. I wasn't sure if I had to make sure anything needed to be tightened and all I got was an Allen wrench. I feel a little ripped off now, oh well such is life I guess. Thank you for having this it unstressed me out, this is my 2nd power tool I've bought for myself. Have a Happy New Year.

    I’ve got one like this and it’s not too bad. I don’t use it much but it seems to work fine.

    I bought it to evenly cut the ends of my tabletop and it worked great for that purpose. Small projects are what these tools are great for! Definitely get an upgraded blade though, the tear out was TERRIBLE with the stock blade.

  • @Paulman50

    Be interesting to see how long the armature lasts. For that price there can't be much copper in the winding.
    Keep the blade sharp and push it straight and it may last you well. As an ex builder I've lost count of burnt out power tools.

    • @MattLundquistVW
      @MattLundquistVW  4 роки тому +2

      Only time will tell how long it will last. For the price if I get one or two good size home projects out of it, I would say it paid for it's self. I totally agree that it would not stand up on a construction site, it's for the the MR/ Miss fix it that wants to build a fence or small deck.

      Hyper tough gives you a two year warranty. As long as you have a copy of the receipt you can take the tool into Walmart and get it replaced. I took a pretty abused hyper tough hammer drill and got it replaced with little hassle. Best part was I received a new receipt for the new drill and got another two year warranty.

    Slap a 24t diablo framing blade on that bad boy and itll cut like butter. Diablo blades IMO are the best but any of those 24t thin kerf framing blades do well.

    I have this saw and I will tell you that the hyper tough blades are garbage 🗑! The saw is fine . Just get a good quality blade and you will see a huge difference right away. You can see how bad the blades are in this video. A good blade will not burn the wood like is shown in this video.

    I cannot get my new Harborfreight (similar to yours) saw to work as blade is too close to the bottom guard, rubbing and making loud noise, and depth adjust lever is too tight to move.
    The unit for $39 might be defective out the box, idk.

    Question: can you cut metal with this saw and what blade do I need to use?

    • @MattLundquistVW
      @MattLundquistVW  2 роки тому

      You could cut some metal with it using an abrasive blade. You can find one of those at a big box home improvement store. Although it will probably not be very efficient, it can do it. I have cut 1/4" aluminum with the saw and concrete.

    What is the auxilliary handle? This is the 5th video I've watched on the thing. Where are you puttings your hands, on the main handle and is there something in front that serves as the auxillary handle? The manual says to use both. Thank you , great video.

    • @MattLundquistVW
      @MattLundquistVW  2 роки тому

      Yes there is a bump in front of the main handle that serves as the auxiliary handle. It kind of looks like a giraffe horn LOL. Hope this helps.
